  • Tyler Mane in Halloween II (2009)

    1. Halloween II

Laurie Strode struggles to come to terms with her brother Michael's deadly return to Haddonfield, Illinois; meanwhile, Michael prepares for another reunion with his sister.
    DirectorRob ZombieStarsScout Taylor-ComptonTyler ManeMalcolm McDowell
This sequel is out there and I don't like how they make Loomis a prick.
  • Jamie Lee Curtis, Tyra Banks, Busta Rhymes, Bianca Kajlich, and Sean Patrick Thomas in Halloween: Resurrection (2002)

    2. Halloween: Resurrection

    20021h 30mR19Metascore
    3.9 (52K)
Three years after he last terrorized his sister, Michael Myers confronts her again, before traveling to Haddonfield to deal with the cast and crew of a reality show which is being broadcast from his old home.
DirectorRick RosenthalStarsJamie Lee CurtisBusta RhymesBrad Loree
The film could've been better and was really unnecessary. The intro with Curtis is probably the only good part in my opinion, but I hate that she's killed off and Rhymes ruined the film.
  • Brad Dourif, Malcolm McDowell, Danny Trejo, Tyler Mane, Sheri Moon Zombie, Lew Temple, and Daeg Faerch in Halloween (2007)

    3. Halloween

    20071h 49mR47Metascore

After being committed for 15 years, Michael Myers, now a grown man and still very dangerous, escapes from the mental institution and immediately returns to Haddonfield to find his baby sister, Laurie.
    DirectorRob ZombieStarsScout Taylor-ComptonMalcolm McDowellTyler Mane
It has a couple good moments, but the original is definitely superior.
  • Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989)

    4. Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers

    19891h 36mR28Metascore
    4.9 (50K)
One year after the events of Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988), the Shape returns to Haddonfield once again in an attempt to kill his now-mute niece.
    DirectorDominique Othenin-GirardStarsDonald PleasenceDanielle HarrisEllie Cornell
In my opinion, this is where the series went downhill, Pleasence and Harris are great in it though, and the intro is probably my favorite part of the film.
  • George P. Wilbur in Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995)

    5. Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers

    19951h 27mR10Metascore
    4.7 (45K)
Six years after Michael Myers last terrorized Haddonfield, he returns there in pursuit of his niece, Jamie Lloyd, who has escaped with her newborn child, for which Michael and a mysterious cult have sinister plans.
    DirectorJoe ChappelleStarsDonald PleasencePaul RuddMarianne Hagan
This entry is ok, but could've been better.
I prefer the producer's cut because it explains more, has a better score and finale, but mainly more of Pleasence.
  • James Jude Courtney in Halloween Kills (2021)

    6. Halloween Kills

    20211h 45mR42Metascore
    5.5 (105K)
Surviving victims of Michael Myers form a vigilante mob and vow to end his reign of terror.
DirectorDavid Gordon GreenStarsJamie Lee CurtisJudy GreerAndi Matichak
Not bad, but could've been better and the whole
"Evil Dies Tonight" quote was a bit much.
  • George P. Wilbur in Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988)

    7. Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers

    19881h 28mR34Metascore
    5.8 (62K)
Ten years after his original massacre, the invalid Michael Myers awakens on Halloween Eve and returns to Haddonfield to kill his seven-year-old niece. Can Dr. Loomis stop him?
DirectorDwight H. LittleStarsDonald PleasenceEllie CornellDanielle Harris
This sequel is pretty good, Pleasence
was great as usual, Harris and Cornell are great and who can forget the ending.
  • Jamie Lee Curtis and James Jude Courtney in Halloween Ends (2022)

    8. Halloween Ends

    20221h 51mR47Metascore
    5.0 (79K)
The plot follows the outcast Corey Cunningham who falls in love with Laurie Strode's granddaughter while a series of events, including crossing paths with Michael Myers, drives him to become a serial killer.
DirectorDavid Gordon GreenStarsJamie Lee CurtisAndi MatichakJames Jude Courtney
This is a pretty satisfying finale with a bit of a "Christine" vibe and Curtis is good in it.
  • Jamie Lee Curtis, Josh Hartnett, LL Cool J, Jodi Lyn O'Keefe, and Michelle Williams in Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998)

    9. Halloween H20: 20 Years Later

    19981h 26mR52Metascore
    5.8 (86K)
Laurie Strode, now the dean of a Northern California private school with an assumed name, must battle the Shape one last time, as the life of her own son hangs in the balance.
DirectorSteve MinerStarsJamie Lee CurtisJosh HartnettAdam Arkin
This is pretty good and should've been
the last since II wasn't. I like that Curtis returned, but missed Pleasence and Michael's mask could've been better. I also like
John Ottman's version of John Carpenter's classic theme.
  • Jamie Lee Curtis and Nick Castle in Halloween (2018)

    10. Halloween

    20181h 46mR67Metascore
    6.5 (180K)
Laurie Strode confronts her long-time foe, Michael Myers, the masked figure who has haunted her since she narrowly escaped his killing spree on Halloween night four decades ago.
DirectorDavid Gordon GreenStarsJamie Lee CurtisJudy GreerAndi Matichak
This is good, but I expected a bit more. Curtis
is great as usual and I like the score in which
    Carpenter came back to compose.
  • Halloween II (1981)

    11. Halloween II

    19811h 32mR40Metascore
    6.5 (108K)
While Dr. Loomis hunts for Michael Myers, a traumatized Laurie is rushed to Haddonfield Memorial Hospital, and The Shape is not far behind her.
DirectorRick RosenthalStarsJamie Lee CurtisDonald PleasenceCharles Cyphers
This is a good follow-up to the original that should've been the last in my opinion, Pleasence and Curtis are great and John Carpenter & Alan Howarth's score is excellent.
  • Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982)

    12. Halloween III: Season of the Witch

    19821h 38mR50Metascore
    5.2 (65K)
Kids all over America want Silver Shamrock masks for Halloween. Doctor Daniel Challis seeks to uncover a plot by Silver Shamrock owner Conal Cochran.
DirectorTommy Lee WallaceStarsTom AtkinsStacey NelkinDan O'Herlihy
I've always liked this, the late, O'Herlihy was a great villain, Atkins is great as usual and John Carpenter & Alan Howarth's score is excellent as usual. The film was supposed to be the first of
a Halloween-themed anthology, but failed. It
should've been titled, "Season of the Witch,"
but I like that it's different and definitely has
    that Halloween feel to it.
  • Halloween (1978)

    13. Halloween

    19781h 31mR90Metascore
    7.7 (326K)
Fifteen years after murdering his sister on Halloween night 1963, Michael Myers escapes from a mental hospital and returns to the small town of Haddonfield, Illinois, to kill again.
DirectorJohn CarpenterStarsDonald PleasenceJamie Lee CurtisTony Moran
This changed the holiday forever, Pleasence and Curtis are great in it and who can forget Carpenter's chilling, classic score. Michael aka "The Shape" is one of the creepiest
movie killers and Carpenter paid tribute to
    Alfred Hitchcock's 1960 classic,
"Psycho" where the name, Sam Loomis, the
kitchen knife and Janet Leigh's daughter,
Curtis are used. In my opinion, You can't
beat the original and it's definitely one
    of Carpenter's best.
