I saw this when it came out in 1993 while I was in high school. A year earlier Juice came out with a similar story. Friends try their hands at petty crime and when it becomes serious, one actually like it.

This time around the friends were white, privileged, but the story was similar. This was a low budget movie but not bad considering the unknown cast. Mira Sorvino would go on the stardom a few years later but here, she's giving a pretty decent performance. Anyhow I saw it on Tubi and think an updated remake might not be bad. Still a recommendation.

Anyhow this love story of sorts was an unexpected thrill ride. Love story is being generous here but after all the main girl is looking for love in all the wrong places.

Unexpected comedy and horror collide here in a low budget little movie that will freak you out. It's definitely an original roller coaster of thrills and shocks that will stay with you for a minute. If you remember those freaky movies that came out in the 80s and got labeled a video nasty than you'll appreciate the throwback. It's not for everyone but those of us who grew up Tom Savini, George Romero, John Carpenter and those weird Italian goalposts films, you'll enjoy this hidden little secret hiding out on Tubi.

How I missed this back then and only discovered it now has me thinking I'm not really about movies like I thought.

Most movies about Vietnam had the bigger names like Oliver stone and Sean penn. Yet here is one scripted partially by real life two tour veteran R. Lee Ermy. The story is brutal and probably the most realistic of war movies you'll ever see. I'd put this against Full Metal Jacket and Apocalypse Now by all accounts better than Platoon.

This one is a hard watch with its gritty story telling and portrayal of broken down men beaten mentally by a war they cannot win. The question is asked, were they supposed to?
