"Pretentious but empty"
The first major flaw lies in the writer's own misguided assumption-that the backlash is due to his depiction of society's ugly realities. With brazen arrogance, he dismisses critics as if they simply cannot handle the truth. But the actual critique aimed at him is far more fundamental: it concerns the squandering of an incredibly original premise through shallow humor and an overinflated sense of seriousness.
The screenplay broaches highly provocative themes-religion, death, poverty, and the role of morality in contemporary life. Yet despite the gravity of these subjects, the film unfolds through some of the dullest and most uninspired dialogue imaginable, ultimately failing to live up to the boldness of its own ideas.
The cast makes an almost unbelievably desperate effort to inject charm into an incomplete screenplay, and in a few scattered scenes, their attempts briefly succeed. However, this modest success owes nothing to the director. In fact, his handling of shot composition and direction of background actors reveals a startling level of amateurism disguised as confidence. This shortcoming is only amplified by the film's cheap editing style, which merely connects shots without rhythm, intention, or cinematic cohesion.
Setting aside these fundamental flaws, there is one unintentionally hilarious element that deserves mention: the producer's opening logo. A low-budget imitation of the Universal Pictures intro-complete with a dramatic orchestral score-it's so earnestly over-the-top that it becomes a highlight in itself. (I'll refrain from elaborating further, lest I diminish its comedic effect.)

7/10
Mr. Ajal was so cute and Mr. Ghulam was also the best with sweet dialogue ( Curse every damn cell of your body ).
Acting is one of the series' pillars. Reza Attaran (one of the leads) brings a layered performance-at times weary, at times hopeful-while the supporting cast (including Abbas Jamshidifar and others) adds emotional depth.
The show also maintains a modest pacing: it doesn't rush the spiritual and moral questions it raises but sometimes overindulges in prolonged reflection, which may dilute momentum.
On the downside, the fantasy elements-such as personified death and metaphysical negotiation-occasionally feel underdeveloped, lacking consistent internal logic. For viewers expecting a clear "rules of the afterlife" construct, the show's ambiguity can be frustrating. The production values, while decent, don't always match the ambition of the script; certain visual transitions and special effects feel low budget.
Yet despite its flaws, "A Delayed Death" is a provocative and somber meditation on suffering, agency, and the delicate threshold between life and death. It isn't just about waiting for the end-it's about understanding why one might wish for it, and what happens if that wish is granted. For viewers willing to sit with uncertainty and moral weight, this series offers something rare on television: a quiet reckoning with mortality.

A humorous and profound masterpiece
A beautiful series in Persian that is very humorous and of course has good storytelling.
This series is based on Islamic religion and could make a humorous series with moral lessons. Although it could have spent more time on some parts and improved a bit, it is great overall.
And it is great for those who want an interesting and humorous series!
Both a deep story and various surprises and many events and appropriate at the end.
This series is one of the best humorous series.
I am looking forward to seeing the next episode of this interesting series as soon as possible.
