Ex-Scandal Star Columbus Short Pleads Not Guilty to Battery
Kerry Washington in Scandal (2012)
Former Scandal star Columbus Short has pleaded not guilty to felony battery for a fight that seriously injured a man at a West Hollywood restaurant earlier this year. Short, 31, appeared in court Wednesday for a brief arraignment hearing on the case filed after he was accused of punching a man at the restaurant in March. The actor's attorney Jeff Jacquet had sought to fast-track the case, but Deputy District Attorney David Schorr said the injuries involved were too serious to qualify. He said Short is accused of cold-cocking a man, knocking him unconscious and fracturing his left eye socket. Superior...

'Scandal' star Columbus Short arrested for battery
Columbus Short
Los Angeles (AP) — Columbus Short, a lead actor on the television series "Scandal," was arrested Wednesday on a felony charge that he seriously injured a man during an altercation at a restaurant earlier this month. Short was arrested by police in Claremont on a warrant issued in a case that alleges he committed a battery that caused serious bodily harm. The actor was involved in a dispute with a man at a West Los Angeles restaurant March 15 before Short hit the man and knocked him out, according to Los Angeles police and prosecutors. Further details about the altercation were not released. Short, 31, plays attorney Harrison Wright on ABC's hit series "Scandal." Records show he was released Wednesday after posting $50,000 bail. If convicted, Short faces up to four years in state prison. A date for his initial court appearance has not yet been set. [DVD Review] Return to Witch Mountain
12.00 Normal 0 false false false En-us X-none X-none MicrosoftInternetExplorer4

I'm a bit confused by Return from Witch Mountain. In the original, there's a pretty solid theme of self-discovery (which is admittedly thrown away by the ending, but it's there). Further still, Escape to Witch Mountain set up the perfect premise for a sequel in the final five minutes. When Tia and Tony's Uncle Bene (Denver Pyle) says there are many more alien children out there waiting to find their way back to their kind, Disney essentially established a goldmine for countless sequels of the twins helping other children like themselves get home. As soon as I heard the uncle say that line I thought to myself ‘wow, that's actually a pretty smart sequel premise - well played Disney.' Now you listen here, Return to Witch Mountain will have none of that spoon-fed sequel crap - oh no - instead they...

dream cast: hypothetical ‘Mork & Mindy’ movie
Shazbot, I’m late this week. But it’s still Thursday, so there’s still time to remake an 80s classic TV show or movie with an all-new cast. This week: Mork & Mindy, the 1978-82 ABC sitcom about the doofiest alien in the universe and the human girl who lets him sleep on her sofa. The original cast included: Mork: Robin Williams Mindy: Pam Dawber Orson (voice): Ralph James Fred (Mindy’s dad): Conrad Janis Eugene (the kid who hung around the record store): Jeffrey Jacquet Mr. Bickley (the pain-in-the-ass neighbor): Tom Poston the baby: Jonathan Winters Exidor (who was either mentally ill or a visionary prophet, or perhaps both): Robert Donner Mindy’s father was always pissed off that his innocent and virginal little princess was living with a man, which is so dated that it’s laughable, so we can excise that subplot.
