This show is not perfect, but for a TV spin-off of a long running franchise, it's pretty close to a triumph. And let's be honest - it's a lot better than some of the movies.
The acting is really superb and carries the show through some of the more clumsy elements of the storytelling. Babou Ceesay is the standout for me, with Timothy Heffalump (sorry...) a close second. As a Brit, it's still weird to see Ade Edmondson in a serious role, but the man can act! The "kids stuck in adult bodies" trope is handled really well, fortunately.
And the sheep. That damn sheep. It haunts my nightmares and makes me laugh insanely at the same time.
Basically; more of this please.

Let's be clear - this isn't just (by far) the best SW show, it's one of the best science fiction shows of all time. This is like Star Wars if HBO were in charge. Top drawer acting, top drawer writing and cinematography. There isn't a second of filler. Every scene is essential. It's also terrifyingly relevant. I hope we have a Mon Mothma or Bail Organa somewhere in the halls of power, but so far it would appear not...
I only have one minor gripe. The S2 "WW2 French Resistance" is a little too on the nose. Like, were the berets really needed? They even managed to find French "looking" actors. It worked, but it almost seemed like they were scared of being TOO relevant and decided to go hard on historical parallels instead.
It blows my mind that Disney/Lucasfilm can produce content like this and The Acolyte at the same time. Please, Disney, this is the path you should be going down. This is what we want. And it makes the other recent content even harder to swallow knowing you're capable of this.

Sorry, but this is such a poor copy of Buffy "Once More With Feeling" from 20 years ago. Only the brilliance of the Buffy episode was that it wasn't just a gimmick - it actually moved the story along and contained some important revelations.
First they blatantly copy the Alien franchise for the Gorn, and now this poor imitation of Buffy. I actually love this show, so it makes these lazy rip-offs even more frustrating.
I couldn't even finish watching this one, not because it was poorly done but because of how tragically unoriginal it was. If you had never watched Buffy you would probably think this was fun and clever.
