In this Western comedy, the King Soap Company is doing poorly, and the banker says that to receive a bank loan, they must have orders, so daughter Mabel heads west as a traveling saleswoman. Just before a saloon gunfight, the loser secretly slips Mabel a paper that contains evidence that will hang three rustlers. The rustlers think she has it and are now out to get her.

A mysterious stranger crosses paths with an outlaw bank robber and a greedy rancher.

Widow Mahoney, the best cook in town and hotel proprietor , along with her larcenous sons, is trying to take control of the town's water supply so she can acquire the valley ranchland cheaply.

Peggy Donovan enters an exclusive but financially-strapped finishing school for girls operated by Colonel Matthews and his sister Emily. Student Lucille Farnsworth discovers the Peggy carries $30,000 in her luggage and reports it to the Colonel. She also writes to a Chicago address on the luggage that Peggy is at the school. The letter puts gambler Dave Vickers on Peggy's trail. Peggy convinces the Colonel that the money is rightfully hers and offers to buy up the school's outstanding notes for a partnership. When Vickers arrives, Peggy confesses that her late father was a professional gambler and Vickers' partner. The latter claims half of the money which her father had saved away for her. She is willing to divide the money but when the Colonel learns it was won in a questionable card game, he turns it over to the police.

In 1803, the only thing standing between Napoleon and his plan of world domination is England and the British Navy. The admiralty, learning that Napoleon has assembled an invasion fleet decides to send out one of its vessels to destroy it the French flagship under cover of fog. Forced out of retirement, ruthless, tyrannical and temperamental Captain William Blake is put in command. He wields his command with sadistic fury until an epidemic of scurvy attacks the crew and, when he refuses to go ashore for needed provision, mutiny and insubordination results...and, then, the French flagship arrives.

William Holden plays a drifter who comes to a small town and discovers a cabin in the forest where five kids--January, February, March, April, and May--are living on their own. Their parents died a while ago, and they want to keep that a secret from the townspeople, especially the young schoolteacher (Coleen Gray), because they don't want to end up in a children's home and then eventually separated. Holden's character moves in with the kids and poses as their uncle to take care of them while romancing the teacher. However, in order to keep the children, he must get married.

College dean Susan meets British professor Alec who has her keepsake. Press agent Teddy falsely creates a romance story around them which spirals out of control despite their efforts to quash it.

An ice-cream seller unwittingly gets involved with a femme-fatale, leading to murder-charges, gangsters and factory payroll robberies.

Dagwood accidentally enlists in the Army reserve. Blondie accompanies him to basic training camp.

The plot involves Ireland, captain of a tired oil tanker, and Crawford, the ship's engineer. The pair soon find themselves at odds over their mutual affection for Drew (who happens to be Crawford's fiancee).

An Eastern syndicate, plotting to gain control of the western frontier, hires a gang led by Mort Black to drive out the settlers. Army undercover agent Lt. Jim Archer and young Pony Express rider Bill Cody join forces to combat the wide-spread outlaw attacks by Black and his gang.

Mary Scott learns she only has ten months to live before dying of an incurable disease. She manages to keep the news from her husband, Brad and daughter, Polly. She tries to make every moment of her life count, but her effort is weakened by the discovery that Brad is interested in his assistant, Chris Radner. But when she learns that Brad does indeed love her and not Chris, and that Chris is leaving town, she realizes what she must do to ensure the future happiness of Brad and Polly. She persuades Chris to stay, makes a genuine friend of her and watches Polly grow towards Chris.

Steve 'The Durango Kid' Norman is accused of a crime he didn't commit. With the help of his old friend Smiley Burnette Steve breaks jail to find the real culprits. The sneaky Ruth Dorn is Steve's main suspect.

Mr. Dithers has gone on vacation and left Dagwood to look after the company. Toby tries to take advantage of Dagwood's naiveté, but Blondie saves the day.

Two military academy majors clash over their differing approaches to the four juvenile delinquents assigned to their institution.

An umpire-hating ex-baseball player loses many jobs because of his passion for watching ball games during working hours, but he decides to combine business with pleasure by becoming an umpire himself.

Marian Medford Woodstock gave up a chance 20 years ago to compete for the Miss USA beauty title in order to marry Jeffrey Woodstock. She hopes to realize her past ambitions for fame and fortune through her daughter Kay, whom she persuades to enter a local beauty contest. Kay wins and is interviewed by reporter Gil McRoberts, who advises her to get married and settle down. Jeffrey is very upset with his wife's and daughter's passion for beauty contests and, when Kay enters the national contest, he informs Marian that she must choose between him and her chase after empty honors for Kay.

A potentially violent screenwriter is a murder suspect until his lovely neighbor clears him. However, she soon starts to have her doubts.

U. S. Customs is trying to stop the illegal export of a miracle drug to China. A Customs agent in Shanghai inadvertently gets his partner killed and is fired. The now ex-agent goes on a drinking spree, and is approached by the black market gang to help them work around Customs. A few plot twists.

When some of his crew are captured by the Spaniards in Rio De La Hacha, pirate Captain Peter Blood enters the city in disguise in order to free his men from Marquis De Riconete's prison.

Stanton, backed by the citizen's peace patrol making him the only armed man in town but actually the head of a gang of crooks, has Julia Beck elected mayor as an honest front for his activities. Her father, Walt Beck, sends for Steve Drake/The Durango Kid to help fight Stanton, but Stanton has Beck killed and Durango is blamed. The Texas Dynamo, a gunman sent for by Stanton, dies on the trail and Steve rides into town posing as the Texas outlaw. He convinces Julia of Stanton's double-crossing use of the peace patrol, but not before Stanton also frames her brother, Bill Beck, for a robbery.

Cowboy movie star Stoney Rhodes (Jock Mahoney as Jock O'Mahoney) has made one western film and thinks he is on a personal appearance tour paid for by the studio, but he and his film were so bad that the studio, unknown to Stoney, has cancelled his contract, and his mother has mortgaged her home to supply the funds necessary for the tour and expenses of Stoney and his agent. (Stoney is shown in front of two theatres where Columbia, missing no bets, has displays of one-sheet posters from "Strawberry Roan" with Gene Autry and "The Undercover Man" with Glenn Ford.) Reporter Vera Wright (Jeff Donnell), following him to get a story of a failure, informs Stoney that he is a never-was has-been, and they find themselves stranded in the hometown of Eddy Arnold, where Eddy's film "cousin" Carolina Cotton (Carolina Cotton) quickly takes a shine to the shy and clumsy Stoney. Eddy sees a print of Stoney's film in which the character is singing "I Can't Shake the Sands of Texas From My Shoes" and is impressed and telephones his agent Sam Baker (Fred Sears) to come there quickly and sign Stoney to a contract, especially since he sounds like Gene Autry. Meanwhile, some bank robbers and gangsters get involved and have their eyes on the proceeds from a charity fund-raiser Eddy is doing. When the agent shows up to sign Stoney to a recording contract because "you sound like Gene Autry", Stoney says that is because it was Gene Autry doing the singing in the film. The film is somewhat of an inside joke built around ace stuntman Mahoney, in that his Stoney role is the opposite of his real-life abilities, and most of the males in the cast, Big Boy Williams, Douglas Fowley, Don Harvey and Charles Sullivan, takes turns beating him up and knocking him out...when he isn't falling out of hay lofts or involved in accidents. But a kiss from Carolina makes a new man out of him and the gangsters are rounded up in a one-man blitz, and Stoney ends up with eight studios bidding for his services. Eddy performs most of his best-selling hits of the day, with the exception of "Cattle Call", the vastly-underrated Carolina Cotton (as a performer and actress with a personality) yodels up a storm, and this overall turns out to be a pretty fair little sleeper, especially in regards to films where Hollywood takes a poke at itself.And probably unknown to those who go around compiling such lists.

Roger Manners (Warner Baxter), a former aircraft manufacturer is wrongly accused and convicted of embezzlement of $400,000 and is given a long prison sentence. There he must decide rather or not to get involved in a prison break, or stay there while his wife, Shirley (Karin Booth), can prove his innocence by playing at romance with the real culprit. More stock footage and narration than dialogue.

When King John imposes oppressive taxes and cruel treatment upon the local population in medieval England, the son of legendary bandit Robin Hood reforms his father's "Merry Men" to once more rise against the king.

Based on the long-running radio program created by Philips H. Lord, the film opens with a radio commentator blasting the U. S. government for the manner in which a certain foreign power has obtained secret information during WWII. The commentator is brought to the secret headquarters of "David Harding, Counterspy" where he learns that the story was deliberately planted with the commentator to fool the enemy. Harding them tells, in flashback, a specific story to illustrate how counter-espionage works. Jerry Baldwin, a U.S. Navy officer is brought to a city where torpedoes are manufactured for the Navy, and his assignment is to find out information is leaking out to the enemy.
