Cupcakes

This short horror story follows a group of people spending an evening together, only to discover that the old phrase "whatever you leave behind, you will find in front of you" is disturbingly true-in the most gruesome way. While the concept of revenge from the other side is compelling, the story feels somewhat predictable, likely because too much of the revenge plan is revealed in the first few minutes. That said, some of the effects-such as the levitation at the beginning and the brief glimpse of another person's face appearing over someone's own-are well-executed. The main character's facial expressions strongly reminded me of those in this director's Smiling Woman saga.
