It is highly underrated, this beautifully filmed subtle horror film that pays tribute to the old gothic thrillers steeped in Hitchcokian terror. I've been waiting for this to drop on 4K Blu Ray. Finally I was able to purchase the hi-def digital on Prime Video. Immediately the high-end quality of the cinematography leapt from the screen in jaw dropping precision. I'm guilty of sleeping on the immense talent of Miss Goth, who mere days before blew me away in Del Toro's magnificent rendition of Frankenstein. Miss Goth is a character actor of the highest quality. This film showcases her unique ability to meld into the most complex of characters. And Dane Dehaan has long been a favourite of mine. Jason Issac needs no praise. He's a master of his craft. Throw in that wonderful actor who played Joe "the Boss" Masseria in Boardwalk Empire and we have a fine ensemble of excellent artisans. I'll be enjoying multiple viewings and look forward to the day I can experience the film in full 4K and Dolby Atmos. Bravo Mr Verbinski! Well done, sir!

A mere 20 minutes into episode one and I knew I was in the presence of something thoroughly special, and this despite the familiar territory. The very atmosphere of the series drew me in immediately. I am no stranger to Nordic noir, being a seasoned subscriber to MHz/Topic. This is up there with the best of them particularly due to the beautifully nuanced performance of the incredible Maria Cordsen. Afshin Firouzi was just as compelling as the villainous Miran. Very much worth your time, most definitely!

Yes it's very slow, but I found it deliciously appropriate in atmosphere. In fact, I did two viewings of it. A different sort of twist on the Zombie genre. There a three stories occurring here, depicting the stress, the hope and ultimate despair of each family. Won't give away any spoilers. I found it very interesting which made for decent entertainment.
