After a long wait and a whole lot of hype, Sinners has finally hit the screen, and well, it was worth it. While the film brought back the ever-electric Michael B. Jordan, reminding us why he’s a beast in front of the camera, it also handed the spotlight to a fresh face who’s quickly becoming the name on everyone’s lips, and that is Miles Caton.

He completely and utterly impressed viewers with his skills, and now he’s setting his sights on playing one of the hottest Spider-Man versions out there, Miles Morales. If his performance in Sinners is any indication, he would absolutely crush it. And could seriously give Tom Holland a run for his money once he steps into the live-action world.

Sinners opens over Easter weekend on April 18. The Michal B. Jordan, Hailee Steinfeld, Delroy Lindo and Jack O’Connell starring pic follows twin brothers, who return to their hometown to start again as they try to leave their troubled lives behind. They discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.

Caton is known for his work as a R&b performer with powerhouse vocals. Caton has been singing since the age of two and grew up a child prodigy of gospel great, Timiney Figueroa. He has performed with the likes of Fred Hammond, Faith Evans, Erica Campbell, Smokie Norful, and Bishop Td Jakes. Amazon Freevee is getting into business with Bishop T.D. Jakes, signing a two-year deal with the spiritual figure to launch a Fast channel and provide on-demand access to 300 hours of Jakes’ content.

The deal, which launches Dec. 1 and covers rights in the U.S., UK and Germany, will include sermons, interviews and other unscripted, faith-based programming from Jakes’ library — which has been amassed over 45 years. Tyler Perry and T.D. Jakes got the go-ahead from local authorities Thursday to purchase over 130 acres in Atlanta including a proposed expansion of Tyler Perry Studios for an entertainment district with theaters, retail shops and restaurants.

Perry will acquire 37 acres adjacent to Tyler Perry Studios, adding to the more than 330 acres he purchased in 2015 and grew into one of the biggest production facilities in the country.

Religious leader, author and filmmaker Jakes is buying 94 acres. Both purchases were approved by the Fort Mac Lra Board (McPherson Implementing Local Redevelopment Authority), which is overseeing the reuse of a 145-acre former military base site in southwest Atlanta.

“Today is a good day. I’m grateful for the opportunity this gives Tyler Perry Studios to extend our footprint in Atlanta and create more opportunities for the people of Southwest Atlanta with restaurants, entertainment venues, and other business opportunities,” Perry said in a statement.

Lifetime has set April premiere dates and announced the full cast for two movies in the Seven Deadly Sins anthology. The movies are based on the first two books in Victoria Christopher Murray’s series, Lust and Envy, executive produced by Bishop T.D. Jakes. The projects initially were announced in 2019.

Lust: A Deadly Sins Saga (wt) premieres on Saturday, April 17 at 8 pm Et/Pt and stars Keri Hilson (Love By The 10th Date), Tobias Truvillion (One Life to Live), and Durrell ‘Tank’ Babbs (The New Edition Story) with special appearances by Ms. Juicy and Letoya Luckett. Exclusive: Pastor, author and filmmaker T.D. Jakes has signed on as an executive producer of Lifetime’s upcoming foster care film I Am Somebody’s Child: The Regina Louise Story. Moved by Regina Louise and her harrowing story navigating the broken system, the network says Jakes joined the movie as an Ep to bring additional attention to the need for foster care reform.

President Bill Clinton eulogized Aretha Franklin on Friday in an epic memorial service for the iconic soul singer, saying he was an “Aretha groupie” and playing her classic “Think!” into the microphone via his iPhone.

Lifetime announced at TCA today an ambitious slate of original movies for 2019. Among the 75 films planned for next year are a series of telepics and documentaries from veteran newswoman Robin Roberts along with book franchises from authors V.C. Andrews and Victoria Christopher Murray.

The A+E Networks-owned cable net unveiled today a major production deal with Roberts for movies and docs under the Robin Roberts Presents banner to debut next year. It also is in development on Murray’s Seven Deadly Sins anthology, reteaming with producer T.D. Jakes, and has commissioned the first three books — Lust, Envy and Greed – to debut next year.

Andrews’ five-book series about the twisted relationships of the Casteel Family also being turned into movies. First up is V.C. Andrews’ Heaven, starring Annalise Basso, Julie Benz, Chris William Martin and Chris McNally.

Lifetime has unveiled a big expansion of its original movie lineup for next year. As part of the push the A+E Networks cabler has set new franchises with ABC News’ Robin Roberts and megachurch leader Bishop T.D. Jakes.

Lifetime plans to produce or acquire some 75 movies next year, a significant increase from 2018. The cabler has signed a wide-ranging production deal with “Good Morning America” anchor Roberts to produce movies and feature-length documentaries under the “Robin Roberts Presents” banner.

Also in the works for Lifetime is a five-movie series based on the novels of V.C. Andrews, starting next year with “V.C. Andrews’ Heaven.”
