11 Years Ago, WWE Signed the Closest Thing to Stone Cold and That Gamble Nearly Paid Off
Image
Kevin Owens signed on to WWE on August 12, 2014, and joined the Nxt branch of the promotion. It has been eleven years since Triple H made the move to bring Owens, who had been grinding in the independent circuit for 14 years, into WWE.

On this day in 2014 WWE announced they had signed Kevin Steen to a contract. pic.twitter.com/AOB2dIfJyY

— Cultaholic Wrestling (@Cultaholic) August 12, 2025

Owens didn’t prove to be a disappointment as he won several titles during his tenure in the company. He even went on to become WWE’s 23rd overall Grand Slam Champion after winning the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 39. However, his most famous feud storyline in the company was with Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Austin, who retired from the ring in 2003, became an inspiration for Owens over the years, with the wrestler even adapting Stone Cold’s Stunner move. In 2022, Owens badly...

Avengers: Doomsday Set Photos Tease Comics-Accurate Nightcrawler Suit
Image
Avengers: Doomsday should follow one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's biggest Multiverse Saga movies and give a major X-Men character his comics-accurate suit, as one set photo teases the film doing just that. Deadpool & Wolverine was Marvel's most important project to date when it comes to the X-Men. It broke box office records, becoming one of the McU's best movies.

Hugh Jackman debuted as Wolverine in 2000's X-Men. Despite the fact that he would go on to star in a Wolverine trilogy and multiple X-Men movies, Fox never once had him wear Wolverine's yellow and blue costume from the comics. It only took Jackman one film in the MCU to have that corrected, and the other X-Men should face the same.

On Instagram, Alan Cumming seemingly revealed that Nightcrawler will don a comics-accurate suit in Avengers: Doomsday.

Ryan Reynolds Hints Deadpool in Avengers: Doomsday Despite Marvel’s Concerning Report
Image
Ryan Reynolds has sent the Marvel fandom into a frenzy! Thanks to his cryptic Instagram post that suggests Deadpool might be joining Earth’s mightiest heroes in Avengers: Doomsday or even Avengers: Secret Wars. The actor shared an image of the Avengers logo in black-and-white, but it had a red spray-painted ‘A’ on top of it.

The color is famously associated with his character, and the way it’s painted on top of the logo seems like something that’s straight out of Deadpool’s playbook. But Marvel has already unveiled the cast of Avengers: Doomsday through an enormous announcement livestream in March.

So, let’s look at why we’re suddenly being teased and if there’s a possibility of Deadpool appearing in the next Avengers movies.

Deadpool & Wolverine Star Ryan Reynolds Shares Cryptic Avengers Tease - Is It For Doomsday?
Image
Deadpool & Wolverine brought the Merc with the Mouth into the MCU, but despite visiting the Tva and The Void, much of the action played out on Earth 10005, a.k.a. the X-Men Universe.

The movie concluded with Wade Wilson and Logan becoming (reluctant) BFFs, and the expectation now is that we'll see them and Earth 10005's mutants in next December's Avengers: Doomsday. However, neither Ryan Reynolds nor Hugh Jackman has been confirmed for the movie.

Reynolds has everyone talking today after sharing a post with the Avengers logo covered by a red anarchy-style "A." A different version of this piece of imagery was included as a flag in Deadpool & Wolverine; you may recall seeing it in Cassandra Nova's base.

Is this Reynolds confirming his return as the Merc with the Mouth in Avengers: Doomsday? Could it have anything to do with recent chatter about Marvel Studios planning a second cast reveal for the movie?...

Did Ryan Reynolds Just Confirm Deadpool for Avengers: Doomsday?
Image
Ryan Reynolds has never been shy about trolling Marvel fans or teasing upcoming news or releases, but this time, he might have actually teased something special. The Deadpool & Wolverine star dropped a cryptic image on Instagram: the Avengers “A” logo painted over with a red anarchist “A”. No caption. No explanation. For most people, that’s just random graphic design. But for MCU fans, it’s basically saying “Deadpool is crashing Avengers: Doomsday.” Disney is reportedly planning a second cast reveal for Doomsday on August 27, similar to the live-stream stunt they pulled months ago with rows of empty chairs tagged with actor names. Back then, it was a fun guessing game. This time, the internet sleuths over on r/MCUTheories think they’ve already cracked the code: the missing Fox X-Men actors. One fan put it plainly: “Really hoping for Hugh Jackman, Famke Janssen, Halle Berry, Anna Paquin and...

Reynolds shared a photo of the Avengers black and white logo, which has been covered with a red spray-painted “A” that appears to be the work of Deadpool. Fans were quick to jump on the potential crossover, with many commenting about their excitement.

Emmy-winning senior producer Adam Weissler is exiting Extra.

He also secured exclusive interviews with Taylor Swift, Cher, Madonna and Clint Eastwood. James Marsden Talks Nostalgia & Cyclops in Avengers: Doomsday
Avengers: Doomsday (2026)

The set of Avengers: Doomsday is buzzing with familiar faces as production nears its final stages. Stars like Pedro Pascal (Mr. Fantastic) are already wrapping their roles. Meanwhile, returning Marvel veteran James Marsden is soaking in the nostalgia as he reprises his role as Cyclops for the first time in two decades.

Marsden last suited up as the leader of the X-Men in the early 2000s, and he’s clearly enjoying stepping back into the visor. Over the years, the actor has played a wide range of roles, from romantic comedies to thrillers like Focus. Still, Cyclops holds a special place in his heart. Speaking to Vanity Fair, Marsden called the experience a “nice little homecoming.”

I was excited because you’re a part of something gigantic,” Marsden said. “I’ve spent 20 years listening to people say, ‘When are you coming back? Are you coming back?...

When Tom Hanks Paid For This Iconic Forrest Gump Scene Himself & Made More Than $60 Million In Return

Tom Hanks Once Revealed How He Paid For An Iconic Forrest Gump Sequence Himself (Photo Credit – Facebook)

Talk about taking a gamble. Tom Hanks literally paid for an iconic scene in Forrest Gump out of his own pocket—after Paramount almost axed them for budget reasons. Yeah, that legendary run across America? Hanks funded it himself.

During a sit-down on In Depth with Graham Bensinger, Hanks spilled the tea on how he and director Robert Zemeckis had to cough up the cash to keep the iconic scenes alive. “And [Zemeckis] said ‘Well, this run is going to cost X amount of dollars,’” Hanks said. “And I said ‘ok.’” Instead of letting the scene get cut, they worked out a deal: they’d front the cost and get a bigger cut of the movie’s profits. Paramount agreed, and the duo hit the jackpot.

Forrest Gump grossed $678 million worldwide (per Box Office...

When Christopher Nolan Denied Anne Hathaway’s “Doesn’t Allow Chairs” On Set Claim: “Only Things Banned From Sets Are Cell Phones”

Christopher Nolan Defended Anne Hathaway’s “Doesn’t Allow Chairs” On Set Claim ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

In 2020, Christopher Nolan became the internet’s villain after, in a Variety interview with Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway shared a generic talk show anecdote about what it was like to work on his film. The anecdote was blown out of proportion online, prompting Nolan to defend Anne Hathaway’s claim.

What Did Anne Hathaway Say About Christopher Nolan’s On-Set Rule?

During the interview, Anne Hathaway told Hugh Jackman how Christopher Nolan increased efficiency on set by discouraging the cast from lounging in chairs. Anne Hathaway said, “I worked with him twice. He doesn’t allow chairs, and his reasoning is, if you have chairs, people will sit, and if they’re sitting, they’re not working.”

Hathway went on to praise Nolan’s seemingly despotic approach, adding, “I mean, he has these incredible...

James Marsden says returning as Cyclops for Avengers: Doomsday is “a nice little homecoming”
Avengers: Doomsday (2026)
Avengers: Doomsday has a lot to live up to. While Deadpool & Wolverine gave a good wink & nod to the past Marvel films released under other studios, Doomsday will attempt to blow the multiverse wide open with a teaming up of the official MCU characters and the original Fox X-Men cast. One such cast member who fans are excited to see return is James Marsden as Cyclops. Marsden portrayed the X-Men leader in X-Men, X2: X-Men United and X-Men: The Last Stand. Many feel that the actor didn’t get his due by getting overshadowed by the focus on Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and Scott Summers would have an anti-climactic end when Marsden was not available for much of X-Men: The Last Stand.

Marsden recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly about his new series, Paradise, when he inevitably fielded questions about Avengers: Doomsday. The actor explained, “I’m getting a little long...

Son Of Sardaar 2 Box Office Collection Day 7: Ajay Devgn’s Lowest Opening Week Among His Post-covid Sequels ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

Ajay Devgn’s big sequel, Son Of Sardaar 2, saw an outright rejection from the audience during the opening week, resulting in a shockingly low number. Right from day 1, the numbers were underwhelming, and now, by the end of the week, the collection didn’t even cross 35 crore net at the Indian box office. Such numbers aren’t even suitable for the opening weekend, considering the momentum Ajay has been enjoying with sequels in the post-covid era. Keep reading for a detailed day 7 collection report!

Image
With “Paradise,” James Marsden received an Emmy nomination for playing the leader of the United States — but it’s not the first time we’ve seen him sitting in the driver’s seat. Soon, Marvel fans will see the actor once again portraying the leader of the X-Men as well.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Marsden opened up a bit about “Avengers: Doomsday” and his anticipated return to his earliest iconic role: Scott Summers (a.k.a. Cyclops) in 20th Century Fox’s “X-Men” film series.

“I’m getting a little long in the tooth to put on the superhero costume,” Marsden laughed. “I was excited because you’re a part of something gigantic, and I’ve spent 20 years listening to people say, ‘When are you coming back? James Marsden Speaks About His Return As Cyclops In 'Avengers: Doomsday'
Image
Of all the returning X-Men lined up for Avengers: Doomsday, few got fans more excited than James Marsden coming back to portray Scott Summers/Cyclops in what is bound to be one of next year's most massive movie releases. He's always been a fan favorite in the role, but he's also been frequently shortchanged by the X-Men films he's appeared in. To say he never really got to have his moments in the franchise would be an understatement, but Doomsday might afford him that overdue opportunity, something Marsden is very excited about as he gets behind the visor again.

During a chat with Vanity Fair, Marsden spoke about the current stage of his career, which has seen him earning some stellar reviews for Paradise — plus a Primetime Emmy Award nomination, his second after his hilarious turn on Jury Duty. Another part of this current stage is his return as Cyclops in Avengers: Doomsday,...

David S. Goyer is more than willing to return to Blade if Marvel ever requires his assistance. The filmmaker recently offered an update on the long-gestating project.

Speaking to ComicBook, Goyer said he would be happy to revisit Blade if he was asked. "I've had a lot of people and journalists ask, 'Why don't you go in there and help them with it?' The live-action adaptation of the 2010 animated fantasy adventure How to Train Your Dragon received rave reviews from critics after its theatrical release around two months ago. The remake has grossed over $619 million worldwide, surpassing several 2025 titles, including Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, Sinners, and 28 Years Later.

Recently, How to Train Your Dragon also outperformed past box office hits like Steven Spielberg’s The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Daniel Craig’s Casino Royale, and The Passion of the Christ, among others. And now, the film is just inches away from overtaking a widely acclaimed Marvel superhero movie. That film is none other than James Mangold’s Rotten Tomatoes 93%-rated Logan (2017), starring Hugh Jackman as the titular hero.

After finalizing her divorce from Hugh Jackman, Deborra-Lee Furness is stepping into a new chapter of her life, and possibly a new romance. Weapons: Why Josh Brolin Thinks Zach Cregger Is Similar to His Best Western Directors
Image
Josh Brolin has recently crossed over into the horror territory with Zach Cregger’s new suburban nightmare, Weapons; however, the actor finds remnants of the works of the Coen Brothers in the film.

It is understandable why the veteran actor would find it seemingly difficult to shed his Western identity after working in the genre so extensively throughout his career, but in this case, Brolin may just have a point. Even at the outset, Weapons has a lot more to offer in the way of the wild chaos that comes with the spurs and cowboy genre than slashers and the Scream Queen culture. Let’s find it how.

’X-Men ‘97’ Star Has Advice for Her Live-Action Counterpart in the McU's Upcoming X-Men Movie [Exclusive]
Image
Lenore Zann, the voice of Rogue in X-Men: The Animated Series andX-Men ‘97, has finally explained her issue with Fox’s live-action portrayal of the character. She even has some crucial advice for whoever next takes over the mantle of Rogue in the MCU’s looming live-action X-Men movie, which will be directed by Jake Schreier (Thunderbolts*). Anna Paquin previously played the character in live-action, first debuting in the X-Men movies of the early 2000s.

Collider’s Maggie Lovitt recently moderated a panel at FanX's Tampa Bay Comic Convention for Zann, and a fan in attendance asked if she had any direction to give Rogue’s next live-action actor. She didn’t hesitate to suggest, “Watch X-Men: The Animated Series, then X-Men '97. That would be my number one thing to say.” She then went into detail about her gripes with how Fox handled Rogue in the Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart-led X-Men movies,...

Hugh Jackman Was Superman For Just 3 Minutes In 2001
Image
Just a year after the first X-Men film was released, Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman slipped into the famous red undies as Superman for just 3 minutes on Saturday Night Live in 2001. And somehow, this surreal, awkward comedy sketch still manages to be one of the strangest and most fascinating moments in superhero TV history ever. In the SNL bit, Jackman’s Superman enters the Fortress of Solitude and fires up a hologram to chat with his biological parents. Enter Will Ferrell as Jor-El and Maya Rudolph as Lara, giving us a Kryptonian family reunion that feels less like Man of Steel and more like a Zoom call with your emotionally distant folks. Superman’s looking for answers. What he gets is classic SNL-style awkward silences and concerned stares. Will Ferrell’s deadpan delivery nails the tone: “Your planet exploded. Get over it.” Maya Rudolph reacts with concern when Superman casually...

Jessica Simpson Claims She Peed Herself After Performing On The ‘Today’ Show
Image
Jessica Simpson reportedly peed her pants after her live Today show performance, adding an unexpected twist to the singer’s rare public appearance.

The singer performed for NBC’s breakfast show summer series last week, where she performed songs from her most recent album, Nashville Canyon, Pt. 1. She also debuted a new song, “Fade,” from her upcoming album, Nashville Canyon, Pt. 2.

This was her first time performing on stage in 15 years.

After the show, however, the performance caught up to her, and she peed her pants in front of her crew members.

Simpson isn’t the first star to have an accident on stage.

Hugh Jackman got honest about peeing his pants in an onstage production of Beauty and the Beast.

“I go down to the stage, getting ready for my first number… and I’m like I really need to go again,” he said. “[The routine is] the most cardiovascular song I’ve ever done: literally,...

Ioan Gruffudd Recalls the ‘Fantastic Four’ That Made Money: ‘We Were Being True to the Comic’
Image
It’s perhaps the comic book film genre’s greatest conundrum: how do you crack the Fantastic Four? This weekend, despite positive word of mouth and a solid opening weekend haul, the quartet’s latest — subtitled “First Steps” — tumbled 66% at the domestic box office. Undoubtedly, before Hollywood looks to craft the next adventure, they’ll look back at what has worked before — and the most recent unequivocal success came from the simply titled “Fantastic Four” in 2005, which featured Jessica Alba, Chris Evans, Michael Chiklis, and Iaon Gruffudd.

Now, “unequivocal,” to be fair, does not count reviews — “First Steps” has most certainly outpaced this older version in terms of critical reception. But the film grossed three times its budget and managed to produce a sequel in 2007 — “Rise of the Silver Surfer” — which also made money. Of course, after that, Marvel Studios became a thing, and something called the MCU happened. But...

‘How to Train Your Dragon’ Slashes Hugh Jackman’s Oscar-Nominated Superhero Blockbuster at the Global Box Office
Image
Despite having debuted on home video weeks ago, Universal’s How to Train Your Dragon is still a force to be reckoned with in theaters. The live-action remake of the hit original animated film from 2010 has now passed How to Train Your Dragon 2 to becomethe franchise’s top-grossing installment. It has also revived faith in the idea of live-action remakes, along with the recent Lilo & Stitch. Disney had cornered this market for over a decade, but its films were beginning to show signs of wear and tear in recent years. Perhaps DreamWorks can take over the mantle from here on out, with a remake of How to Train Your Dragon 2 already dated for 2027.

Directed by Dean DeBlois, who was involved in each of the animated films, How to Train Your Dragon has grossed $260 million domestically and another $358 million from overseas markets. This puts the film’s cumulative global haul at $618 million,...

Hugh Jackman's Cut Fantastic Four Cameo Addressed By Original Reeds Richards Star 20 Years Later
Image
Marvel’s first family may have just found its way into the MCU, but Fantastic Four’s original Reed Richards has finally spoken about scrapped plans for a Wolverine cameo in the 2005 movie. Serving as the sixth Marvel movie released by 20th Century Fox following the success of 2000’s X-Men, eager-eyed fans have since spotted several X-Men Easter eggs throughout.

In addition to magazine covers referencing X-Men cast members James Marsden and Rebecca Romijn, Fantastic Four’s original DVD release also contained a deleted scene where Ioan Gruffudd’s Reed Richards attempts to impress Jessica Alba’s Sue Storm by using his powers to transform his face into a “stronger man.” That man ends up being none other than Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine.

Speaking with Vultureabout his time as Mister Fantastic, Gruffudd was quizzed about the infamous deleted scene and Fantastic Four’s attempts to introduce a Wolverine cameo. Admitting...

A Bizarre Hugh Jackman Wolverine 'Cameo' Was Deleted From The First Fantastic Four Movie
Image
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

In the early 2000s, superhero movies were on their way to becoming the dominant force in pop culture for the first time. There had previously been one-off hits such as Tim Burton's "Batman," but the success of 2000's "X-Men" put Marvel on the mainstream map for the first time, having built off the popularity of 1998's "Blade." Sam Raimi and Sony's "Spider-Man" took things to another level in 2002, and from there, it was off to the races. 20th Century Fox then followed 2003's "X2: X-Men United" with director Tim Story's "Fantastic Four," which became a solid hit for the studio. It also very nearly created a shared on-screen Marvel universe ... sort of.

Ioan Gruffudd portrayed Reed Richards, aka Mister Fantastic, in Story's 2005 adaptation of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's superheroic comic book family. Jessica Alba co-starred as Sue Storm,...

Nicole Kidman Will Have to Choose Between Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness
Image
Nicole Kidman is allegedly caught between the ugly split between her longtime friends Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness. According to a source, Furness is unhappy with the Babygirl star for embracing Jackman’s relationship with Sutton Foster.

The source told Globe that Kidman, who co-starred with Jackman in the 2008 film Australia, “didn’t immediately jump on board with this” (via Globe). The source shared that she was “very sad Hugh and Deb couldn’t work it out.” She had previously stated that Jackman and Furness had helped her through her divorce from Tom Cruise.

The source further shared that Kidman eventually recognized that Jackman had “found someone he’s clearly madly in love with.” The Deadpool & Wolverine actor would like his friend to get to know Foster and is reportedly “very keen” on that matter. The source said that Kidman “has agreed [to make that happen].”

Furness has allegedly not taken this development well.

Potential Wolverine Replacement Speaks Out On Those X-Men Fan-Casting Rumors
Image
The X-Men are finally finding their way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and that means that inevitably the most iconic mutants will be recast. Fans have already visualized who they want as their next Wolverine.

Kingsman star Taron Egerton is their top pick for the role. He spoke toThe Hollywood Reporterabout it while promoting his movie, She Rides Shotgun.

“The Wolverine thing is almost like a joke at this point," Egerton said. "Every time I have a project come out, there’s a moment where people talk about it, and I’m the one person who is not qualified to talk about it. It’s quite strange, but it’s flattering. It’s always lovely to think that anybody would want you to play a beloved role, but I also think no one is ever going to accept anyone in that role other than Hugh Jackman. He’s completely synonymous with it.

Will Smith’s $173 Million Sci-Fi ‘Logan’ Replacement Dominates Global Streaming Charts
Image
While Will Smith is still riding high on the success of Bad Boys: Ride or Die, another recent film from the star that drew comparisons to a popular Marvel movie has returned to streaming charts six years later. Smith stars alongside Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Ahsoka) and Clive Owen (Cleaner) in Gemini Man, the 2019 action thriller following an older hitman who faces off against a younger clone of himself. Gemini Man is streaming on Paramount+ globally, where it’s become one of the top 10 most popular movies in over 15 countries, including Venezuela, Paraguay, and Mexico. The film earned a “Rotten” 27% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes but a solid 83% on the audience-driven Popcornmeter. Unfortunately, it grossed only $173 million globally against a $138 million budget, leaving it short of its break-even point.

Gemini Man is, unfortunately, not streaming anywhere in the United States, but the film is available to rent or purchase on VOD for a reasonable price.

Taron Egerton Rules Out Wolverine Role, Reveals He Was Approached by Feige for Another Iconic X‑Men
Image
Kingsman star Taron Egerton recently joined Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, and the conversation turned to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Horowitz brought up how filmmaker Joe Russo once said Egerton would be a perfect fit to play Wolverine. Egerton was quick to point out that this wasn’t exactly an unbiased opinion.

“Joe is very sweet, Joe and I are friends, though. You know he’s not being impartial there,” he said with a laugh.

When asked if he ever followed up on that suggestion, Egerton explained that Wolverine isn’t really the role he’s chasing.

“No, I do talk to Joe from time to time, but I don’t think about that. Jackman is Wolverine, you know. Hugh Jackman is Wolverine. The trouble is, whenever I get asked about this, I have to respond because I’m a reasonably polite person, but it sounds like...

Broadway’s $400 Million Tax Credit Ran Out of Money. It May Come Back, But With an Asterisk
Image
Broadway producers are planning to advocate for an extension of a state tax credit program that ran out of money, with some planned tweaks, including a repayment plan for successful shows.

The Broadway League, a trade association of producers and general managers, will soon be advocating for a three-year extension of the NYC Musical and Theatrical Production Tax Credit that maintains the funding level of $100 million per year. One key change this time will be asking shows that end up being financially successful to give back a portion of the credit.

“The intent of [the tax credit] was to incentivize our investors and our shows to take the risk, which is a crazy, great risk, to open a show on Broadway. But they’re quite happy when they are successful. And I think most everyone believes it’s reasonable to say, ‘Great, I shouldn’t get the full allocation, that should go back...

Ioan Gruffudd Teases Fantastic Four Return After Almost Playing a Very Different X-Men Mutant
Image
Ioan Gruffudd, the Og Mr. Fantastic from the 2005 Fantastic Four film, just sent the Marvel multiverse into a caffeine-fueled frenzy. The actor recently shared a cryptic photo of himself clutching a coffee cup with a very deliberate “4” foam art on the top. Now, fans are spiraling out of control, speculating if Gruffudd is hinting at his return.

And by speculating, we mean people are not hoping for Ioan Gruffudd to come back as Mr. Fantastic, especially now that Pedro Pascal has bagged the role. Instead, fans are expecting the actor to return as The Maker, an evil alternate version of Reed Richards. But the buzz didn’t stop there.

In a recent Vulture interview, Gruffudd dropped another bombshell about how he almost played a very different mutant role. Turns out, in the 2005 Fantastic Four movie, the actor appeared as none other than the X-Men mutant Wolverine, in a deleted scene.

Taron Egerton on Joaquin Phoenix’s ‘She Rides Shotgun’ Prep, ‘Carry-On 2’ Doubts and “Strange” Wolverine Talk
Image
Right before he reteamed with Dennis Lehane for the miniseries Smoke, Taron Egerton produced an independent passion project known as She Rides Shotgun.

Adapted from Jordan Harper’s book of the same name, Egerton also stars in the Nick Rowland-directed crime drama as an ex-con named Nate McClusky. Fresh out of prison, Nate — who’s been absent for the majority of his 10-year-old daughter Polly’s life — catches her off guard when he arrives at her school to pick her up in place of her mom. In a revelatory performance by Ana Sophia Heger, Polly quickly deduces that something has gone terribly wrong, forcing the estranged father and daughter to hit the road and fend off danger at every turn.

To prepare for the modern-day tale — albeit one with shades of Westerns and thrillers from the ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s — Egerton opened up his Rolodex and asked a few...

Worst Possible Update For Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool 4 While He Faces Blake Lively’s It Ends With Us Lawsuit
Image
In the latest shake-up at Marvel Studios, fans of Ryan Reynolds‘ Deadpool may need to brace for disappointment. Despite Deadpool & Wolverine smashing records and pulling in a massive $1.34 billion globally, insiders now say that Deadpool 4 has slid to the bottom of Marvel’s development slate.

As the studio recalibrates its ambitious lineup, which includes back-to-back Avengers films and a rebooted X-Men, there’s reportedly no urgency around getting Reynolds’ Merc with a Mouth back on screen any time soon.

That news also comes amid mounting complications for Reynolds off-screen as well. The actor has found himself indirectly pulled into legal tensions surrounding his wife, Blake Lively, and her upcoming film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel It Ends With Us. As Ryan Reynolds is being scrutinized for his involvement in the promotion and production of the movie. Here is what’s going on in detail!

After 'Deadpool & Wolverine's $1.3B Success, Ryan Reynold's MCU Future Gets an Unexpected Update
Image
After the return of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in Deadpool & Wolverine earned an eye-popping box office haul of over $1.3 billion, complete with rave reviews, it was almost assured that the multiversal adventure was not the last of the dynamic duo. For all the jokes of Jackman playing Logan until he's 90, though, another team-up might not be coming for a while. Variety shared a massive report on where things stand among Marvel brass that said there was "no urgency" for a Deadpool 4 right now. Sources within the company cited a pullback on superhero content throughout the industry, prompting a slowdown of plans for the Merc with a Mouth's MCU future.

The news comes as a bit of a surprise considering the momentum going for Wade Wilson after his first film in six years. During a roundtable discussion with Kevin Feige attended by Collider's Steve Weintraub, the Marvel boss...
