A pilot who wants to be an airplane designer and a scientist who wants to learn more about flying meets, fell into love, flies over a mountain, and sings a lot.

Mr. Fitos, a skilled worker at the Porcelain Factory, is ridiculed on the factory bulletin board for his slow work. His daughter Juliska is being courted by Berci Patak. They join forces to improve the work of the brigade. Berci doesn't go along with them, so Juliska breaks up with him, but their friends persuade Berci to learn turning, to prove to Juliska that he can learn the new craft and is worthy of her love.

This comedy gives us an insight into the cultural life of the 1950s. As a counterpoint, the young, innovative workers appear, who represent a positive direction in music as well.

In the coal mine of the fictitious village called Sajókút, the tunnel collapses on the people there due to a botched explosion. Those trapped try to fight for survival, while those left on the surface try with all their might to save them.
