The adventures of four convicts who were given fourteen days of freedom on the basis of good conduct, and their attempts to adapt in rather changed environment.

In order to save Jewish girl from the Nazis and their colaborators, Croatian family arranges her to be wed to their young son. Young man is displeased with sudden end to his careless youth and he doesn't seem to like the girl or the whole idea. However, when she gets caught in a street raid, it is too late - he must face the fact that he loves her. Young man starts looking for her, even if it means hat he would go to the very center of concentration camp - the Ninth Circle.

Through several entangled stories, province atmosphere is shown, in which new ideas are hard to penetrate. Parallel with the seventh anniversary of peasant's cooperative farm, activity of a priest, who wants to restore the iconostases, is followed. Local photographer intrigues - in small town in which the villagers want to become football champions.

After one of the pupils lost his pencil in the classroom, the other children accuse Dika that he stole it. Dika decides to fight for the truth, and luckily his teacher is the only one who believes him.

At a church in the country, eternally optimistic John marries Maria, his Atomic War Bride, as a war starts, planes buzz overhead and bombs start dropping. Though John is "mobilized" by the military seconds after the ceremony, he and Maria are reunited just in time for the Big Bang!

The movie is based on true events that occured in Croatian city of Karlovac in 1941. In order to save the imprisoned high ranking member of the resistance movement, the group of Partizans are conducting daring raid in the very center of the enemy stronghold.

Kosmet in the fall of 1944. The Partisans have successfully liberated the town of Prizren from occupying Germans,and Ramiz Lesi, a brave and cunning KNOJ captain, has to liquidate the remainder of the local Quislings, called Balists. They are led by a ruthless, German-trained soldier Kosta and by Ahmet, the brother of the famous Captain.As Ramiz is trying to get Ahmet out of the gang and hunt down the rest of the Balists, 2 new girls arrive in town. One of them is Lola, a bar singer with a questionable agenda, and the other is Vida, a withdrawn music teacher from Belgrade.

Mane Karakas came to a little town on the sea shore to dig a water hole for watering system. He tried to brighten up town's sleepy atmosphere. Local journalist didn't understood Karakas well, so he published news about new popular melody festival in town. When it came to signing the contract, Mane explains it is all a big misunderstanding. But singers and orchestras arrived. Music is everywhere, but Mane goes elsewhere to research oil.

After the war, a Yugoslav army captain, Vladimir, is in charge of suppressing armed supporters of the former king's regime, led by major Momir. After Vladimir's best friend is killed, he joins the rebels pretending to be one of the king's supporters. However, one of Momir's supporters, a man who harbors rebels, has an attractive daughter who is engaged to marry Momir. She knows that Vladimir is an officer of the Yugoslav army, because she has seen him wearing a Yugoslav uniform. Vladimir fears that she might betray him.

To make money for the aerial review, a group of students organize the fashion program for the "Yugochic" company, doing some small frauds as well.

The film has two stores. Story 1: A group f partisans, fighting against the enemy and harsh winter storm, comes to the village where locals are hostile to them. Story 2: One night during the war, a daughter of railway station chief helps the wounded partisan commander to escape; however Germans discover her deeds, and kill her.
