Episodio #12.3

This was the first edition broadcast since Episodio #12.2 (1988), with the previous two weeks taken up with broadcast of the Olympics.

The schedule change would appear to have had a direct effect on Blankety Blank's ratings as the fortnight of Olympics saw ITV launch the final series of Me & My Girl (1984) in direct competition, giving it a two week lead-in when Blankety Blank returned.

The ratings for this edition fell by almost two million since the previous episode, with 7.5 million tuning in. Directly opposite, The Story of Foxy-Features and Melon-Head (1988) was watched by 11 million and reached 18th place in the charts... while Blankety Blank dropped out of the Top 30 and fell to 58th place.

Blankety Blank's ratings would steadily begin to improve from Episodio #12.8 (1988) onwards, when ITV began showing the less popular A Kind of Living (1988) in the same timeslot.

Les does a joke routine about his name not really being "Les Dawson", but appears to say "Res" instead of Les.
