Will MomTok survive a reunion special?
The core cast of Hulu’s unscripted series The Secret Live of Mormon Wives gathered for a drama-filled evening, with the first teaser, released Monday, showing the ladies, and men, of MomTok picking right back up on the drama that the 10-episode second season ended with.
“Let’s get into it,” reunion special host Nick Viall said to kick off the teaser. And get into they do — jumping to a clip of Viall grilling castmember Jessi Ngatikaura on whether she cheated. Castmember Whitney Leavitt, who emerged from the show’s first season as the apparent antagonist, said she wouldn’t trust an unnamed “her.” There were plenty of tears throughout the teaser — among the women and men. The episode will “uncover secrets and scandals, never-before-seen footage and a surprise announcement,” according to a release.

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has finally returned for Season 2, amassing 5M views in the first five days of streaming globally on Disney+ and Hulu.
Per Disney, viewership on the season premiere is up from the first season, though the company didn’t give specifics on that.
It’s difficult to qualify this performance, since Disney doesn’t release viewing data for every title. It also frequently changes the measurement window for which it releases data, adding another complicated layer to any comparisons.
Previously, Pixar’s Dream Productions tallied 5.6M views in five days, and The Acolyte generated 11.1M in the same time frame. However, neither of these titles are likely to have the same core audience as The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, so direct comparisons wouldn’t do much good.
Disney did also say that the reality series has held a top spot on the Hulu Top 15 Today list since Season 2 premiered.

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is back, with season two of the Hulu reality show premiering in Los Angeles on Friday.
The show — starring Jennifer Affleck, Demi Engemann, Taylor Frankie Paul, Whitney Leavitt, Mikayla Matthews, Miranda McWhorter, Mayci Neeley, Jessi Ngatikaura and Layla Taylor — follows a group of Mormon mom influencers, dubbed #MomTok, who made international headlines in 2022 with a swinging sex scandal and have been navigating the fallout ever since. The renewal of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” was a no-brainer: As Variety previously reported, the series’ full-season drop on Sept. 6 immediately became Hulu’s most-watched unscripted premiere this year, beating out other Hulu original content like “The Kardashians,” as well as ABC’s reality offerings such as “The Bachelor.” In Nielsen’s numbers for the week of its premiere, “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” ranked at No. 7 on the streaming originals chart, based on only three days of data. Also? Season 1 ended on a literal cliffhanger, so fans need to know what comes next.

There will be more of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” coming to your screen.
Hulu has renewed the unscripted series for 20 additional episodes, the streamer announced Thursday. The news comes nearly a month after “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” launched, with all eight episodes streaming on Sept. 6.
“Secret Lives” centers on a group of Mormon content creators known as “MomTok,” led by the self-proclaimed founder of MomTok Taylor Frankie Paul, and also includes Demi Engemann, Jen Affleck, Jessi Ngatikaura, Layla Taylor, Mayci Neeley, Mikayla Matthews and Whitney Leavitt.
The series follows their rise to fame as the women push stereotypes of what being a Mormon wife looks like, as well as the subsequent scandal that happened in spring 2022 when word broke that the group was “soft swinging” with each other.
“There was a philosophical question raised in Season 1, which was ‘Can #MomTok survive this?’ The answer unequivocally is yes!

It’s no longer a well-kept secret:
Some Mormon wives have Very interesting lives!
This much was made clear on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 1, which premiered this summer on Hulu and which introduced viewers to women who swing, who dominate TikTok and who are even related to Ben Affleck.
Hulu found itself a pretty big hit with Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. (Hulu)
Considering all the buzz surrounding this project, many fans continue to ask:
Will there be a Secret Lives of Mormon Wives Season 2?
“There’s so many stories that these women have to share,” producer Danielle Pistotnik told Us Weekly as part of the tabloid’s latest cover story.
“Their upbringing is unbelievably heartbreaking — a lot of them — and it is so inspiring to listen to.”

Titles like ‘A Small Light’ and ‘Togo’ have been removed from Disney+ even as the streamer prepares to hike its subscription rates.
Disney+ is apparently feeling pretty confident about its ability to shrug off the ire of customers, these days. The service has enacted a new round of title removals, pulling more than 20 shows and movies from its catalog in its latest efforts to streamline. The removals themselves aren’t all that rare, but the response from Disney when asked about the pulled titles reveals a company that has no qualms about facing backlash from customers, despite the public relations year it’s had.
Key Details: Titles removed from Disney+ include “Hailey’s On It,” “Love & WWE: Bianca & Montez,” and more. Disney defended the decision to remove the titles, saying they represented less than 2% of its catalog. Disney+ plans are increasing in price starting Oct. 17. Sign Up Now $7.99+ / month disneyplus.

All-Star Cosplay (@all_starcosplay) specializes in creative and accurate Batman designs, with the Batman of Zur-En-Arrh being the latest addition to their cosplay repertoire. The vivid colors and detailed elements of the Zur-En-Arrh cosplay stand out, adding a sinister and unhinged touch to the character that mimics his comic counterpart well. Despite being underrepresented in the cosplay space, Zur-En-Arrh's live-action adaptation has great potential and should be explored further.
In DC Comics, Batman is an iconic superhero who always has a backup plan for his backup plan, with his second personality, the Batman of Zur-En-Arrh, being a dangerously unchained version of The Caped Crusader who doesn't always act all that heroic. Now in an inspired cosplay design, Batmans Zur-En-Arhh persona gets the real-world look he deserves, proving that Batmans darkest costume needs a live-action adaptation as soon as possible.

It’s been exactly one year since the final season of “Bling Empire” premiered, and reality TV veteran Jeff Jenkins, who has executive produced shows ranging from “The Simple Life” to “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” looks back at the Netflix series about affluent Asian Americans as one of his most personal and proudest projects.

“Luann and Sonja: Welcome to Crappie Lake” just finished its first season, and stars Luann de Lesseps and Sonja Morgan hope to hit the road again soon.
The Bravo series followed the two “Real Housewives of New York” alum as they traveled to Benton, Illinois, to revive the local tourism after the pandemic. While in Benton, de Lesseps and Morgan sampled the local attractions (including crappie fishing and a testicle festival) and men. Sunday’s Season 1 finale culminated with a variety show featuring the duo and Benton residents.
“When they asked us to do the show, we didn’t know what to expect,” de Lesseps told TheWrap. “And we say that often about starting a new season of ‘Housewives’ — you just never know, right? We went in kind of blindfolded. And we were really pleasantly surprised by how wonderful the people were.”

As you may have heard, the 2023 San Diego Comic-Con International was not the usual Sdcc experience.
On July 14, the American actors’ union SAG-AFTRA joined their writing counterparts in the WGA by going on strike and picketing the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) for its refusal to grant them a fair deal. Since the details of the strike preclude actors and writers from promoting their union-backed films and TV shows, many of the planned panels, promotions, and guests at Comic-Con had to bow out.
The end result was a Con that very much resembled the event’s earlier days before it became a action item on the calendar for big studios like Marvel, DC, and others to showcase their upcoming blockbusters. And you know what? It was all still pretty cool!

Reality television producer Jeff Jenkins has worked with a lot of big personalities in his career, including the Kardashians, Paris Hilton and Mariah Carey. His newest show, Bravo’s “Luann and Sonja: Welcome to Crappie Lake,” features former “Real Housewives” Luann de Lesseps and Sonja Morgan. Comic-Con and the Party Report return to a SAG-AFTRA and WGA strike affected San Diego where celebrities avoided the party scene because of guild rules. As a result, EW canceled their annual (and usually star-studded) bash; an indication of a very different year at Sdcc — and on the comic-con parties scene. But the con raged on just the same, so here are TheWrap’s photos from some of Sdcc 2023’s best parties.

The ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA labor strikes, claimed their first major fan expo victim in San Diego Comic-Con 2023. Last year, the annual geek fest was back in full swing post-covid with the party scene returning with numerous bashes around Comic-Con.
But this year, with Hollywood talent practically forbidden from even attending the event, many brands have pulled out along with big-name party cancellations. Brands who sponsor Comic-Con bashes want Hollywood film and tv stars on their step and repeats. No stars? No brands? No parties.
Comic-Con’s biggest bash via Entertainment Weekly cancelled due to the strikes. IMDb, decided not to go forward with their annual yacht party, but will have a presence this year regardless. The yacht will serve as a floating fan experience and will be docked at Fifth Avenue Landing, directly behind the San Diego Convention Center.
Comic-Con 2023 is going to look like the cons of yore before Hollywood arrived.

Jeff Jenkins made his name in unscripted television as an executive producer of E!’s “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” among other shows. But he’d been thinking about starting his own production company for some time before exiting his position as co-president of Bunim-Murray Productions. His desire to entertain viewers and inspire meaningful conversations with his shows pushed him to take the leap.
“We get to tell stories that, once in a while, actually can help advance our human culture in a small way,” Jenkins told TheWrap for this week’s Office With a View.
That’s what he’s striving to do at Jeff Jenkins Productions, which he formed in 2018, a year after leaving Bunim-Murray, alongside 3Bmg Entertainment’s CEO Ross Weintraub and Chairman Reinout Oerlemans. 3Bmg co-produces the programming alongside Jenkins and his company, which operates out of 3Bmg’s production offices in Sherman Oaks.
