A Faith-friendly Series Worth Watching
This series is an honest attempt to produce faith-based content in a medium which mostly ignores or ridicules such content. It eschews the frenetic pace (with blaring soundtrack) and elevation of bad behavior found in many series and is therefore slower-paced (and quieter) and focused on real people and their problems and solutions. It isn't then for everybody, and it is not the best of its broad class of series (that would be "All Creatures Great and Small"), but it is more than passable. I do have two quibbles. The first is the about Franco Lo Presti as Eric. When he speaks normally, he's fine; when he acts "earnest and closeup" his affected speech (lisp) comes off as smarmy. The second is that real ranchers and farmers do not wear tight skinny jeans--for all kinds of reasons.
Because of the success of the show, 4 more added episodes will be shown after Christmas, and season 2 will premiere fall of 2026.

At last, a TV show I can relate too!
Yay! Finally, a TV series that tells the underrepresented story so many of us live. Juggling career and personal situations is hard enough, but when there's older relatives and their work/health struggles too, so much has to be sacrificed, often for a very long time. I'm really glad the main 35+ characters are childless - it matches the dramatic fertility rate drop from my parents' generation to mine ... college fees, years of training, demanding work hours/frequent redundancies and expensive housing meant having children is not an option for so many born in the last 50 years. I find all the above overwhelming at times, and big flashy shows add to the stress, Crossroad Springs is the quiet and calming television I need - I love that there's not too much background music but rather songs are part of the characters' daily lives.
Watched the S1E1 2 Times... It's That Good!
I'm so grateful we splurged for the Pure Flix account to watch this in advance. It was worth every penny.
Crossroad Springs is exactly the kind of drama series I've been waiting for, and I was thrilled to hear Bill Abbott's big announcement that Season One will include additional episodes. That makes me even more excited to see how this season unfolds.
The Hamilton family feels so real... navigating challenges, sacrifices, and unexpected turns while holding on to faith and one another. Pastor James Hamilton's motto, "family first," is woven beautifully through each storyline. The chemistry among the actors makes the family dynamic believable, and it was a delight to see familiar faces I've grown to recognize during the five years I've been tuning in to Great American Family.
I especially connected with how the siblings are starting fresh in different seasons of life. James finding his footing between ministry and ranch work, Janet balancing her medical practice with a budding romance, and all of them discovering the strength of community. It's not a picture-perfect family; it's one that reflects perseverance, reconciliation, and the courage to embrace new beginnings.
Not every part of ranch life matches my own world, but the themes certainly do. Like the Hamiltons, I know what it's like to leave behind one path and step faithfully into another later in life. This series is heartfelt, inspiring, and calming, a reminder that no matter where life takes us, faith and family remain our strongest anchors.

Really, Really Great Entertainment
S1E1. What a pleasant surprise. It's so nice to be entertained. This episode made my evening. I grew up on a farm. This show has a feel to it that I can relate to. Good script. A team of great acting professionals. GAF has hit a home run with this. This show has lived up to its billing. As a viewer, I'm a happy camper.

- QuizThe show inspired co-stars Jillian Cardarelli and Jonathan Stoddard along with Ryan Sorestad to write the song 'Crossroad Springs'. An acoustic version debuted online at the Crossroad Springs Live Event in August 2025 just before the series premiered. Immediately popular with fans, the single was released for sale and streaming early in September, after just two episodes had broadcast.
