Marvel v DCEU

by dtswpod • Created 2 years ago • Modified 2 years ago
Is it possible that the reason Marvel films do so much better at the box office than DC is because, other than Batman, a majority of movie goers simply don't find DC super heroes to be interesting?

Just as an example, both Black Panther and Spider-Man are fairly flawed guys trying to figure out what the best thing is to do. What are Superman and Wonder Woman's flaws? How are they relatable? Even worse, when they do try to make Superman more compelling they turn him into a murder machine. Which is a total betrayal of the character. Superman is not a killer. He's the definition of a Boy Scout but, I guess some film makers don't know how to do that portrayal?

In any case, I suspect audiences simply find a Spider-Man to be more compelling a character to watch than a Wonder Woman.
