Coming 15 years after Tron: Legacy, this third film in the franchise introduces a new cast to the computer world of Tron. The all-star cast is led by Jared Leto, and features Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Jodie Turner-Smith, Gillian Anderson, and Jeff Bridges, with a score by Nine Inch Nails.

Are you down for more of The Mule and to potentially meet Magnifico Giganticus? If you know who we’re talking about (and why), chances are you aren’t the kind of people who need to pause every “Foundation” episode to get a better understanding of what’s taking place so beautifully on Apple TV+. Not since “The Expanse” have we fully surrendered to a sci-fi series and deep-dived after every episode, every season to learn more about Isaac Asimov’s world. In Season 3, it looks like the Galactic Empire and the First and Second Foundations finally might align against the singular force who can destroy everything they’re already at war over, and you can 100% look forward to more of Lee Pace doing his Jesus in the desert thing.

No Ripley. No Earth as we've come to know it. No "beautiful Apple store technology" powering the special effects. This much we know about "Fargo" creator Noah Hawley's Alien series – oh, erm, aside from its storyline possibly retconning the entire franchise. The teaser trailer released near the end of 2024 revealed the series will be set in 2120, two years prior to Alien – not, as originally announced by Hawley, three decades before the first movie. Sydney Chandler, most recently seen in the Colin Farrell series "Sugar," plays a "meta-human" and property of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation, which is racing against other companies to create synthetic beings. While the main story will focus on the group of soldiers who discover the first Xenomorph to reach Earth, expect to learn a lot more about Weyland-Yutani over 8+ hours of television as Hawley takes a risk with franchise canon after Alien: Romulus righted the ship with fans.

Trekkies have been loving Star Trek’s return to the time-honoured tradition of episodic storytelling in “Strange New Worlds.” But Season 3 will be kicking things off with another beloved franchise format: the two-part cliffhanger. When we last saw Captain Pike and the Enterprise crew, their rescue mission had gone awry, leaving some members captured by the Gorn and the Captain unsure what to do next. The season will drop two episodes on July 17 so fans can see both the conclusion and a little more of what’s in store for Starfleet this summer as they seek out new life and new civilizations.

Filming has wrapped on the final season of this beloved supernatural horror series, which cemented terms like the Upside Down and demagorgon in our collective vocabulary, and fans are waiting impatiently to be transported back to 1987 Hawkins, Indiana to close out the adventure. We've all grown up alongside the cast of former kids, who have since become household names, and can't wait to see what awaits Eleven, Mike, Dusty, Lucas, and the rest of the crew. Joining the cast for Season 5 are Nell Fisher, Jake Connelly, Alex Breaux, and none other than Linda Hamilton (Teminator) in an undisclosed role, which has us screaming internally in anticipation.

Season 5 premieres on Netflix in 2025 in three parts: Part 1 on Nov. 26, Part 2 on Dec. 25, and the final episode on Dec. 31

Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons reunite with director Yorgos Lathimos for this remake of Jang Joon-hawn’s 2003 sci-fi comedy Save the Green Planet. Not much is known yet about Lathimos’ latest, but we’re reasonably sure Stone and Plemons will be at the center of this story about two conspiracy theorists kidnapping a CEO they believe is a malicious alien.

You don’t want to go into a “Black Mirror” episode knowing too much. The series’ shocking twists and turns are the reason fans keep tuning in year after year. So what can be revealed about the seventh season of this cyber thriller? In many ways the latest installments will be going “back to basics,” says series creator Charlie Brooker, who claims these six episodes are “a little bit OG.” We’re also getting a follow-up to the award-winning “USS Callister” in the series’ first sequel. But if those tidbits don’t intrigue, the impressive cast is sure to do the trick, including Cristin Milioti, Awkwafina, Emma Corrin, Paul Giamatti, Rashida Jones, Billy Magnussen, Chris O’Dowd, Issa Rae, and Tracee Ellis Ross just to name a few.

The popular Capcom video game “Devil May Cry” is getting an animated adaptation, and there’s a lot to get excited for. Created and executive produced by Adi Shankar (“Castlevania,” ‘Dredd’), the eight-episode first season follows Dante (Johnny Yong Bosch), a demon hunter for hire, as he faces sinister forces while unaware the fate of the world hangs around his neck. Shankar partnered with Studio Mir (“The Legend of Korra,” “The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf”) on the project’s animation saying the studio’s portfolio “speaks for itself.”

It’s time to close the book on Gilead, the handmaids, and the woman at the center of the revolution. Season 6 of this dystopian adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s classic novel marks the end of the series, which has been on the air for nearly a decade starting in 2017. Although June escaped the totalitarian “Divine Republic” back in Season 4, the final 10 episodes see the revolutionary return to help lead the army of handmaidens in an all-out rebellion. All of the main players return to resolve their stories, including Elisabeth Moss, Yvonne Strahovski, Bradley Whitford, Max Minghella, Ann Dowd, O.T. Fagbenle, Samira Wiley, Madeline Brewer, with D’arcy Carden (“The Good Place,” “Barry”) joining the cast to close out the show. If you’re feeling sad to see your favorite series end, never fear. Hulu has already announced they’ll be adapting Atwood’s sequel, “The Testaments,” into a spin-off series.

Ash has the kind of compelling hook irresistible to genre fans: a woman (Eiza González) awakens on a strange planet with no memory of who she is or how she got there, surrounded by the brutally murdered members of her supposed crew. When a man (Aaron Paul) arrives to rescue her, the lone astronaut must decide if she can trust his story as the mystery of their surroundings unfolds. Director Flying Lotus (aka Steven D. Bingley-Ellison), best known to horror fans for his short “Ozzy’s Dungeon” in the horror anthology film V/H/S/99, is a veteran of the film festival scene. His first feature, Kuso, premiered at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival, where the director received the highest praise a horror creator can get when audience members reportedly walked out of the theater. Now, he’s headed to SXSW with Ash to terrorize a whole new cinema full of eager fans before the film eventually lands on Shudder later this year.

Season 3 of this high fantasy series is shaping up to be its most epic yet. Daring battles and political intrigue are a must for a Robert Jordan adaptation, but this time we’ll also get to see Rand al’Thor (Josha Stradowski) explore his power as the Dragon Reborn alongside Moiraine Damodred (Rosamund Pike), who must protect him from impending corruptions. Prepare yourself for some new characters along the way, including Olivia Williams as Queen Morgase Trakand, Shohreh Aghdashloo as Elaida a’Roihan, and Isabella Bucceri as Faile Bashere, among others. Prime Video already gave fans a little treat by releasing the first 11 minutes as an early sneak peak, but they’ll do it again come March 13 when they drop the first three episodes of the eight-episode season all at once.

Netflix subscribers are in for a treat when this adaptation of Simon Stålenhag’s graphic novel hits the platform. The film, a dystopian road movie set in an alternate version of 1997, follows Michelle (Millie Bobby Brown), a teen searching for her family among the silent wreckage of a post-war southwest. Chris Pratt, Ke Huy Quan, Stanley Tucci, and Patti Harrison round out the all-star cast as fellow survivors Brown will encounter along the way. Helmed by Anthony and Joe Russo, we’re excited to see how the directing duo and their cinematographer Stephen F. Window ('The Gray Man,' 'Star Trek Beyond') tackle Stålenhag’s vision of a world filled with massive robots rotting along familiar California highways.

It's time to return to work at Lumon Industries. It’s been more than 2 years since "Severance" Season 1 wrapped and we realized just how much this show had affected our personal and professional lives. We know some creative tensions delayed Season 2, but let's focus on what could be in store for Mark (Adam Scott), Helly (Britt Lowery), and their Macrodata Refinement teammates this season. As all of the innies know fragments of their outie lives, Season 2 should reveal more of how Mark's wife Gemma became Ms. Casey, the wellness counselor on Lumon's severed floor, and how Helly can go to work every day knowing she's actually the daughter of Lumon's CEO. We hope the Dylan (Zach Cherry) and Milchick (Tramell Tillman) chess game will get plenty of air time as the employee has some power over the truly frightening authoritarian who might initiate a "Clean Slate" protocol over his subjects. And something tells us we might only get a glimpse of the floors below the severed floor that Irving (John Turturro) might know about.

Class disparity, corporate cruelty, and the power of worker solidarity are at the center of Bong Joon-ho’s latest film, his first since the 2019 Oscar-winning Parasite. Robert Pattinson stars as Mickey, a poor person whose dead-end prospects lead him to become an expendable – aka a clone sent on perilous missions often resulting in death. But the inhumane job becomes truly lethal when Mickey 17 survives and is confronted by Mickey 18, a hard-edged psycho unwilling to help his doomed counterpart. Pattinson drew on a variety of inspirations for his roles, including classic anime and Steve Buscemi’s character in Fargo. But it’s not just his work we’re excited to see. Steven Yeun, Mark Ruffalo, Toni Collette, and Naomi Ackie will also play pivotal roles in this class satire that reminds us we’re stronger together than we are apart.

Apple TV+ continues their winning streak of original sci-fi programming with a new show poised to be a hit with genre fans. Based on “The Murderbot Diaries” – Martha Welles’ Hugo and Nebula Award-winning series – “Murderbot” follows a security construct who has jailbroken himself and now possesses free will. But instead of rebelling or running away, the cyborg keeps his freedom a secret, passing the time during security shifts by watching his favorite soap operas. With creators Paul and Chris Weitz (About a Boy) behind the wheel, and Alexander Skarsgård (The Northman, “Big Little Lies”) in the lead role, we’re already sold on this comedic sci-fi series.

Be prepared for a very different Westeros in HBO’s latest “Game of Thrones” prequel series. Based on George R. R. Martin’s “Tales of Dunk and Egg” novellas, “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” follows a newly minted knight and his squire on their adventures throughout the land 90 years before the Starks, Targaryens, and Lannisters. According to Martin, the six-episode season is “smaller in scale, more personal, with more humor, more focus on character … but there is danger and death as well.” Newcomers Peter Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell star as the leading duo, and we’re excited to see where executive producers Ira Parker and Owen Harris — you know him as the director of the only heartwarming “Black Mirror” episode, “San Junipero” — take this lighter look at a beloved fantasy world.

Now that Fede Alvarez's interquel story that's set between the first two Alien movies has steadied the franchise, we're looking forward to what Noah Hawley has in store for us with the upcoming series "Alien: Earth."

Get ready, Dune heads, because we’re traveling way back in time for Max’s “Dune: Prophecy.” Set 10,000 years before Paul Atreides arrival on Arrakis, the prequel series follows two Harkonnen sisters as their battle to protect humanity from outside threats leads to the formation of the Bene Gesserit. Devoted fans of the novels take note, the show’s story is inspired by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson’s Sisterhood of Dune rather than a direct adaptation.
