Baz grew up in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and moved to London after winning a place on Lord Puttnam's prestigious 'Jobfit' course. He graduated in the camera department and went on to work as an assistant on many feature films for Cinematographers such as Barry Ackroyd BSC, and Seamus McGarvey ASC, BSC. These films included "The Full Monty", "The War Zone" and five films for director Ken Loach.
As a Director of Photography, Baz has shot many award-winning short films, including 2002's "Relativity" which won the Berlin Film Festival and Martin McDonagh's directorial debut "Six Shooter" which won the Oscar in 2006. He has continued to shoot drama projects world wide & was nominated for an ASC award in 2025 for his work as lead Dop on 'Silo' - season 2. Baz has just wrapped on 'Mobland' for Paramount Plus.
