The Last WWE Star From Attitude Era: Why John Cena and Randy Orton Do Not Belong to the Best WWE Era
Image
WWE has gone through various time periods in its illustrious four-decade-long history. The true image of a global juggernaut began to form in the golden age of wrestling that started in the late 1980s and lasted until the mid-1990s. Following that, WWE entered the most important period that ensured their survival and changed the face of sports entertainment forever.

The glorious age of wrestling came to be known as ‘The Attitude Era’, which saw the rise of megastars like The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker, Triple H, and countless others. However, from the important timeline, only one superstar is a part of the active roster, and to the surprise of many, it is not either John Cena or Randy Orton.

Why Was Brock Lesnar Angry After Beating Roman Reigns at WrestleMania?
Image
Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns is the most overrated and overdone feud of the century. They had some of the most mediocre matches in WWE history, yet the company considers this rivalry as one of the greatest ever. This designation can be given to Stone Cold vs The Rock, John Cena vs. Edge, Cm Punk vs. John Cena, etc. However, Reigns and Lesnar do not deserve to be in that category.

In between the matches at WrestleMania 31 and Summerslam 2022, they had a very boring match catalogue filled with not so great matches. This rivalry reached peak boredom in 2018 when Vince McMahon was desperate to make Reigns the new face of the company. When Brock Lesnar won the Universal title in WrestleMania 33, everyone knew who his opponent was going to be next year.

Triple H Left Chyna for Billion Dollar Princess Stephanie McMahon but He Won’t Forget Her Greatest Gift to WWE
Image
WWE fans witnessed the beginning of the McMahon-Helmsley era during the Attitude Era. Triple H drugged and married Mr. McMahon’s daughter Stephanie McMahon in the Kayfabe storyline, and she later joined him to form an elite team. There is a dark side to this story. Even though the two got into a real-life relationship, got married, and started a family.

Before his relationship with Stephanie, Triple H was seeing Chyna, and it was said that he was still seeing her when he and Steph started dating. Chyna was naturally devastated by the alleged infidelity. It led to a very acrimonious breakup. They never made amends with each other because Chyna passed away in 2016. Hhh still fondly remembers Chyna and her role in his career and Dx.

Brian James, Founding Guitarist of The Damned, Dead at 70
Image
Brian James, founding guitarist and principal early songwriter for the legendary UK punk band The Damned, has died at the age of 70.

James’ passing was reported on his Facebook page, with no cause of death listed. The guitarist, who was born in London in 1955, had just turned 70 on February 18th.

Prior to The Damned, James played in the proto-punk bands London SS, The Subterraneans, and Bastard. He formed The Damned in 1976 with singer Dave Vanian, bassist Captain Sensible, and drummer Rat Scabies.

James wrote most of the songs on the band’s first two albums — Damned Damned Damned and Music for Pleasure — including “New Rose,” which is considered the first-ever UK punk single (preceding any releases by The Clash or Sex Pistols). However, he quit the band at the end of 1977, the same year both of those albums were released.

He went on to form the band Tanz Der Youth...

10 WWE Finishers That Wrestlers Hate To Take
Image
Professional wrestling is far more physically demanding than some people give credit for, particularly in the eyes of non-fans who look at WWE from the outside looking in. To non-fans, the sport might be "fake," but most moves that wrestlers do in the ring can't be faked, and especially the pain behind them. While at least 90% of moves in a wrestling ring can be done safely, every move has its risks and drawbacks for the person receiving it, including some iconic finishers.

Finishers are a big part of the wrestling business, and every wrestler performs their own in almost every match. Some, however, are more painful than others, despite the way they look. Over the years, WWE superstars have expressed how much they hated taking a specific colleague's finisher move, and while some are to be expected, other entries in this list will come as a total surprise.

“You will pay for your crime for having Glenn Close say this”: 8 Time Oscar Nominee Has One of the Most Ridiculous Dialogues Ever in Netflix’s Horror Movie The Deliverance
Image
Lee Daniels’ new horror film, The Deliverance, has received mixed reviews, but Glenn Close’s performance has been widely praised by fans. Daniels’ film is a supernatural thriller based on the real-life Ammons haunting case. In the film, Andra Day plays Ebony Jackson, a character inspired by Latoya Ammons, while Close plays her religious White mother.

However, in one unexpectedly light moment, Close delivers a line that almost choked up fans with laughter. The line felt majorly out of place in an otherwise spine-chilling film. While some fans found the moment amusing, others were disappointed that Daniels had an eight-time Oscar nominee deliver such a line.

One Song Was Left Out Of Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 Because Of A Legal Battle
Image
"Guardians of the Galaxy" director James Gunn is a music connoisseur and personally selects the film's soundtracks. These needle drops blur the line of diegesis; Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) owns a Walkman (and later a Zune) and the songs in the first two movies are all from mixtapes gifted to him by his mother. "Guardians of the Galaxy" introduced us to the adult Quill by having him dance around the barren planet Morag, listening to "Come and Get Your Love" by Redbone — perfectly capturing both Star-Lord's space cowboy persona and the film's retro musical taste.

Speaking to Absolute Radio, Gunn said he picks songs not because they're his personal favorites but because they fit the movie. "Vol. 2" features "The Chain" by Fleetwood Mac, and the song's refrain of "keep us togethe," reflects the struggles of the Guardians to stay together despite their own flaws pushing them apart.

Thanks to Peter's new Zune,...

Crypto.com to reduce 20 of workforce amid ongoing economic headwinds
Image
New Delhi, Jan 13 (Ians) Crypto lending exchange Crypto.com on Friday announced that the company will reduce its global workforce by approximately 20 per cent amid ongoing economic headwinds and unforeseeable industry events.

This is the second major layoff at Crypto.com, which laid off about 260 employees, or nearly 5 per cent of its workforce, in mid-2022.

“We grew ambitiously at the start of 2022, building on our incredible momentum and aligning with the trajectory of the broader industry. That trajectory changed rapidly with a confluence of negative economic developments,” Kris Marszalek, co-founder and CEO of Crypto.com, said in a blog post.

The company did not specify which positions were eliminated in the latest round of layoffs, but blamed the failure of Ftx, whose misappropriation of customer funds and bankruptcy “significantly damaged trust in the industry”.

Meanwhile, another crypto exchange Coinbase laid off 20 per cent of its workforce, or about 950 people, to...

Road Dogg Shoots On Big Vince McMahon & Triple H Difference For Nxt
Image
The differences between Triple H and Vince McMahon are numerous, and Road Dogg recently explained one significant shift that Nxt has experienced since The Game took over WWE in July. McMahon's retirement was shocking and unforeseen, but it didn't take long for Triple H to leave his mark on the company. He's re-signed or brought back wrestlers such as Dakota Kai, Iyo Sky, and Hit Row. From a production standpoint, Raw and SmackDown also feel much different than they did five months ago. There have behind-the-scenes shits too, and Road Dogg recently explained how those had impacted Nxt.

Speaking on his Oh You Didn't Know... podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer explained how Triple H deals with Nxt call-ups and how it differs from McMahon's approach. "[Triple H] understands much more about giving fair warning, so you can write the person out or write the person off or however you're going to do it.

‘WWE Raw’ Review (Oct 10th 2022)

Welcome to this review of this past Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, right here on Nerdly. This is the “season premiere” for Raw (though it’s never off TV), which means something of a reboot for the show… so let’s see what went down this week!

Match #1: Johnny Gargano def. Austin Theory The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

In the height of a hard-fought, deeply personal matchup against Austin Theory, Johnny Gargano delivered an earth-shattering kick to the youngest Mr. Money in the Bank in WWE history to knock his opponent outside the ring. Then, after charging through the ropes to to follow up with another Ddt onto the ringside floor, Gargano hit one final Ddt in the ring for the three-count.

My Score: 3 out of 5 Match #2: Rey Mysterio def. Chad Gable The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
