Julianna Margulies, Peter Gallagher to Star on Broadway in New Delia Ephron Play
Image
Julianna Margulies and Peter Gallagher will star in a new Delia Ephron play on Broadway this fall.

The new play, called Left on Tenth and based on Ephron’s memoir, will be directed by Susan Stroman, director and choreographer of The Producers. Daryl Roth will produce. Performances will begin Sept. 26 at the James Earl Jones Theatre, with an opening night set for Oct. 23.

Raymond Lee in Quantum Leap (2022)
Quantum Leap Season 1 Episode 15 Review: Ben Song For The Defense
Raymond Lee in Quantum Leap (2022)
There's a new plot formula settling into Quantum Leap Season 1 Episode 15 wherein the solution for a mission's success requires Ben to pull together the strings of different problems.

It's a nice knock-on effect that suggests that small successes often build to something greater. This may also be the key to the season's long-arc mystery: What motivated Ben to leap in the first place?

Additionally, there's a message embedded here that "good enough" shouldn't be, especially when it means a life-changing decision like pleading guilty to causing a death when you didn't.

The harsh reality of working as a public defender is depressing and disheartening when presented without a laugh track à la Night Court.

It's a perspective few see as the defendants get their seven minutes with their free attorney. Whatever justice they get is balanced against the judge's mood, the prosecutor's ambition, and the number of other cases on the docket that day.

10 Best New Movies On Peacock (Updated March 2023)
Image
Peacock is the rookie of streaming services, only gaining its start in 2020. However, Peacock is in full swing, regularly releasing a host of great movies from a variety of time periods and genres. It doesn't seem like it'll be long until Peacock is right up there with the big dogs such as Netflix, Hulu, and Prime Video. Every month, Peacock adds a huge crop of movies on the first, then sprinkles more new releases throughout the following weeks to keep streamers with plenty of new content.

While many of Peacock's television shows are original content for the streaming service, the movies are more likely to be classic favorites. March 2023 in particular leans a lot on the 1990s for fan-favorite movies, like Jurassic Park. Peacock does offer a few new releases that fans might have seen in theaters more recently though, like the Oscar-nominated Puss in Boots 2.

15 Oscar Movies That Were Nominated for Multiple Awards but Won Nothing
Image
In much the same way you can’t make an omelette without breaking a few eggs, you can’t have the Oscars without breaking a few hearts along the way.

Over the years, a glut of films have swept the board at the Academy Awards. In 1991, The Silence of the Lambs became the first and so far only horror film to win Oscars in all five major categories: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Adapted Screenplay. Titanic, of course, won 11 Oscars in 1998 with James Cameron naturally declaring: “I’m the King of the World!”

More recently still, movies like Slumdog Millionaire and Gravity took home a slew of Oscars for their efforts. But while the movies that take home the night’s big awards continue to live long in the memory – Crash aside – it’s worth not just sparing a thought for the also-rans and nearly...

Back To The Future's DeLorean Caused A Major Change In Bill & Ted's Script
Image
Original "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure" scribes Ed Solomon and Chris Matheson are almost extensions of their characters. They've written all three movies in the series, maintaining their close friendship for over forty years. From the script's first draft, the idea was less about a time-traveling history lesson and more about making a buddy movie with two lovable rockers. The SoCal duo, known as the Wyld Stallyns, didn't necessarily have to go on a grand adventure through time to be compelling. Bill (Alex Winter) and Ted (Keanu Reeves) wandering around the quiet suburban streets of San Dimas, California, jamming guitar and hanging out at the Circle K could've been a great mumblecore movie all on its own.

The same could be said for "Back to the Future." When Marty McFly plugs into that Gibson Ga-5T and sends himself flying through the air in a sonic blast, he already seems like your new best friend.

Back to the Future cast reunites
Image
The Delorean seems to still be working because there was a major blast from the past over the weekend, as the main cast from Back to the Future reunited at Fan Expo Portland.

Lea Thompson, who played Lorraine Baines-McFly in the Back to the Future trilogy, posted on her Instagram a series of photos with her co-stars: Michael J. Fox (Marty McFly), Christopher Lloyd (Emmett “Doc” Bedrowd n) and Thomas F. Wilson (Biff Tannen). She captioned the collection, “Wow honestly had the best time today with my #bttf family” before tagging the aforementioned co-stars and others. Thompson also showed off other pictures from the event, including a new Funko Pop! for her collection: a custom Lorraine Baines.

Accompanying videos showed Thompson with both Lloyd and Wilson. In her interaction with Wilson, who played one of the movies’ greatest jerks, praised Thompson with, “I love this lady. It’s so great eto see you.

Back To The Future's Cast Reunion Proves A Remake Would Be Terrible
Image
The Back to the Future cast reunited recently, sending fans into nostalgia mode, but their reunion proves a remake of their popular sci-fi film would not be a good thing. Directed by Robert Zemeckis from a screenplay he co-wrote with Bob Gale, Back to the Future saw Marty McFly sent back 30 years to 1955, where his presence in the past threatened his very own existence if he couldn’t reunite his parents so that he could be born.

Back to the Future’s cast — Christopher Lloyd, Michael J. Fox, Lea Thompson, and Tom Wilson — reunited at the Fan Expo convention in Portland over the President’s Day weekend. Thompson posted photos together with her castmates, including videos of them hugging. Back to the Future is a rewatchable film, and is often referenced in pop culture, having become a classic despite its sequels not being as beloved. Though it’s been more...

More than 37 years after the release of the original Back To The Future film, stars Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson and Tom Wilson reunited over the weekend at Fan Expo Portland.

“Wow, honestly had the best time today with my #bttf family,” Thompson wrote alongside the photo. “So many fun fan moments too and a llama,” she added.

Thompson also shared videos, one of her with Lloyd who played eccentric scientist Dr. Emmett ‘Doc’ Brown in the franchise. “Look who’s here. Look what the cat dragged in,” a smiling Thompson said.

Back To The Future: Everyone Almost Cast As Marty McFly
Image
While Back to the Future is now widely considered one of the greatest films of all time, the Robert Zemeckis-directed movie had an incredibly troubled production, something that even extended to the casting of Marty McFly. Described by the director as a "comedy, adventure, science fiction, time-travel love story," Back to the Future began life in 1980 as an idea based on co-writer Bob Gale's discovery of his father's high school yearbook: Gale wondered whether he would have been friends with his father if the two had attended school together. However, it would take another five years and an incredibly difficult production for Back to the Future to reach theaters.

While Michael J. Fox was the first choice to play Marty McFly in Back to the Future, he was not the only actor considered. Many young actors who would later go on to stardom auditioned to play Marty. However,...

John Carpenter
Halloween (2018) vs Halloween Kills – Face Off
John Carpenter
When John Carpenter’s Halloween was released over forty years ago, the premise for the movie was pretty simple — a madman escapes from a mental health sanatorium, and on the way back to his hometown, he robs a hardware store, taking a 2 William Shatner mask as part of his loot, and proceeds to brutally murder three teens without remorse, mercy, or even a clear motive. Now four decades old, the franchise is ever expanding and has seen installments that range from being fairly badass to unforgivably bad. It has branched off into multiple timelines, a few reboots, featured a young Paul Rudd as Tommy Doyle in The Curse of Michael Myers, and it even veers off at one point to feature a crazed mask maker who attempts to murder all the children in the world using mystical pieces of Stonehenge. While the quality of the overall franchise can be debated,...

Could A Back To The Future Reboot Actually Fix The Original Movies?
Image
Back to the Future is great, but the movies do have some problems, and it can seem like a Back to the Future reboot could fix the original movies. Despite them being classics, some parts of the Back to the Future trilogy haven't aged well, with the films being full of all kinds of insensitive jokes. However, taking the same premise and redoing it in the modern day with modern sensibilities could help update the franchise, meaning that a Back to the Future reboot could be a good idea.

Starting in 1985, the Back to the Future trilogy follows the events of Marty McFly and Doc Brown as they travel through the timeline, specifically to 1955, 2015, and 1885. While Back to the Future was a huge success and is still loved today, the film is a 1980s comedy, meaning that it does have some problems. The debate about a Back to the Future...

1 Back To The Future Joke Suggests Biff Tannen Evolved From Dinosaurs
Image
As strange as it might sound, one Back to the Future joke suggests Biff Tannen evolved from the dinosaurs. In a series like Back to the Future, there’s usually lore thrown in by the creators that embraced the enjoyably absurd possibilities of time travel. Sometimes, a little self-awareness reminds audiences to have a sense of humor and tends to provide some fun insights into the bizarre mysteries that people love to dissect about a franchise’s mythology.

Since the first Back to the Future movie debuted, the Tannen family established themselves as the main antagonists. Often portrayed by actor Thomas F. Wilson, and it seems no matter what era Doc Brown and Marty McFly escape to, there’s always a Tannen around to harass them. However, outside the movies, the comics, cartoons, and video games always suggested a tangled Tannen family tree that extends across time, making for a genealogical nightmare that,...

Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd bonded on the set of Back to the Future Part III

One of the most endearing friendships ever to grace the silver screen is between Marty McFly and Dr. Emmett Brown in the legendary trilogy of the Back to the Future movies. In real life, Michael J. Shrinking Co-Creator Bill Lawrence On Finding Comedy In Grief [Exclusive Interview]
Image
Bill Lawrence isn't all about feel-good television. The creator, known for "Cougar Town," "Scrubs," and "Ted Lasso," doesn't shy away from uncomfortable feelings in his comfort shows. Take, for instance, his new Apple series "Shrinking," which is a comedy that deals death and grief. As Lawrence told us in a recent interview, that wouldn't have been an easy pitch a few years ago.

Lawrence co-created the show with his "Ted Lasso" collaborator Brett Goldstein and actor Jason Segel. "Shrinking" is about therapists helping their patients as they try to put their own lives together, as well. It's not all laughs and doesn't result in triumphant endings, but it's also silly and funny in the way audiences expect from Lawrence shows. In the lead-up to the series premiere, the writer told us about how he strikes the balance between the sweet and the sour in his comedies.

Note: This interview has...

Rick & Morty’s Recasting Already Has An Easy Solution
Image
The removal of Justin Roiland from Rick and Morty may seem to be a major blow to the series, but Rick and Morty has several ways it can explain and integrate new voice actors. Adult Swim announced that it would part ways with Roiland, the series's co-creator and voice of both title characters, after reports of criminal charges for domestic violence surfaced and were followed by additional allegations of sexual misconduct. Given the seriousness of the allegations, Roiland's removal was undoubtedly justified, but it raises the question of whether there's any point doing Rick and Morty without the voice of Rick and Morty.

Voice recasting is rarer in adult-oriented animation than children's shows, but there are undoubtedly recent examples of it, from series such as Family Guy and The Simpsons recasting Black roles for racial sensitivity to fellow Adult Swim show Squidbillies firing and replacing one of its regulars. Rick...

Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie Review: The Beloved Actor Gets An Uplifting, Entertaining And Truly Cinematic Documentary [Sundance]
Image
Michael J. Fox is one of the most beloved actors on the planet. Along with being instantly recognizable thanks to his starring role in the iconic "Back to the Future" franchise, the actor's charming turns in film and television span include his breakthrough role in the classic sitcom "Family Ties," the hairy sports star of "Teen Wolf," a meteoric rise in "The Secret of My Success," his fast-talking, schmoozing performance in "Spin City," and an underrated leading turn in Peter Jackson's "The Frighteners."

But for a long time now, Fox's public persona has been inexorably linked to Parkinson's disease, which the actor was diagnosed with in 1991 -- but Fox wouldn't make his ailment public until 1998, in the middle of his Emmy-winning work on "Spin City." Since then, he's become the poster child for Parkinson's, fighting to round up funding, raising awareness, and hoping to find a cure for the...

Michael J. Fox Didn’t Want Veto Power on His Doc: “Just Go Shoot the Movie”
Image
Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie scored a huge standing ovation when it premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on Friday. As befits its title, the documentary goes deep into the life and legacy of its titular subject, the celebrated actor, author and activist who starred as Marty McFly in the iconic Back to the Future trilogy. Fox stopped by The Hollywood Reporter Sundance Studio (presented by Heineken Silver and Origin Spring Water) with the film’s director Davis Guggenheim and editor Michael Harte to discuss bringing his story to the big screen.

Often, with celebrity documentaries, the film’s subject will have final say in what does or does not make it into the movie’s final cut, leading to projects that perhaps gloss over more complicated components of a person’s life. For Fox, the idea of censoring the film’s source material was absolutely out of the question.

Michael J. Fox Praises Christopher Lloyd, Says Their Friendship Took Off on ‘Back to the Future Part III’: ‘He’s Not Just a Crazy Guy, He’s an Artist’
Image
Michael J. Fox nearly broke the internet last October when he reunited with “Back to the Future” co-star Christopher Lloyd on stage at New York Comic Con. The duo were on the verge of tears as Fox emotionally hugged Lloyd and Lloyd put his arm around Fox. Their reunion led many “Back to the Future” fans to wonder if the two might collaborate on screen again. Fox reflected lovingly on Lloyd at the Variety Studio presented by Audible at Sundance, revealing their friendship didn’t take shape until the third “Back to the Future” movie.

‘Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie’ Review: A Likably Simple Documentary About a Lovably Complicated Actor
Image
“The walking really freaks people out,” Michael J. Fox explains in his Apple-produced documentary, “Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie,” directed by Davis Guggenheim. And, sure enough, it is striking to see him struggle to amble down a New York City sidewalk with his physical therapist by his side. A dog barks at him. Other people say hello. And then he falls.

He’s not wrong. It does initially “freak you out” to see Fox’s Parkinson’s in full effect in the film. It’s without a doubt upsetting to understand the pain of his body or to watch a makeup artist cover up the spot where he broke bones in his face falling. For as distressing as that sounds, Fox is nothing if not a likable figure, and he and Guggenheim have crafted a likable film about both his suffering and resilience without turning him into a martyr.

‘Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie’ Sundance Film Festival Review: With An ’80s Vibe, Davis Guggenheim’s Docu Takes Us Back And To The Future Of An Unstoppable Star
Image
I love the title of Oscar-winning An Inconvenient Truth documentarian Davis Guggenheim’s wonderful new docu on the life and times of Michael J. Fox. It is called Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie. The Sundance website has a colon where you might expect it to be, right after Still, but the press notes leave it out which is how I hope Apple Studios — which has the film for an unspecified future release date and is world premiering it Friday at the Sundance Film Festival — would officially call it. That’s because what Guggenheim, and importantly his editor MIchael Harte, have made is simply that, A Michael J. Fox Movie from start to finish and all that implies.

With the spirit of the kind of 1980s movies that helped make Fox a very big star on both big and small screens, this hybrid uses docu techniques — most notably a talking-head...

Best Michael J. Fox Characters, From Marty McFly to Teen Wolf

Michael J. Fox became a household name when he starred on the sitcom Family Ties back in the 1980s. He became a bona fide superstar in 1985 when he landed the role of Marty McFly opposite Christopher Lloyd in the mega blockbuster, Back to the Future. The actor stayed busy over the next decade until he was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in the early '90s. After that, he continued to work, but was forced to scale back his work schedule. Despite his medical issues, Fox has accumulated an impressive filmography as the Canadian-born actor continues to be an inspirational and beloved figure. Why Back To The Future Has Aged So Well (When So Many Scenes Haven't)
Image
The Back to the Future trilogy holds a special place in many people's hearts, with the franchise seeming almost timeless - which is strange due to the number of scenes that have aged poorly. Back to the Future's time-traveling hijinks focus more on comedy than having an incredibly serious story, and like many other comedies from the 1980s, some scenes and jokes have fallen short of modern standards and values. Despite this, Back to the Future remains a beloved series, with many viewers being willing to overlook the poorly aged moments due to several aspects that have made the trilogy as a whole age incredibly well.

Back to the Future tells the story of Marty McFly, friend of scientist Doc Brown, who accidentally uses Doc's DeLorean time machine to travel 30 years into the past to 1955. Once there, Marty becomes stranded and is required to enlist the help of younger...

Why Doc Brown Is So Rich In Back To The Future
Image
Doc Brown's secret wealth allowed him to fund his own inventions long before the events of Back to the Future Part I. As smart as he is, Christopher Lloyd's Doc Brown wouldn't be able to figure out time travel without a hefty amount of money. All those years of tinkering with different machines and contraptions of varying quality impact Doc Brown's wallet, and since he's never shown to work a side job, the exact source of Doc Brown's funds isn't made entirely clear in the Back to the Future trilogy.

By 1955, Doc Brown is able to afford a wide variety of clocks, a gigantic speaker, and a modified DeLorean. However, Doc Brown still chooses to make a deal with a group of Libyan terrorists in order to get his hands on some plutonium. This is in part because Doc wants to keep his greatest invention from falling into the wrong hands,...

Keanu Reeves Turned Down The Lead Role In Platoon Because He Didn't Want To 'Do Violence'
Image
The question "What if?" can lead you down some interesting rabbit holes if you're interested in Hollywood history. For example, what if Michael J. Fox didn't play Marty McFly in the "Back to the Future" movies? Or what if Robert Downey Jr. didn't get the role of Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? And what if Shrek was voiced by a different "Saturday Night Live" alum? If you look around the internet, you can find some fascinating answers to these questions. In fact, if you look hard enough, you may even be able to peer into the multiverse and get a glimpse of Eric Stoltz in Marty's iconic orange vest or the late, great Chris Farley as the multi-layered ogre.

If alternate cinema history like this interests you, then here's another fun fact: Award-winning filmmaker Oliver Stone initially had a few other up and coming movie stars in mind for "Platoon,...

Back to the Future Debunks Rumors of Animated Series Reboot
Image
A post to the official Back to the Future Twitter page debunks rumors of an animated series reboot for the time-travel franchise. Back to the Future first premiered in 1985 and quickly became the highest-grossing film of the year worldwide. It received critical acclaim for its originality and was nominated for four Academy Awards. Back to the Future's massive success allowed for the release of back-to-back sequel films debuting in 1989 and 1990, respectively. In 1991, an animated television adaptation of the series was released, running for two seasons before it was canceled due to low ratings. Though there have been no new major additions to the franchise, there have been rumors of a Back to the Future reboot for several years now.

In a post to Back to the Future's official Twitter, the franchise debunks rumors of an animated television revival. The account replied to a tweet from Giant Freakin Robot,...

Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson in The Banshees of Inisherin (2022)
Thessaloniki Review: Blitz Sci-Fi Film Lola Packs Schmaltz and Ambition
Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson in The Banshees of Inisherin (2022)
Andrew Legge’s Lola, a faux found footage film that plays with historical and science fiction, gives weight to an emerging idea: could this be the best year for Irish cinema? If you believe the metrics of Rotten Tomatoes, the best-reviewed film of 2022 was once The Banshees of Inisherin. At the time of writing, it’s An Cailín Ciúin (aka The Quiet Girl), a film in the Irish language. Aftersun, the most beloved of any this year, stars Kildare’s Paul Mescal. With Jessie Buckley’s turn in Women Talking leading from the front, there is the wild possibility that five of next year’s acting nominations at the Oscars could go to people from that damp Atlantic rock—one or two might even win.

A little further afield, some independent works have helped buffer the moment: God’s Creatures (another Mescal joint), Donal Foreman’s The Cry of Granuaile, Frank Berry’s Aisha,...

Every Guitarist Marty McFly Copies In Back To The Future's Dance Scene
Image
Back to the Future’s ending paid homage to several well-known rock icons. The 1985 time travel movie is remembered for a number of key scenes, not the least of which being the school dance where Marty played a rock song in front of a crowd of teenagers in 1955. Played by Michael J. Fox, Marty performed a now-famous rendition of a classic Chuck Berry song to ensure that his parents fell in love on the dance floor.

As a story centered around a high school student from the 1980s stuck in a 1950s community, Robert Zemeckis' Back to the Future was filled with moments that highlighted the stark contrast between the two periods. One of the differences, of course, was the music. Even though rock’n’roll was right around the corner with Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, and Berry being some of the most popular musicians of the decade, Marty turned...

Tucker Carlson Blasts Brittney Griner Prisoner Swap: ‘Hating America’ Is a ‘Position Rewarded by Biden’ (Video)
Tucker Carlson
Fox News’ Tucker Carlson knocked President Joe Biden’s announcement on Thursday that he has secured the release of American WNBA player Brittney Griner. The opinion host claimed she was prioritized over former Marine Paul Whelan based on her identity and politics.

Griner was detained in Russia in February for possessing less than a gram of cannabis oil in her luggage while at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport. In exchange for her release, the United States released arms dealer Viktor Bout, who was serving a 25-year sentence after conspiring to sell weapons meant to be used against Americans. Meanwhile, Whelan has been detained in Russia since 2018 on charges of espionage.

Carlson cited a NBC News report which said that Russia originally gave Biden a choice of whether to free Griner or Whelan in exchange for Bout. The initial reporting cited a senior U.S. official. He then claimed that the report...

The 9 Best PG-13 Movies Ever Made, According To Reddit
Image
While it might be surprising, the top earning movie at the box office in 2022 (so far) is also rated PG-13 with Top Gun: Maverick bringing in over 716 million in gross profits. Funny enough, the second and third-biggest movies of the year, Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, are also rated PG-13.

The PG-13 rating generally means the movies are sensitive to a younger audience but could contain some more mature themes not suitable for younger children. Not always scandalous, there have been quite a few great films to hold this rating and Redditors have spoken out about the best PG-13 movies to ever hit the screen.

Persepolis (2007) Rent On Prime Video

"Persepolis is an amazing film that is PG-13" says Reddit user LostInTheDothrakiSea. An animated adaptation of Marjane Satrapi's graphic novel series of the same title, the 2007 Academy Award nominee chronicles Satrapi's life...

Back To The Future's Chuck Berry Paradox Has An Easy Solution
Image
Marty McFly's "Johnny B. Goode" performance during the Enchantment Under the Sea Dance in Back to the Future can be viewed as a bootstrap paradox. Chuck Berry released the song in 1958, three years after the dance's 1955 setting. A joke during the performance sees the bandleader, and Chuck Berry's cousin, Marvin Berry, calling Chuck on the phone to give the song a listen, suggesting that Marty McFly's performance inspired the original piece.

Some factors can explain how Marty McFly performing "Johnny B. Goode" isn't precisely a bootstrap paradox, which is a time-travel paradox occurring when something from the future creates a causal relationship for something that already existed in the time traveler's past. This includes how the song's main riff was written in 1946 and performed by Carl Hogan on "Ain't That Just Like A Woman." Even distorted guitars aren't paradoxical since that sound was invented in 1951. However, some elements of...

Why So Many People Didn’t Think Back To The Future Would Succeed
Image
Despite Back to the Future's overwhelming success upon release, many didn't think the movie would do well — and for a surprising reason. When screenwriters Bob Gale and Robert Zemeckis were trying to get Back to the Future made, they had trouble convincing studios to pick up the now iconic time travel movie. Ironically enough, the reason many studios didn't want to finance Back to the Future ended up being one of the contributing factors as to why audiences loved it so much.

In the documentary Back in Time, Back to the Future writer-producer Bob Gale and director of photography Dean Cundey speak about the constant anxieties that studios had when they pitched the movie around Hollywood. In the early 1980s, when Gale and Zemeckis wrote the Back to the Future script, there weren't many time travel movies being made — or rather, there weren't many successful time travel movies being made.

Michael J. Fox in Back to the Future (1985)
Back to the Future vs Back to the Future Part II – Face Off
Michael J. Fox in Back to the Future (1985)
Nowadays, movie studios are all about franchises, tentpoles, superheroes, and spin-offs. But there’s one groundbreaking trilogy of films that cemented their place in pop culture and won’t be receiving a big-screen remake anytime soon if the original creators have anything to say about it. Released in 1985, Back to the Future put a new spin on the concept of time travel and became an instant classic. Directed by Robert Zemeckis and co-written with Bob Gale (and executive produced by Steven Spielberg), the filmmakers easily created the best movie about time travel along with a trilogy hailed as cultural touchstones.

The sequel, Back to the Future Part 2, picks up right where we left off with Marty McFly and Doc Brown. That film didn’t hit theaters until 1989, with it being shot back-to-back with Part 2I. The follow-up was met with mixed reviews upon release, but fans and critics now regard...

Why A Back To The Future Reboot Should Absolutely Never Happen
Image
The Back to the Future franchise is one of the most beloved of all time, but it should never be rebooted. Since the first film debuted in 1985, it instantly became a phenomenon, spawning two sequels, various video games, and more. In the age of nostalgia, there have been talks of revisiting the films in the form of a reboot or a fourth movie. Unfortunately, rebooting the film would only cheapen its incredible, everlasting legacy instead of keeping it going through newer generations.

Director Robert Zemeckis and writer Bob Gale share the film rights to Back to the Future. Zemeckis has made it clear that there will never be a reboot, stating, "That can’t happen until both Bob and I are dead. And then I’m sure they’ll do it, unless there’s a way our estates can stop it." He also went on to say that it would be outrageous to reboot,...

Yes, A Back To The Future Reboot Can Work (& Here's How)
Image
Although the Back to the Future trilogy is widely considered to be better left untouched, there are at least three ways a reboot can work. In 1985, Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale struck gold with the first Back to the Future movie. Its precise blend of sci-fi elements and lighthearted spirit, coupled with the pitch-perfect casting of Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly and Christopher Lloyd as Doc Brown, quickly made Back to the Future a massive hit, leading to two back-to-back sequels that completed a self-contained trilogy.

Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd's legacy make it very hard for a fourth Back to the Future to match the original trilogy's popularity, even if a remake finds a talented cast and a creative director. But taking into account the Hollywood industry's penchant for remakes and reboots, it wouldn't be out of the ordinary to see a Back to the Future reimagining...

Michael J. Fox & Christopher Lloyd Debut Bttf Merch With New Images
Image
Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd reunite to launch new collection of Back to the Future merchandise. Ever since its release in 1985, the sci-fi adventure movie has become a Hollywood classic that spawned its own trilogy and touched generations of fans. Lloyd, star of stage and screen, has appeared throughout his long career in films including One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, Clue and The Addams Family. Fox, superstar of the '80s and '90s with Family Ties, Teen Wolf and Spin City, has notably retreated from the spotlight following his Parkinson's Disease diagnosis at the young age of 30. Nevertheless, both actors have come together over the years to commemorate Back to the Future's longevity, which is now heading in an exciting new direction.

After teasing some kind of franchise announcement, Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd have officially launched their own line of Back To The Future...

Rick & Morty's Darkest Back to the Future Reference Kills Marty McFly

The dimension-hopping, multiverse-saving, crude-talking duo known as Rick and Morty owe a lot to the ‘80s film, Back to the Future, and in a comic book tale centering around the Council of Ricks, the series’ darkest reference to this iconic time-travel movie kills the franchise’s main character, Marty McFly, in a super brutal way!

Part of a series of one-shot issues that delve into other corners of Rick and Morty lore not always fully explored in the show, this particular story follows a handful of different Ricks associated with the group of characters dubbed the Council of Ricks as they set out on a mission to save the multiverse.
