When this news reaches Gopi and Kishen both are heartbroken, as much as Kishen would like to marry Gopi he knows that he is unemployed and poor, and hence not considered a good suitor. Additionally, his mentor and guardian, Raghunath, would like him to marry his daughter, Ramkali, and may ask him to make the ultimate sacrifice by demanding this as his guru-dakshina (teacher's fee). Then the villagers ask Kishen to leave the town as he has brought shame on them all by continuing to meet with Gopi, who has now been promised to Shekhar. Kishen leaves town, re-locates to Lucknow, meets with Shekhar, who gives him a job at the Radio Station. Soon Kishen's music reaches every corner of India and he becomes a rich man overnight. He returns home to wed Gopi, but finds out that Shekhar is to wed her, and he is just in time to play the clarinet at their wedding. It looks like Gopi and Kishen's romance is fated to end tragically - unless and until a miracle occurs that will unite them forever.

Prakash, who is Bela's husband, who had assisted her in getting married to Anand, to try and prove that her late father-in-law was insane, and when that fails she and her aunt, Nurse Sarla Verma, concoct a plot that Ratna's son is really Anand's biological son, leading to their lawyer filing a custodial case in Court. The question remains is Raju really Anand's son, will Ratna readily give away her child, and is Maya capable of bringing him up?

During Akbar's rule over Hindustan, the Mughal's considered Pathans their enemies and vice versa. As a result there was a war-like relation between Mandva's Sultan Sujat Khan and Akbar. But Sujat's son, Wajid, was a peace-maker and a lover of the arts. He befriended a Hindu Kshtriya, Rajkumari Rupmati, of Mandhavghar, and despite protests from her parents, brothers, and to-be husband, Baldev Singh, she re-located to Mandva, where Wajid build her a tower so that she could view and seek blessings from holy river Narmada, who had gifted her to Mandhavghar. She became instrumental in diverting Narmada to bring water to her drought-stricken hometown. After Sujat passes away, Wajid becomes the Sultan and is called Bagh Bahadur. Akbar hears about this and sends Sangeet Samrat Tansen to check out Rupmati as well as find out if they wanted peace or war. Tansen was welcomed, and assured that Wajid wanted nothing but peace. But their peaceful lives will soon be turned upside when Tansen gets abducted by Subedar Hafiz Khan, is held against his will. An enraged Akbar asks his Chieftain Adam Khan to storm Malwa and free Tansen. In the meantime, Hafiz' daughter, who is in love with Wajid, gets into Rupmati's palace - with one intent - to kill her. His sister, Parvati, on her own now, gets molested, but is rescued in the nick of time by Haridas' son, Dr. Manohar, who eventually marries her, much to the anger of his dad. When Ajit is released from prison, he comes to Haridas' house with a sharp knife, bent on vengeance at any cost, not knowing that his sister is married in this family.

Geeta Lal lives a wealthy lifestyle with her businessman dad, Rattan, who runs a vehicle showroom in Bombay. She meets with Raja, a new-comer to Bombay, and both fall in love with each other. Geeta introduces Raja to her dad, who approves of him, and he sets a date for their formal engagement, which will take place on the same day as Geeta's birthday. Rattan asks Raja to invite his parents, and finds out that his father is deceased, but his mom will be attending the ceremony. On the day of the ceremony, Rattan meets Raja's mom, a woman named Chanchal, and angrily breaks off any contact with Raja. A baffled and heartbroken Geeta must now find out why her dad, first approved Raja, and then rejected him. What Geeta does not know is that Raja does not love her - he is only out to avenge the death of his real mother, who was run over by Rattan's car years ago. Geeta also does not know that Rattan is not her biological father, but a brutal killer, who had knowingly killed her very own father, Madan. The Das family consists of widower, Barrister Mohan; his son - CID Inspector Sharad; and married daughter, Kamla; and a school-going son, Munna. Kamla is married to an army Captain. Sharad's marriage has been arranged with Karuna, who lives a wealthy lifestyle with her widowed father. After the marriage, the Police are notified that Ramesh has been killed and their investigations shows that the killer is a woman whose name starts with 'K'. Sharad is assigned this case, but is unable to proceed, and as a result his superior, SP Verma, closes the file. Then a Hotel Manager comes forth and identifies the killer as Karuna. Sharad and Verma accumulate enough evidence, then go to arrest Karuna, but find she is absconding, but she later returns home, and is arrested and held in a cell. She refuses to divulge any information as to why she killed Ramesh. Now the entire family's dirty laundry will be aired before an open courtroom where Mohan will prepare to defend his daughter-in-law, while Sharad will appear as a witness against his very own wife.

The Princess marries Kali and is aghast to find that he is illiterate, and dim-witted. Kali gets humiliated by the princess, and he decides to educate himself. His true love is still Pushpavali. But he is now married, and the princess will definitely not let him leave for a low-caste woman.

Chhoti Bahen is the story about the delicate but powerful bond of love. Rajendra and Shekhar lose their parents, and the all they have is each other, and their younger sister Meena. Though in love, Rajendra swears that he will not marry till his younger brother and sister are settled. Shekhar falls in love with a rich girl Shobha. Meanwhile, Meena's marriage is fixed. Misfortune strikes when Meena meets with an accident and is blinded forever. Shekhar, pressed on by an impatient Shobha, marries her and they go away to live with her rich father. Rajendra loses his job. To support his poor blind sister, he is desperate for a job.
