Left-Wing Propaganda & Bias In TV & Cinema
Content that defines a TV series or movie as leftist:

(some of the traits listed here aren't necessarily proof enough by themselves but need to be accompanied by another trait from the list, whereas some traits act as sufficient proof on their own):
- Predominant, negative portrayal of white males, especially if female and/or non-white characters are disproportionately positively portrayed by comparison. (This applies much more to recent movies and TV shows, whereas it may be coincidental when it comes to older productions.)
- Jokes or jabs aimed at Republican and Tory leaders: Reagan, Trump, Bush Jr, Thatcher and Nixon being the names most commonly abused for such occasions, while no similar criticism or parody is aimed at any leftist leaders. (A lack of balance nearly always implies strong bias.)
- Black judges who dish out justice and white male judges that dish out injustice. (This cliche has been going on for decades in American productions, and constitutes one of the more subtle forms of Liberal indoctrination.)
- The unsubtle pushing of artificial, unrealistic, forced multiracial couples. (There is nothing wrong with interracial couples, but very often it is quite obvious when they're being misused in a political way rather in a natural, non-political way, though this has also a lot to do with the era when the TV show or movie was made: very recent productions nearly always include multiracial couples purely for propaganda purposes whereas this doesn't necessarily apply to older movies and TV shows when race relations weren't so fanatically focused on.)
- Positive or uncritical portrayal of the Soviet Union. (This especially applies to movies and TV shows produced before the fall of that empire.)
- Gay or lesbian characters that are far more positively portrayed then hetero ones.
- Gay relationships shown in a very positive light, plus a focus on gay sex.
- Total, uncritical, very open acceptance and promotion of gay marriage, and promotion of adoption by gay and lesbian couples.
- Blatant pushing of trans characters into the forefront, especially in a positive light. (Applies far more to recent productions, may not necessarily apply to movies older than 40-50 years.)
- Feminist characters or themes. (Sometimes this is done subtly, sometimes very much in-your-face aggressively.)
- Purely positive, uncritical, adulatory portrayals of suffragette movements, and especially of the 60s and 70s feminist movements.
- Very positive portrayal of hippies.
- Very positive portrayal of Greens.
- Implications or outright accusations that patriarchy reigns supreme in the West, and that it enslaves and brutalizes women.
- Hints or clear implications that in western society women are the victims and men are the victimizers, i.e. a black-and-white description of gender relations which defines men as evil or devious and women as innocent and faultless.
- Any hint, suggestion or outright claim that there are more than two genders.
- Climate change commentary, or even just quips intended to make us take it very seriously, or any kind of fear-mongering about climate change.
- Romantization or whitewashing of left-wing historical figures and current personalities, and any kind of positive comments on such people (for example, and most commonly: Gandhi, Mandela, Lenin, Che Guevara, John Kennedy, Obama, Trotsky, Chomsky, Michael Moore, Malcolm X, Muhammad Ali).
- Overly negative portrayals of right-wing historical figures. (Note: you do have to be able to distinguish between the Far Right and the Right, they have almost nothing in common - contrary to what you're being led to believe by the leftist media who as of recently label nearly all opposition as "the Far Right".)
- Cops are portrayed very negatively, as corrupt and/or vicious and/or very stupid, which also includes idiotic thrillers in which a detective turns out to be the killer.
- Any message or plea for transgender rights.
- Any appeals for leniency toward pedophiles, or attempts to humanize them, and any attempts to invoke pity or understanding for such characters.
- Clear-cut bias favoring the Republican (communist) side in the Spanish Civil War.
- Clear-cut bias favouring Chile's Allende while exaggerating the evils of Pinochet's regime.
- All political dramas or thrillers that very clearly favor the Democrats over the Republicans (which means practically all of them).
- Naive, overly sentimental, and excessively favorable portrayals of illegal immigrants, especially in the context of the Mexican border and the recent European refugee crisis, and particularly as it pertains to illegal non-white immigrants (which are nearly always idolized as morally pure and completely honest in their appeals for political asylum).
- A clear anti-Christian and pro-Muslim bias.
- Portrayal of Muslims as victims of Western capitalism and/or Christianity, and this includes the Palestinian cause (whereas anti-semitism itself I don't treat as an indication of anything because it isn't decidedly left or right-wing).
- Strong usage of terms such as "Western imperialism" in the context of western nations being involved in conflicts against communist regimes.
- Excessive, obvious, and/or repetitive bashing of capitalism, especially when its socialist counterpart is being positively portrayed as the ideal alternative.
- Favourable portrayal of terrorists, for example as "freedom fighters" and idealists who actually want to help their people.
- Very obvious application of DEI rules and regulations, especially in ways that harm the credibility of the setting and the characters' integrity.
- Anytime a white male central character, usually the hero, is replaced either by a black male or a female.
- Movies and TV shows that "jokingly" promote violence against Trump, against his supporters and against other right-wingers. (This does not include the Far Right, obviously.)
- Obvious appeals for intolerance toward the Right; movies and TV shows that promote the completely nonsensical and very dangerous idea that everybody on the Right is a Nazi, a racist and a sexist.
- Completely illogical or absurd misapplication of DEI to certain historical eras, for example the inclusion of female warriors in a Viking saga or African characters in an English village from the Middle Ages.
- Opposition to the death penalty, especially stories that glamorize or attempt to humanize dangerous murderers.
- Any plot which focuses on a person falsely accused of murder, especially when a potential death penalty looms ominously.
- When the journalistic profession is being overly idealized, when journalists are being portrayed as honest idealists rather than corrupt, cold-blooded headline-seekers, opportunists and liars.
- In a crime-related setting, placing much more focus on the rights of the accused or the perpetrator as opposed to the victims themselves.
- Any portrayal of current South African politics or the apartheid era - that is devoid of criticism of the ANC. Any kind of glorification and idealization of the ANC.
- Practically anything that deals with black slavery, especially with the American era of slavery, and especially if it was produced in the last 30 years - provided that these TV shows and movies omit facts such as black Africans owning or selling off other black Africans as slaves, or for example Arab-Muslim slave traders selling off black people to Westerners (things that literally never get mentioned anyway which is why practically 100% of slave-related historical films are left-wing).
- Any hint, implication, suggestion or especially outright claim that black people were the only victims of slavery throughout history.
- Any kind of black-and-white portrayal of black and white racial relations - which invariably favors black people as victims and vilifies whites as the oppressors.
- Anything overtly political that involves Nazis, in which the term "national-socialist" is never mentioned by anyone.
- Any drama in which all poor characters are portrayed as noble while rich characters are portrayed as egotistical and unemphatic: any kind of simplistic, one-sided portrayal of that kind. Especially if words such as "comrade" or "proletariat" are being thrown around in a way that isn't ironic.
