I think this is one of the best epic movies ever made. All the actors were a good pick for their role. Especially the lead actor Femi Branch.
House of Ga'a is a gripping historical drama that transports viewers back to the 18th century Oyo Empire. Directed by the brilliant Bolanle Austen-Peters, this Netflix Original follows the rise and fall of Bashorun Ga'a, a ruthless kingmaker who wielded deceit and voodoo to build his power.
House of Ga'a is a testament to the growing strength of Nollywood in telling its own stories. It's a gripping tale of power, betrayal, and the consequences of ambition, and a must-see for anyone interested in African history and culture.
I love the story. How the story was well told is commendable. This is how to give an account of a legend. Bolanle Austin Peters deserves a national honor, she is a pride of the Yorubas. 💯

Best movie I've seen as of late, great story twlling, character building and script writting. Fantastic fight scenes with high stakes, easy to follow yet complex. Loved every moment.
- My favorite parts were the exasperation of Ga's slavw I found tjese parts irony to be hilarious and liked the reoccurrence.
- The plot was perfect, did not have a problem with following along and the characters had so much depth, which I cannot say for majority of movies being watch today. I love House of Ga'a, it will make your life better after watching. A lovely set and costume design on top og all of it. Not a single charqcter neglected.

"House of Ga'a" is a masterful exploration of ambition, power, and vengeance. It offers a thrilling and thought-provoking experience that leaves a lasting impression. With its strong performances, gripping storyline, and exceptional direction, it is a must-watch for fans of political dramas and intense character studies.
I love the House of Ga'a movie because it was nicely executed, it reminded me of the kings of our old testament. The worship of idols, the misuse of power, the love, the betrayal, the revenge, and the fall
The film is a testament to the lengths one can go in the pursuit of power and the devastating consequences that follow.
The movie also shows an advancement in African film making, I wish it a came out in series so we can see and have a lot more in-depth analysis about the Yoruba culture, the relationship with their wives and more.
I give the movie a 9/10.

I enjoyed every bit of the House of G'aa from the costume design to the set to the acting. I think the producers did a phenomenal job of assembling the cast and coordinating everyone involved.
The movie felt very cohesive from start to finish. The plot and pace of the movie felt well crafted and executed. There was never a dull moment or irrelevant pieces in the film which in my humble opinion is quite common in Nollywood movies more broadly.
I'd definitely recommend as a case study for new producers and directors learning their craft in Nollywood, for Nigerians (and our leaders) to understand all that came before us and core lessons in history. Especially relating to the themes of power and corruption. I'd certainly recommend to anyone globally who's interested in seeing a great representation of Nigerian history and culture in film.
Great job team!!!

An interesting fictionalized account of an infamous historical figure in one od nigerias largest historic empires. The story could have worked and has some entertaining fight sequences but at the end it fails to impress with any level of prestige. It is just meh. The choice to lean more on Bashorun Ga'a as an arrogant leader who used force and less like the sly political strategist who played his political rivals was a missed opportunity. I don't think the actors were given enough to work with and so the cast will not be getting any ovation for their performance, the dialogue often felt like a stage play, it was a bit much. Also, the decision not to give the principal characters any nuance hurt the actors. I will say that the performance of Funke Akindele is ok but not enough as she isn't on screen much. Mike Afolarin shines but even his performance isn't enough to take the movie where it needed to go. It is not the thrilling epic that it had the potential to be. The end could have had more spectacle but it felt like a stage play and even the poetic ending falls flat. Without any charismatic characters the movie is still an ok watch, I am just a tad disappointed.
