Larry David stars as an over-the-top version of himself in this comedy series that shows how seemingly trivial details of day-to-day life can precipitate a catastrophic chain of events.
    CreatorLarry DavidStarsLarry DavidCheryl HinesJeff Garlin
No. 1 of all time. This programme is hilarious if you can manage to get into it, it takes awhile for some people.
  • Rowan Atkinson in Blackadder (1982)

    Even better than Blackadder.
  • John Safran's Race Relations (2009)

    4. John Safran's Race Relations

    20098 epsTV Series
    8.1 (130)
John Safran is back with his most daring and personal adventure yet. It's about cross-cultural, interracial and interfaith love.
    CreatorJohn SafranStarsJohn SafranJustin HeazlewoodCostas Kilias
All of John Safran's television programmes are equally as good. But if I had to make a pick, I'd choose Race Relations. Saffran makes a fool out of himself, much of the time for real, while still providing an interesting documentary presented in exceptionally quirky ways.
  • Ricky Gervais in The Office (2001)

    5. The Office

    2001–200314 epsTV-MATV Series
    8.5 (129K)
The story of an office that faces closure when the company decides to downsize its branches. A documentary film crew follow staff and the manager David Brent as they continue their daily lives.
CreatorsRicky GervaisStephen MerchantStarsRicky GervaisMartin FreemanMackenzie Crook
British Office all the way. The U.S version is simply not funny at all, completely misses the point and style of humor!

Earlier seasons, the last ten or so haven't been as great.
  • Twisted Tales (1996)

    7. Twisted Tales

    1996–199812 epsTV Series
    7.1 (111)
Bryan Brown introduces stories of the bizarre and the supernatural. Sometimes serious, often comical, but always with a twist at the end of the story.
    StarsRachel WardGeoffrey RushKimberley Davies
Two series of this, made quite a few years apart from one another. Extremely hard to find these days. Had some top actors on this show, Bryan Brown repeatedly (as he hosted the programme), Geoffry Rush, Sam Neil, Vince Colossomo. I think the second series was slightly better.

    Second series of above.
  • Louis Theroux in Louis Theroux's Weird Weekends (1998)

    9. Louis Theroux's Weird Weekends

    1998–200017 epsNot RatedTV Series
    8.5 (3.4K)
Louis Theroux documents some of the US's most bizarre happenings, events and rituals, by getting involved himself.
    StarsLouis TherouxDavid PaulJ.J. Michaels
Louis Theroux, son of Paul Theroux is an incredibly annoying and entertaining gonzo style documentarian who always manages to come off as a total pussy and piss off everyone he comes into contact with. He also manages to expose ridiculousness in different parts society with his passive style of interrogative questioning.

    11. Rage

    1987– 185 epsTV Series
    8.1 (229)

On Saturdays rage features Specials and guest programmers. Saturday nights 'Specials' can feature one particular band or artist, so viewers can see a number of videos by their favourite artists all in the one night. Rage has no presenter except on Saturdays shows when rage has musicians as guest VJ's. Rage won "Best National Music Video Programme" in the 1991 Australian Music Industry Awards. It repeatedly wins "Most Popular Australian Music TV show" in the Australian Music Awards. In 1998, rage released a double cd compilation and in November 1999 a second double cd compilation was put together. Rage often plays old episodes of Bandstand and Countdown hosted by Molly Meldrum.
StarsQueens of the Stone AgeChris CornellPowderfinger
Though gone down hill the last couple of years due to playing increasingly larger amounts of lame-stream music, Rage is still the only music video source watchable on Australian television, a true treasure of public television, satisfying and tripping the up late, late night drugged up people for 24 years, with its bizarre and often obscure music videos from crazy drugged up bands every saturday night..

    8.7 (2.7K)
The show features sketches mocking social and political issues, and often feature comedic publicity stunts.
    StarsJulian MorrowAndrew HansenChris Taylor
Funny pranks, unfortunately has ended. Some segments were very lame and immature, but some times the sketches were so poignant, relevant and beautifully satirical and/or ironic. Especially great were pranks that were done in that Borat, Sasha Baron Cohen way. Made fools out of people that were so blissfully unaware.

Made some great points about Australian Politics.

Sometimes funny.. Not a really good ratio of funny to non-funny time though.

An Australian current affairs program that broadcasts stories on community issues such as diet fads, welfare cheats, negligent doctors and dodgy builders.
    StarsTracy GrimshawLeila McKinnonLeisa Goddard
Hilarious, sensational, over reactionary joke for journalism. Its so entertaining to watch the bad editing and overly antagonizing of the harassful journalists as they chase 'shonky' tradesmen down the street.

Its just a travesty that people don't see through these manipulators.
