Exclusive: Samuel Goldwyn Films has acquired North American rights to The Last Rifleman, a WWII veteran drama starring Pierce Brosnan (The Great Lillian Hall).

Written by Kevin Fitzpatrick and directed by Terry Loane, the film will be released in theaters on November 8. Other titles set for that frame include Focus Features’ awards prospect Conclave from Edward Berger, Lionsgate’s family comedy The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, Vertical’s sci-fi thriller Elevation starring Anthony Mackie and Morena Baccarin, and Sony/Crunchyroll’s Overlord: The Sacred Kingdom.

Well, this was an eventful episode, though it didn’t really take the story forward. Law & Crime Network will premiere “Prime Crime Tonight” on Sept. 25 at 9:30 p.m. The true crime program, hosted by attorney and anchor Jesse Weber, will take a deep dive into criminal cases that have garnered national attention in recent years. Weber will join experts and people involved in the cases to revisit police interrogation footage, 911 phone calls and moments in court.

Pierce Brosnan is set to star in the true story of a World War II veteran called “The Last Rifleman,” and WestEnd Films has boarded the project to present it to buyers at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival, WestEnd Films announced Tuesday.

Terry Loane will direct Brosnan in “The Last Rifleman” as Artie Crawford, a veteran living in an assisted living home in Northern Ireland who on the 75th anniversary of D-Day escapes from his home and travels to the beaches of Normandy in France to pay his final respects.

The film’s story, written by Kevin Fitzpatrick, is inspired by Bernard Jordan, who at 89 years old did much the same thing on the 70th anniversary of D-Day in June 2014 when he snuck out of his care home in East Sussex and boarded a ferry to France and Normandy.

Principal photography will begin this winter in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

New Orleans-based sports reporter Carley McCord was among the five people killed on Saturday when a small plane crashed into the parking lot of a post office in Lafayette, Louisiana, the Associated Press reported.

McCord — who covered the New Orleans Pelicans and the New Orleans Saints and freelanced as a sideline reporter for a number of networks, including ESPN and Wdsu — was on her way to Atlanta for the Peach Bowl game between Louisiana State University and University of Oklahoma when the plane went down shortly after takeoff.

To some it may seem ironical to see American filmmaker Paul Schrader’s “Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters” experience a similar notoriety as the man Yukio Mishima himself during his lifetime. Despite the fact it was shot in Japan and Schrader’s careful recognition of the country’s culture as well as its difficult relationship with the author, to this day the film has not been released in Mishima’s home country. Even though the reasons for that may be quite nebulous to many – an essay titled “Banned in Japan”, included in the Criterion release of the film might shed some light into that affair –, the significance of the film as a portrayal of a controversial artist fits perfectly into Paul Schrader’s predilection as a filmmaker and writer for the anti-hero, the protagonist who cannot be categorized and will challenge its viewer, even after the end credits.

Free the three! Now we can have a real day of the dead. Just when you thought there was no justice in this world, the first full-length 3 From Hell trailer promises a bloodbath and a devil of a time. The odds were a million to one against Capt. Spaulding (Sid Haig), Otis Firefly (Bill Moseley), and Vera-Ellen "Baby" Firefly (Sheri Moon Zombie) surviving their standoff with the police at their last rampage, but with a little faith, nothing is impossible.

3 From Hell is a family movie. The Firefly family has a deadly tradition going back to 2003, with Rob Zombie's directorial debut House of 1000 Corpses making way for the 2005 sequel The Devil's Rejects. Written and directed by Rob Zombie, the trilogy tells the story of Dr. Satan and his merry band of murderous misfits.

Rob Zombie's 3 from Hell is set to be unleashed on moviegoers this fall for a special, limited run. The latest from the musician turned filmmaker serves as a sequel to House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects. He's partnered with Lionsgate and Saban Films for a special three-night event this September, which will see Fathom Events broadcasting the unrated cut of his latest horror offering, allowing for maximum carnage. Lionsgate President of Worldwide Home Entertainment Ron Schwartz had this to say.

TV contributor Kevin Jackson, who was given the boot by Fox News last Thursday after calling Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s sexual-assault accusers “lying skanks,” is lashing out at his former employer for allowing other hosts and contributors to stay, despite their extramarital transgressions.

“Fox is dumb,” the pro-Trump host told Joe Piscopo on his Monday morning radio show, adding that Fox News tried to have him say “something” in order to save his job, though he would not say exactly what.

Updated to note Kevin Jackson has been terminated: Fox News has fired contributor Kevin Jackson after he launched a scathing Twitter rant Thursday in which he used crude language to attack the credibility of Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s accusers, calling them “lying skanks.”

The news network condemned the remarks as “reprehensible” and that Jackson has been terminated.

“His comments on today’s hearings were reprehensible and do not reflect the values of Fox News,” the network said in a statement.

As Dr. Christine Blasey Ford appeared this morning before the Senate Judiciary Committee to offer her account of sexual assault at a high school gathering by a drunken teenager she identifies as Kavanaugh, Jackson turned to Twitter to attack her appearance, her academic credentials and her credibility.

Rob Zombie has been on the road with Marilyn Manson for the past few weeks, as the sinister duo is in the final stretch of their Twins of Evil: The Second Coming Tour. While this means that editing and finalizing his sequel to The Devil's Rejects, Three from Hell, has had to take a backseat to Zombie's musical duties, the shock-rocker-turned-filmmaker has been doing his damnedest to keep fans titillated. In addition to sharing the film's first teaser with stadium-sized audiences, he's released a couple choice, mugshot-style character posters for Captain Spaulding (played by Sid Haig) and Otis Driftwood (played by Bill Moseley). Today, Zombie released the final character poster via Instagram, where he stated:

Baby, Otis and Captain Spaulding have survived the bloody finale of The Devil's Rejects and are coming back in director Rob Zombie's latest gore splattered epic Three from Hell. The movie has officially wrapped, and now Zombie is sharing a look at the first teaser trailer, which promises the bloodiest resurrection since Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ. He offers this message to fans.

"Keep your eyes peeled for the Three From Hell trailer during our show! A little preview for you all. It not often you get to watch 14,000 people watch a trailer."

Three From Hell brings back Sheri Moon Zombie as Baby, Bill Moseley as Otis and the great Sid Haig as Captain Spaulding. The movie will be in theaters sometime in 2019. Rob Zombie hasn't started post production, as he's on the road with his 'Twins of Evil' tour, appearing alongside Marilyn Manson.

It must be said, cult horror director Rob Zombie has been doing a pretty effective job at keeping us in the loop and invested in the production of the upcoming 3 from Hell, all while keeping plot details tantalizingly vague.

The steady stream of information continues today with another Instagram post featuring a trio of smartly dressed men on the set of the long-awaited follow-up to 2003’s House of 1000 Corpses and 2005’s The Devil’s Rejects. Seen in the gallery below, it came accompanied with the following caption: Another Three From Hell exclusive! The suits are always dealing with The Rejects insanity. Featuring in this shot Kevin Jackson, Wade Williams and @jeffdanielphillips.

Since it’s already been heavily implied that a legal trial will be a key point of focus in the movie, it’s safe to assume that these men will be dealing with the criminal case of 3 from Hell‘s titular psychos.

Rob Zombie has shared the first poster for his latest movie 3 from Hell. The movie came as something of a surprise as the director and musician announced filming of the sequel had commenced in March. He made quick work of it and wrapped filming in April before heading out on tour with Marilyn Manson. Now, Zombie has shared the first poster for the horror flick, which features the character of Otis flipping us off, as well as a new photo of Baby, which sheds some light on the plot.

The poster, which is the first in a series of five forthcoming character posters, was shared by Rob Zombie on Instagram. The poster features Bill Moseley back as Otis Driftwood, who seemingly died in a hail of gunfire at the end of The Devil's Rejects with the rest of the Firefly Family.
