Mahouka koukou no rettousei

This anime has its moments, but it's weighed down by some glaring issues. The sibling dynamic between the main characters feels unnecessarily awkward and over-the-top, which can be off-putting. The protagonist lacks charisma and depth, making it hard to connect with him. The story moves at a sluggish pace, often dragging out explanations that overcomplicate simple concepts, while simultaneously leaving key events unexplained. This makes the plot feel disjointed and hard to follow.

The animation is decent but nothing groundbreaking, and the fight scenes, while occasionally entertaining, don't leave a lasting impression. Given its pacing and lack of intense story progression, it's surprising that this series managed to get 26 episodes, a second season, and even a movie. While it has its niche appeal, it's not a standout in the magic-school genre.
