Sweet Wild Bride of Mine

This movie is similar to other verticals in its basic premise for the storyline. Stepbrother/sister are at odds over the inheritance. There are hidden identities/secrets in the main marriage.

But that is where the similarities end. There is no hurling of insults while everybody stands around and sips champagne. There is no girl-on-girl slapping. The bad guys are ferreted out and destroyed through ingenuity and investigation.

In addition to the great storyline and directing, the leads, Kirby Ellwood and Christopher Quartuccio, give convincing performances. Ellwood is especially good at playing the part of the amnesiac who has regressed to a child. She's a great actress who excels in this role.

The only downside to the movie is the derogatory treatment and statements regarding people with disability. This type of behavior is illegal in reality and should not be promoted in movies.

Asides from the awful introduction where a powerful woman is violently attacked and left for dead. I was horrified to see the villains mock and humiliate someone with a mental disability and then feed her dog food - what were the writers thinking!?

Also, as a wheelchair user, I took personal offence at the statement, "we can't have a cripple be the face of the company - we'll look weak" EXCUSE YOU!

As much as I love Kirby E and Chris Q, there was no redeeming this awful vert. It is one that should never have been made. The only thing I can say in its defence, is that it wasn't as violent and abusive as "the foolish heiress strikes back" which was released a few weeks back and had a similar storyline.

Verticals have such great potential, but this kind of thing gives them a bad name. Please do better 🙏

edit: the romance part was lovely and Justin was green flags all over the place. Eliza and Justin defending and protecting each other was couple goals, but there was no need to add in the abuse and derogatory statements. I don't even object to Justin faking being disabled, but adding in such disgusting abuse, purely for dramatic effect, was unnecessary.
