In my view episodes are too long. In this case less would be more. There is nothing in typical 10 minutes per episode that could not be said in 5 minutes or even 4 minutes. Or maybe they should just show opening credits.
Whomever thinks this is is entertaining, must not have a life. Not only is it asinine, stupid, cringe worthy, but plain pitiful. Hopefully they stopped at the ten episodes, talk about scrapping the bottom of the barrel.
Spoofing American daytime soap operas and what goes on behind the scenes should be a very fertile ground for humour - the soap storylines being often ridiculous and the actors thinking a huge amount of themselves.
This show does have some laughs in both of those aspects, but it's kind of inconsistent and sometimes the jokes fall a little flat.
As a British person a lot of the cast aren't recognisable, and it looks like the show was shot on a relatively low budget. Although the soap scenes look great in that "soap opera" look in terms of the lighting and the video quality.
Also in the UK the 10 episodes have basically been tacked together into a 90 or so minute "movie" as opposed to the series it was shown in the US as.
If you want a funnier soap opera spoof and are British and of a "certain age" watch Victoria Wood's Acorn Antiques. Dropping the soap is a 90 or so minute distraction and it does have funny moments, but it is inconsistent and feels like it needs more energy and humour put into it.

I had a fun night while watching it It is so nice to watch soft without brutal violence, sexuality comedy show like that. People should consider these kind of shows on evening time. It conrains special characters with extreme personalaties. Most of the shows nowadays includes gun violence offensive and discrimination of people in their scenarios. But honestly you could find this funny and also short episodes makes you enjoying concentrated quality time while 1-2 hours. I wish I could see it before. I will suggest that show to all my friends. Its also nice to meet Paul Witten in reality. Thanks.

If you want to have a great time, laugh like mad, and also enjoy spoofs of soap operas (which are spoofs almost in themselves), you have to watch Dropping the Soap.
This show overdoes everything that soap operas already overdo and takes them beyond the limits of your comedic imagination.
The acting is great (and over the top), the writing/scripts are great (and over the top), the sets are great (and over the top), and pretty much everything else is perfect also.
I don't want to give away too much, but in each 10 minute or so episode, there is drama, intrigue, comedy and soap opera silliness. The synopsis is that the show is a failing soap opera and Jane Lynch comes in to save the show. Her idea of saving is pretty much the opposite of everyone's on the show and that is where the drama and intrigue starts and builds. Add to absurd relationships and love affairs, people trying to save their jobs and get others fired, and the "secret" of at least one of the actors, and you are ready for some serious popcorn eating fun!
Definitely see this and enjoy. I've watched it a few different times and always see something new and find another laugh or two. I'm gonna go watch it again right now!
