God smiled on this date when Cameron Mitchell was born in 1918 in Dallastown, PA.

Cameron served in World War II and his first film appearance was in 1945.  He appeared in 131 films in a wide variety of genres: drama (65); action (39); horror (23); crime (20); and westerns (16).

Mitchell's career spanned 45 years from 1945 to 1990.  He was very productive during the decades from the 50's through the 80s appearing in 88% of his films.
