I had no high expectations before watching Rocky, actually we could say that I had some preconceptions about it, being a gen z girl, but man, was I wrong!
This movie kept my attention high from start to finish, and got me to keep thriving for the protagonist, impersonated by an amazing Silvester Stallone. Rocky, as I found, is not the stereotypical macho figure you might think: even though he is a boxer with the classic ''tough guy" look, he often shows his most sensitive and fragile sides, which makes him a role model in many ways. I really liked the way they developed his love story with Adriana, because this side storyline was made almost as important as the main one, creating some balance and avoiding making it an action movie.
Even though the movie came out in 1976 it is still perfectly enjoyable and the values it conveys are still relevant to our society nowadays, which to me makes it a timeless classic.

Frankly, I'm disappointed that CODA won the Oscar for best movie, and I don't understand why the reviews and ratings are so high.
Don't get me wrong, the goal of giving space to deaf people is noble, and it was about time that Hollywood started this process; nonetheless, this movie is nothing but sappy.
The actors did a great job and their performances were by far the most enjoyable thing of the film, but the plot was really basic, and to me it wasn't different than the Disney Channel movies I used to watch when I was a kid. The obstacles that the protagonist has to face to achieve her dream are overcome very easily, and there is really no tension: from the very beginning, you just know there will be the happy ending with the girl going to music school, so the whole plot feels sort of fake.
You can't even say that the concept is original, since it's basically a copy of a previous french movie.
On a positive note, I think the dialogue between the protagonist and her dad is really moving, I admit I might have shed a tear in that moment.
As an adult, I think I am too old for this kind of movie, but I would recommend showing it to kids or young adolescents.

I watched this movie without any particular expectations, and I was positively surprised!
This is not your usual western, the pace is really slow and I would say that it's one of those movies which are strongly based on the atmosphere more than on the plot. If this kind of movies are of your taste, I strongly recommend watching it.
The director did an amazing job in creating a tense atmosphere since the very beginning, and in keeping it up for the whole length of the screentime. The main characters are complex and well defined, and the actors were perfectly cast. I think this was my favourite performance by Benedict Cumberbatch, who once again proved to be a versatile actor.
Maybe the character that I liked less is Kirsten Stuart's, who in my opinion was a bit too one-dimensional and maybe deserved more lines or screen time, since she happened to be pretty important for the development of the plot.
