It Takes Courage

Maddy Burton's screenplay for "It Takes Courage" should surprise many a porn fan, as it generally avoids the crassness and insincerity of the storytelling of late in Adult movies. Instead a very serious mood is established and sustained as heroine Laney Grey tries to overcome her fears that have trapped her inside her house for a year, unable to move outside.

She's in love with her stepfather (Ken Feels) and once they consummate the love affair, the movie turns from drama to eroticism, quite effectively. This is no ordinary faux incest tale, and the emotional impact is greatly heightened as a result. But the real surprise comes at an amazing ending which I didn't see coming, toying with the viewer's expectations -this is a story with a really neat switcheroo hiding in plain sight.
