I managed to grind it through, which means something. Because it's the first Netflix style Hungarian series, I was interested.

At times it drags on a little slow especially when it is a military action. But there are enough classic series elements and turning points to keep up interest.

Yes, I agree it was too expensive when Hungary has crumbling hospitals and railway lines etc. But the film wisely avoids the political angle. I think the director was good, though dialogues can be a bit stilted. So... all in all it is watchable, and maybe it is not according to the creator's intention, but it reveals a lot about HU culture inadvertently.

"S. E. R. E. G" is a series that, despite its high budget, falls short in several key areas. The characters are disappointingly one-dimensional, lacking depth and development. The main character, in particular, comes across as an emotionless machine, making it difficult for viewers to connect with them. The dialogues are unrealistic and fail to resonate with real-life conversations, further distancing the audience. Additionally, the series seems to be heavily influenced by state propaganda, which detracts from its overall quality. Despite the significant financial investment, "S. E. R. E. G" does not deliver a compelling or engaging viewing experience.

This series had me glued to the screen. It was refreshing for me to watch something with a different style after so many increasingly cheesy American superhero films and other weak, clichéd productions. Sure, the story isn't entirely original, but it's exciting, engaging, and gives a glimpse into local - Hungarian - circumstances. It's not flawless, of course, but I found it very enjoyable.

Several characters are well-developed, there are some good jokes, and it keeps you curious about how the story will unfold. It even feels like the directors paid attention to certain details. I'm not trying to overly praise the series - there are definitely one or two weak points - but overall, the result is positive.

It doesn't pretend to be more than it is, and that's perfectly fine - it's not Black Hawk Down, and it doesn't need to be. Obviously, it can't compete with big Hollywood productions, but I don't think it's trying to, either. It's definitely worth watching, and there's no need to be swayed by all the one-star reviews - which are likely a bit politically motivated anyway.

I have never seen such a series of dung piles in my life. Terrible acting, story management that is far removed from reality. Editing and editing are, of course, below criticism.

Every sentence and story is completely HUMILIATING to Hungarian soldiers, police officers and everyone who professionally supports the work of law enforcement agencies. All former and current servicemen look at him with shame.

The only good thing about it (hence the 1 star) is that it hasn't been translated into a foreign language yet... The acting is surprisingly weak, as if the actors are also bored and suffering from the script's hurtful clichés. The action scenes resemble the faded explosion effects of a theater prop warehouse, with completely uncredited and ridiculous attempts. Pathetic.

Decent storytelling coupled with mediocre acting. As you get more and more into it, you will eventually forget about the acting and get completely immersed in the story. It doesn't necessarily have much depth to it, so you shouldn't expect some life changing lesson in there, but as long as you take it lightly, this serie will keep you engaged and entertained from the beginning till the end.

Now I also understand that most people look at the serie through the lense of contemporary Hungarian politics, which is such a shame, because it takes away the enjoyment of the story. It's worth to give it a chance with an open mind, and just enjoy the story for what it is: casual entertainment.
