Lift Movie Review Rating:
Star Cast: Kevin Hart, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Vincent D’Onofrio, Úrsula Corberó, Billy Magnussen, Viveik Kalra, Yun Jee Kim
Director: F. Gary Gray
Lift Movie Review ( Photo Credit – IMDb )
What’s Good: Not trying too hard to release this in theatres and giving us the option to skip it midway…
What’s Bad: …though I couldn’t skip the film midway because of the review, but you can
Loo Break: You don’t even have to pause the film; in fact, watch it for ten minutes and go on a break for 1 hour 30 minutes, and by the time you are back, this will be over
Watch or Not?: Lol! Would you still ask from whatever you’ve read till now?
Language: English
Available On: Netflix
Runtime: 1 hour 44 minutes

Kevin Hart and Gugu Mbatha-Raw have great chemistry, adding tension and drama to the film. F. Gary Gray's directorial choices make Lift visually appealing and entertaining. Despite some flaws in the script and side characters, Lift is a quality and enjoyable action-comedy worth watching.
In his fourth Netflix feature film within the last five years, Kevin Hart’s latest partnership with the streaming service sees him as heist grand master Cyrus Whitaker. In his quest to pull off the biggest and most challenging heist of his career, Cyrus joins his league of super thieves to do the unthinkable. Lift, written by Daniela Kunka and directed by F. Gary Gray, pulls together an all-star cast to steal $100 million in gold to prevent world disasters. It's as ridiculous as it sounds, but for once, Netflix’s zest for absurdity pays off.

Chicago – According to multiple reports from the 2010 Cannes Film Festival, Oliver Schmitz’s artfully lensed, sensitively acted film received one of the warmest receptions. Set in a modern South African village, “Life, Above All” is one of several recent pictures aiming to illustrate that an HIV-positive diagnosis is no longer a death sentence. It’s a film of grand statements delivered with quiet power.
Like Ramin Bahrani, Schmitz is extraordinarily gifted at eliciting naturalistic performances from untrained actors. At the heart of “Life” is Khomotso Manyaka, a child actress devoid of any self-conscious mannerisms to indicate that she is, in fact, acting. Manyaka’s work is beautiful, but Schmitz’s direction is the key to her success. By allowing his young star to freely inhabit her character, he avoids the usual pitfalls that occur when an overly ambitious director is paired with a blank slate. Schmitz seems to know precisely...
