After more than three decades, Chuck Norris remains open to doing a sequel to Sidekicks. Directed by Aaron Norris and written by Lou Illar and Galen Thompson, Sidekicks starred late actor Jonathan Brandis as a bullied child named Barry who dreams of being the sidekick of his favorite action movie star, Chuck Norris. In the daydream sequences, Norris plays himself, serving as a mental mentor for the young hero. Barry eventually sees his dreams come true when he teams up with Norris and actually becomes the Delta Force star's sidekick.
