    Predictably sexist and toxic

A pathetic story of an incompetent man trying to live life vicariously through his son. Typical Kollywood story where the women are single dimensional and exist only to improve the lives of the men. Tamil cinema needs to learn from Malayalam industry. Glorifies all toxic behavior of Tamil culture, like judging people if they don't own a house, forcing their kids to pursue education they are simply not interested or good at, forcing the daughter into a marriage paying dowry, forcing the father's personal goals on the son just because of his ego and lack of self esteem, daughters have no real role. A horrible depiction, and sets a dangerous precedent for audience.

    Middle-class struggle for Own House

Middle-class would have been good title for this movie. Those who planned(planning) to buy a new house would definitely connect to this movie. All artists really well. Their acting was natural. Everyone had their role and neatly done(Sarath, devayani, Siddharth, meetha, chaitra) . Was there no negative? Yes there were few(few lag scenes, some repeated dialogues, Sarath putting his pressure on his son, Siddharth as school boy character, sometime some acting looked but artificial, few comic scenes would have been stress buster, thanks to few yogibabu scenes) but those can be ignored given the content and struggle of middle-class to purchase a home is clearly portrayed. Message was also clear, Some decisions will not go our way, unexpected situations might arise, some decisions should be taken at right time, failure is not end of world. Cinematography and music was good. No vulgar or unwanted scenes. Can be watched with family.

long, drag and predictable at every turn

First question - what is Devayani doing in this movie? The writer/director simply made her a doll that shakes her head, at different intervals!!

Story - we have seen this many times before. Can you not give a different take? The father (Sarathkumar) is so very toxic and irritating. Even in "middle-class" families, people simply dont just shake their heads to dad's every stupid obsessions.

All in all, it was a drag.

3 BHK - A feel good family drama driven on emotions and beautiful moments

    Rating - 3.75/5

A small emotionally moving feel good family drama with intense performances deeply resonating family moments.

The plot of the story revolves around the long term dream of Vasudevan & family for owning a home and how the family go through the harsh realities and fate in the race of life in cherishing their greatest desire of life.

Big hugs to Sri Ganesh for pulling off a warm and beautiful family story that drives the emotions and takes the audience along with the characters leaving you cherish your own life journey, moments and realisations you gained through your life journey. He has effortlessly portrayed the struggles, emotions and relationship dynamics of each character in the family through precise moments so brilliantly in a way viewers can very much relate. Hats off to the team for giving a refreshing experience through this movie.

Hats off to the team for the stellar casting in the movie. Exceptional performances by Sarath Kumar, Sidharth, Chaithra, Devayani, Meetha Reghunath, Yogi Babu & Vivek Prasanna.

Good work by DOP Dinesh Krishnan & Jithin Stansilaus, Editor Ganesh Siva for the perfect cuts, Music director Amrit Ramnath with subtle BGM's, soothing music & Production Designer Vinoth in elevating this movie to a wholesome package of emotions.

A must watch movie that will definitely leave you in happy tears gracefully reflecting on our family lives and growing up years.

Reflects life of everyday Tamilian families vying for house/flat as their goal of life.

This is the emotion and life of everyday happening in Tamil Nadu. It is sad, in current period, that buying a house is made the life time goal for current times. Previously joint family created savings and co-inhabitation made them achieve other valuable things to the Society. In this film Prabhu's (Siddharth) family with parents in Sarathkumar and Devayani and a very energetic sister, face one problem after another and how they overcome is the story.

The attempt by director to subtly pinpoint the 'norm' of aiming at HSC marks and how averages discourage anybody who has no interest in this rat race. Story portrays how all family members just compromise their ambitions, creativity and own strengths to just be like how others live, in the name of sacrificing for this and that.

It is not one direct story- but every ups and downs that family face each stage of their family lives.

When the goal is achieved, how many mental boundaries and societal norms and escape from servitude and exploitation they overcome is a remarkable lesson we all have to have as take home message, rather than the remembrance of victory. A small ambition of education for big salary and to buy home made generations as slaves, inept and self defeating. This story tells that, but are we listening?

I am sure the bubbly, enthusiastic and decisive Meetha Raghunath as Aarthy will get many films, based on this great performance.

Chaithra J. Achar as Aishwarya is emotional outlet and subtle encouragement for Prabbu (Sidharth). Sidharth role is very difficult and peculiar in recent times. He did justification with his natural acting without any dramatic big emotions. We see an ordinary youth in our neighbourhood in him and not a hero. This is the success of the film. Sarath Kumar, with few word dialogues convey exactly what is important for this film's success. Devayani with minimal dialogue had to deliver through facial expressions that she did very well.

I recommend you to see and please take the message and be united as family and happy and go not as rat racers for flats as success goals.
