San Francisco café owner Ray Alexander moonlights as a detective. His new case has him looking into the murder of a Judge.

Time passes and things change. So have Scott and Robinson. Scott has become a college professor and Robinson holds a high enough position with the S.S.A.. Actually, their children are now the agents. It's their first mission, and they must babysit some Russian scientists But the loving fathers that they are, follow them to make sure their babies don't get hurt. What happens next is a mix of action and comedy involving the CIA, the KGB, China, and old friends from the old world.

MacShayne is a gambler and small time con-man. After serving a short stretch in jail, he goes to Las Vegas to see his son, but when he gets there, his ex-wife is no longer where she use to live and work and left no forwarding address. Leggett, a recently retired cop, approaches him and tells him that he will help him find his son, if he does something for him. It seems that he is planning to rob a hotel casino and he needs three guys to pull it off. Now two of the guys he recruited has agreed to it but the third is uncertain, so he sets up a poker game wherein MacShayne is suppose to clean him out thus giving Leggett some leverage on him. After doing that he discovers that Leggett is duplicitous and is going stab everybody in the back. So he decides to turn the tables on him.

Jeff also is hired by a magazine publisher, who is actually the son of the businessman that originally framed Jeff, for a travel column and attempts to mend fences with his bitter father Jack, as well as Cary and Ellen. This was actually the pilot for a new TV series that never got off the ground as Michael Landon passed away in the summer of 1991.
