Four weeks after a mysterious, incurable virus spreads throughout the United Kingdom, a handful of survivors try to find sanctuary.
    DirectorDanny BoyleStarsCillian MurphyNaomie HarrisChristopher Eccleston
On every level, this film terrifies me to no end. The acting is real, the tension is palpable and the rage is the scariest form of infection because we all get it without being a zombie... Danny Boyle is one of the best and he creates a world you believe could exist if the end did come. My number 1 from the start of this list.
  • I Saw the Devil (2010)

A secret agent exacts revenge on a serial killer through a series of captures and releases.
    DirectorKim Jee-woonStarsLee Byung-hunChoi Min-sikJeon Gook-hwan
This film impacted me deeply. The acting is captivating as Min-sik Choi is a master actor and one of the best villains in modern filmmaking. His performances are compelling and manipulates the viewer as well as the hero in a sick/no holds barred rollercoaster. Jee-woon Kim is a great filmmaker that has a style and way to tell a story no matter what kind of horror.

    DirectorEduardo SánchezStarsGretchen LodgeJohnny LewisAlexandra Holden
Ed Sanchez's best film in my opinion. So raw, emotional, terrifying and the pain each character goes through makes this dark drama unforgettable. Gretchen Lodge is so incredible, vulnerable, beautiful and dangerous.

Speechless... Powerful as any horror film ever created. Devastating on every level. Being infamous is one of the highest compliments that Martyrs can get cause it is really the measuring stick for modern horror.
  • Quinn Lord in Trick 'r Treat (2007)

DirectorWilliam FriedkinStarsAshley JuddMichael ShannonHarry Connick Jr.
It kept me off balance the entire time. Michael Shannon is one of the best modern actors of all time. He is so intense and yet vulnerable in this role. Ashley Judd and Harry Connick are casted perfect! Direction, pace, experience, feel... scary!

In my opinion this film is such true horror psychologically, emotional and deep within your soul. Again Michael Shannon is beyond amazing and you can't help wanting to believe and understand the horror he is going through till the end. Watched multiple times... Powerful! Taps into so many different and common fears.

This is one of the most well crafted old school horror films ever! Love to watch this one over and over again... TI West is a master filmmaker who takes what he loves and finds a a way to reinvent or reinvision horror that was thought to be overdone! Casting is great, feel is tingling, the music is well selected and the horror is top notch!

Never in my life have I walked out of theater and said I want to meet the man who wrote this masterpiece of suspense and horror. True it is more mainstream but I love that it got to a wide audience for all to witness great horror and be a part of an experience larger than the silver screen, life or death!

Hashimoto is trying to disclose why the energy of the ghost does not dissipate, and Tung discovers the identity and the dramatic story of the boy. Hashimoto deduces that the rage of the boy for his mother associated to the location where the body was buried were the reason to keep the energy. When the government decides to shutdown the research, Hashimoto becomes insane and takes the spirit with him.
DirectorChao-Bin SuStarsChang ChenYôsuke EguchiKarena Ka-Yan Lam
Such a smart genre film. Multiple plots going on while science lays the foundation and fits perfectly with the supernatural. Take your time and watch this film which lays perfectly in any number of sub genres of horror. Brilliant Asian horror filmmaking where style, substance and horror meet to entertain any genre or non-genre fan.
