Gen-X: Check The Newspaper For Movie Times! (1979-1985)
Oh, how did we do it? If we wanted to know what movie was playing when and where, we had to look in the newspaper! There in the Entertainment/Living section would be these glorious advertisements in black and white of current release movie posters with their showtimes and locations. Movie posters were an art form then. A one shot to get your attention and hopefully get you to buy a ticket. Not like the soulless, A.I.-generated-head salad movie posters we sadly and tragically see today. Check your time. Call your friend from your home phone to their home phone. Get on your bike and get over to the mall or that free standing two-screen not too far from your house. Your movie starts soon! You better get going so you can get a good seat!
