The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been enduring a turbulent time of late. Marvel Studios hed Kevin Feige has desperately been trying to get things back on track after a series of middling streaming shows and superhero movie over-saturation caused general audiences to tire of the once mighty blockbuster franchise. But if the last couple years have proved anything, it's that Marvel's big event movies can still draw crowds. Everybody showed up for the box office behemoth that was "Deadpool & Wolverine," but even that movie and its $1.3 billion worldwide gross couldn't match the $1.9 billion racked up by "Spider-Man: No Way Home" back in 2021/22.
Granted, in the latter case, fans were eager to see the return of former Spider-Men Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire, alongside the wide array of former Spidey villains. But without Tom Holland having led two previous Spider-Man movies and showing up in a number of team-up films,...

We all know Steve Carell as the lovable goofball, the awkward boss in The Office. And on the big screen, he’s also well-known as the unlucky romantic in The 40-Year-Old Virgin, the sweet-yet-silly dad in Crazy, Stupid, Love, and even the voice of the eccentric supervillain Gru in Despicable Me. But one movie broke his type and pulled a version of Carell we hadn’t seen before.
He is quite cold and critical in this movie. It’s a coming-of-age flick that doesn’t romanticize teen angst and doesn’t rely on clichés to win hearts, yet it does. This hidden gem with an 83% rating on Rotten Tomatoes is now streaming on Prime Video. And if you love smart, sincere storytelling, you shouldn’t miss The Way, Way Back.

Psych, the police procedural with a comedic twist, is an iconic part of the mystery genre. The series’ creative approach to writing detective stories has charmed generations of fans. The show follows the exploits of Shawn Spencer, a brilliant investigator who uses a ruse of psychic abilities to fulfill his childhood dreams of adventure. One of the most beloved elements of the series continues to be the flashbacks to Shawn’s childhood. Shawn’s childhood self, or Young Shawn, becomes an integral part of each episode’s plot. Most episodes begin with a flashback to Shawn’s childhood in the 1980s and reveal how Shawn developed his amazing abilities. The flashbacks were not only a way to incorporate '80s nostalgia into a series that prided itself on constant John Hughes references but also helped endear the audience to Shawn’s character.

Comedy actor Steve Carell perhaps has a penchant for playing unhinged characters that get on people’s nerves. From his iconic role as the egocentric Michael Scott in The Office to his appearance as Trent in the 2013 comedy-drama The Way Way Back, Carell seemingly proved that he likes playing the hilarious jerk in films and shows.

But while audiences might consider his characters overbearing to a point where they seem funny, Steve Carell had a different perspective on his roles. Following his appearance in The Way Way Back, alongside Toni Collette, wherein people considered his character Trent as an antagonist, Carell offered a rather deep insight into his role.

Steve Carell has long captivated audiences with his unique ability to portray characters that bridge the gap between humor and annoyance.

James Gunn has shared a new official look at Superman, but it is not of Lois Lane, Lex Luthor, or the other DC heroes in it; instead, it is Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen. Originally introduced in the radio show The Adventures of Superman in 1940, Jimmy Olsen has become a key part of Superman's supporting cast and is often labeled "Superman's Pal." He is traditionally a photographer for the Daily Planet and, over the course of DC Comics history, has had an incredible history. He has been transformed into a variety of superpowered individuals, was the romantic interest of Supergirl, and the foundation of Jack Kirby's New Gods story began in Jimmy Olsen comics. Gunn shared the image on Threads with a caption that read:
"Happy Anniversary to Supermans pal, Jimmy Olsen, who debuted on this day in 1941 (although he did appear earlier as office boy in Action Comics 6). Created by Jerry Siegel,...

You can hear all about it in the video embedded above!
Directed by the Brothers Strause from a screenplay by Shane Salerno, Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem has the following synopsis: Residents of Gunnison, Colorado, are caught up in the crossfire when two deadly extraterrestrial species bring their longstanding conflict to Earth. On the one side, nearly indestructible Aliens; on the other, a lone Predator whose mission is to wipe out all traces of the Alien infestation from Earth, no matter who gets in the way.

Psych recast young Shawn's actor in season 5 due to Liam James looking too mature for the role. The show's flashbacks ceased in season 6 as Shawn had evolved out of needing past life lessons from Henry. Liam James moved on to star in The Killing, while Skyler Gisondo went on to have an even bigger career.
While most actors remained constant on the series, Psych recast young Shawn's actor in season 5. In USA Network's detective-comedy series, the child version of James Roday's Shawn Spencer was played by two different actors in the first two episodes before the show ultimately settled on Liam James as its young Shawn early in season 1. Later, Skyler Gisondo suddenly took over the role in Psych season 5. Gisondo continued to play young Shawn until the season 6 finale.

Alex Gregory and Peter Huyck's HBO miniseries "White House Plumbers" is a tonally audacious, behind-the-bungling tale of the men who botched the Watergate break-in and set in motion the demise of Richard M. Nixon's presidency. The series is focused on the two "masterminds" of the errant operation: E. Howard Hunt (Woody Harrelson) and G. Gordon Liddy (Paul Theroux). The five-episode series, directed by David Mandel (the former showrunner of "Veep"), is both broadly comedic and bruisingly tragic, as it must be.
What these men and their inept coconspirators carried out is easily the most egregious own-goal in the history of American politics. Nixon was riding high in the polls against his liberal 1972 opponent, Senator George McGovern of North Dakota, when they pushed through a plot to infiltrate the DNC headquarters housed at the sprawling Watergate complex in Washington D.C. After four failed missions, the group finally breached the office,...

The Watergate scandal is one of the most infamous political events in American history, and it led to the resignation of a sitting U.S. President. It's been almost two decades since MTV's The Hills premiered, and it's time to update fans about the show's cast. When the reality series premiered in 2006, it ushered in a golden age of unscripted reality drama. The show followed the lives of Lauren Conrad and her friends, including Whitney Port, Audrina Partridge, Heidi Montag, and more. The series tells the story of Lauren transitioning from high school to college, and showcases plenty of interpersonal drama.
After its 2006 debut, The Hills stayed on the air for six seasons, becoming a very successful reality show. The series also inspired several spin-offs, including The Hills: New Beginnings, which featured some of the original cast, such as Audrina, Heidi, and Whitney. However, none were as successful as the original series. Now, more than a decade after the Og show ended, the cast members are remembered, and it's time to share facts about their post-show lives.

The legacy of the Watergate break-in is one of virulent distrust in the American government, and in some cases aggressive empowerment of shady tactics from the American government. Our media has been enraptured with the story for decades, as an example of how head-and-shoulders-down journalism work can take down the tyrannical powers that be, from Alan J. Paluka’s “All the President’s Men” to Ron Howard’s “Frost/Nixon.”
But now, Hollywood has shifted to depictions from within the Watergate scandal. Just one year after the limited series “Gaslit,” we have a new five-episode limited series entitled “White House Plumbers.” And the results are sloppy, much like the actual Watergate break-in.
The primary White House Plumbers — the special investigation unit tasked to “plug leaks” emitting from the White House and protect President Richard Nixon’s power by any means necessary — are the gruff E. Howard Hunt (Woody Harrelson) and the...

HBO’s White House Plumbers is born out of a simple truth: that the events that occurred at the Watergate Office Building on June 17, 1972, while accounting for one of the most seismic political scandals in American history, were profoundly stupid. By walking us through each step in the planning, execution, and attempted cover-up of the operation, Alex Gregory and Peter Huyck’s five-part limited series—based on Egil and Matthew Krogh’s 2007 book Integrity—effectively underlines just how braindead the whole thing was, even as it struggles to wring many laughs from its depiction of the events.
“No names have been changed to protect the innocent, because nearly everyone was found guilty” reads the opening title card, accompanied by a jazzy, Ocean’s Eleven-esque number as our suited-and-booted burglars stride confidently into the Watergate building. They almost immediately encounter a door that they’re unable to unlock and have no choice but to retreat.

Most are familiar with the Watergate scandal: several burglars were arrested at the Democratic National Committee (DNC) headquarters on June 17, 1972; President Richard Nixon’s administration attempted to cover up its involvement in the break-in; and the political crime ultimately led to Nixon’s resignation.
But who were the masterminds behind the Watergate scandal? Their perspectives are revealed in the upcoming HBO limited series, “White House Plumbers.”
“There’s so many different versions, and the one thing that happens in all these versions is the same scene right at the beginning; you see the guys breaking in with flashlights, and then you hear there was an arrest at the Watergate Hotel, or something like that. And that’s it — you never hear about those guys or see them again,” director David Mandel told Variety at the New York premiere of “White House Plumbers” on Monday night. “This is the story about...

HBO’s White House Plumbers looks like a must-see limited series if for no other reason than to watch Justin Theroux transform into G. Gordon Liddy. The trailer provides our first good look at Theroux as the Nixon flunkee who helped organize the Watergate break-in.
The cast of HBO’s five-episode series also includes Woody Harrelson as E. Howard Hunt, Lena Headey as Dorothy Hunt, Judy Greer as Fran Liddy, Domhnall Gleeson as John Dean, and Toby Huss as James McCord. Ike Barinholtz plays Jeb Magruder, Kathleen Turner is Dita Beard, Kim Coates is Frank Sturgis, Yul Vazquez is Bernard “Macho” Barker, Alexis Valdés is Felipe De Diego, and Nelson Ascencio is Virgilio “Villo” Gonzalez.
Additional limited series stars include Tony Plana as Eugenio “Muscolito” Martinez, Zoe Levin as Lisa Hunt, Liam James as Saint John Hunt, Kiernan Shipka as Kevan Hunt, and Tre Ryder as David Hunt. David Krumholtz plays William O.

The five-episode series will debut on May 1.
Per the logline, it will tell the true story of how Nixon’s political saboteurs and Watergate masterminds accidentally toppled the presidency they were zealously trying to protect, and their families along with it. Howard Hunt (Woody Harrelson) and G. Gordon Liddy (Justin Theroux), members of the “White House Plumbers” group tasked with stopping leaks of classified information who plotted the break-in that failed and eventually led to the collapse of Nixon’s administration. While best known as Michael Scott, “The Office’s” softhearted blockhead of a boss, Steve Carell has quietly carved out quite a resume in the oft-generic genre of father-son stories. For heart-tugging dramas “Beautiful Boy” and “Last Flag Flying,” he’s the heroic father, stopping at nothing to do right by his son. Carell makes an about-face in the 2013 indie “The Way Way Back” as the belittling step-father; a hostile intruder to his unwanted son (played by Liam James) and the film’s barely tolerated villain. Even as a mere figure of a father, Carell comes full circle in “Foxcatcher,” transforming into the torturous wrestling coach John E. du Pont, who assumes predatory dominance over the young athlete who lives on his estate.
