10 Best '90s Zombie Movies, Ranked
Image
Zombie movies in the 1990s showcased a mix of comedy horrors and gory releases, diversifying the genre scene. Acclaimed directors like Wilson Yip, Clive Barker, and Peter Jackson created standout zombie movies of the decade. Despite being a decline for the genre, some 1990s zombie movies like Cemetery Man still hold up well.

The 1990s were a strange time for zombie movies, which didnt have as many classics as other decades, although there were still great releases during this time. While George A. Romeros Night of the Living Dead signaled the birth of the modern zombie movie in the 1960s, and the 1970s and 1980s have countless iconic releases, the last decade before the millennium amounted to somewhat of a slump for the genre and may have been impacted by viewer fatigue from years gone by. However, despite this decline, some movies stood out amongst the rest and still hold up today.

‘Left Behind: Rise of the Antichrist’ Review: Kevin Sorbo Steps Into Nicolas Cage’s Shoes for Sequel, After Rapture of Previous Movie’s Entire Cast
Image
If you see just one thriller this year in which a climactic car chase is followed by the director-star breaking character to deliver a five-minute sermon straight into the camera — followed by three more minutes of Mike Huckabee leading viewers in prayer to accept Jesus into their hearts, before the end credits roll — then make it “Left Behind: Rise of the Antichrist,” the latest in a series of apocalyptic films based on the bestselling Christian book series.

Although “Rise” is the sixth feature derived from dozens of rapture-iffic novels and spinoff novellas published under the “Left Behind” banner in the mid-’90s through mid-2000s, it’s the first in the film series to have Kevin Sorbo as a leading man as well as director. Where past installments were relatively coy about their evangelistic purpose, Sorbo opts to add a literal come-to-Jesus epilogue. You may recall that the last actor...

President Donald J. Trump Invites African American Stars to White House
Image
Fighting 4 One America — A prominent group of African American actors and entertainers have accepted President Donald J. Trump’s invitation to visit the White House in December to work together on important issues facing the Black Community.

In a late-night night phone call with the President Saturday night, rappers Eric B. and Money-b, actor Isaiah Washington, who are among the stars in Trump vs. Hollywood, and film director Daphne Barak, all agreed to continue their discussion of economic opportunity, criminal justice reform and the President’s groundbreaking “Platinum Plan” to deliver greater opportunity, security, prosperity and fairness to their communities.

“Thirty years ago I had a conversation with Donald Trump and he told me never to be afraid to hire the best people in business, even if they have more experience than me,” said rap pioneer Eric B., a lifelong Democrat. “And that conversation has shaped my business decisions ever since.

Let There Be Light review – Christian conversion drama is cinematic heresy
Kevin ‘Hercules’ Sorbo stars as an atheist who finds God in a humourless tale full of flimsy characters and flimsier acting

‘Jesus got whacked, badda boom. Then the body disappeared.” That’s the Easter story in a nutshell according to pastor Vinny (Michael Franzese), a wiseguy turned man of the cloth. Pastor Vinny is a brief chink of humour in this speechy, preachy Christian-themed movie – to be filed in the subgenre of conversion dramas about militant atheists finding God. It’s produced by Fox News host Sean Hannity, and the director is Kevin “Hercules” Sorbo, who also stars as a sneering liberal intellectual frequently introduced on the lecture circuit as “the world’s most famous atheist”. He’s called Dr Sol Harkens.

An almighty whiff of phoniness hangs over proceedings – not least in Sorbo’s portrayal of Sol, who looks and behaves more like the dishy doctor in a daytime soap than a rock-star intellectual.

Let There Be Light Review
Easter weekend usually signals an onslaught of religious movies, especially coming from the other side of the pond. While it’s easy to dismiss the majority of these films as too simplistic in their approach to faith, some in the past, see The Shack, have offered a little more gravitas than others. The same sadly can’t be said about Let There Be Light, a film so ingrained in blind-faith and conservatism that it could turn any God-fearing christian into a confirmed atheist.

Directed by and starring TV’s very own Hercules Kevin Sorbo, the film is co-produced by conservative Fox News anchor Sean Hannity and is written by Sorbo’s wife Sam Sorbo alongside veteran writer Dan Gordon, the man behind Hollywood classics such as Wyatt Earp and The Hurricane.

Outspoken and heavy drinking atheist writer Dr. Sol Harkens (Sorbo) is a firm believer in science and has made...

Official Trailer for Cheesy Animal Rescue Movie 'Bernie The Dolphin'
"When they find themselves in too deep, it's time to make some waves." Lionsgate has debuted a trailer for a movie titled Bernie The Dolphin, another one of these adorable family films about befriending and then saving various marine animals. This "sunny family adventure" is about a brother and sister who befriend a dolphin. But when Bernie goes missing, the kids go looking for him. While searching, they discover a real-estate development plan that threatens the baby sea turtles on their favorite beach. Can the brave duo stop the developers while racing to reunite Bernie with his loved ones? (Of course they can!) Bernie The Dolphin stars Lola Sultan, Logan Allen, Patrick Muldoon, Stelio Savante, Dahlia Legault, Lily Cardone, Sam Sorbo, with Kevin Sorbo. This looks super cheesy, but at least it's about saving/protecting animals. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Kirk Harris' Bernie The Dolphin, direct...

Kevin Sorbo in Let There Be Light (2017)
'Let There Be Light': Film Review
Kevin Sorbo in Let There Be Light (2017)
Let There Be Light represents a clearly personal, family affair for former Hercules star Kevin Sorbo, who stars in and makes his directorial debut with the faith-based film. The screenplay was co-written by his real-life spouse Sam Sorbo, who plays his character's ex-wife, and their sons Braden and Shane appear as the couple's offspring. But while Christian audiences will no doubt embrace this heavily proselytizing drama, secular viewers are likely to feel like they've been accosted by a street corner preacher.

Sorbo plays Sol Harkens, a famed atheist whose latest best-selling book is entitled Aborting God (just one example of...

Kevin Sorbo: Strokes Were Blessings In Disguise
Kevin Sorbo
In September 1997, Kevin Sorbo was sitting pretty. He was playing the title role in the TV show "Hercules," had just filmed his first action movie, "Kull the Conqueror," and had recently become engaged to actress Sam Jenkins. And then, quite literally, his world collapsed.

Sorbo suffered an aneurysm followed by three strokes. He almost lost his arm, and the battle was far from over. Sorbo's balance and vision were severely impaired and there was a constant hum in his head -- and it took many years until his health improved.

His life-changing health scare is recounted in the new book "True Strength," a gripping account of Sarbo's illness and gradual recovery.

So tell me how it all started.

I had months of sensation running down my left arm, tingling, coldness in my fingers... It just got to the point where it was driving me nuts. I was back in America...

Kevin Sorbo Says Multiple Strokes “A Gift”
It takes a strong man to look on three strokes as a “gift.” And not just a physically-strong man like former Hercules star Kevin Sorbo, but an emotionally-strong man like…well, actually, like Kevin Sorbo. As the action star explains in his new book True Strength, “It certainly hurt my career, which I wasn’t happy about, but with God I finally got to a point where I was told by a couple of people that I had to look at it as a gift. It was hard for me to do. It didn’t kill me. It certainly made me stronger. It pushed me to become a bigger and stronger man — physically and mentally.” And if strokes can make someone bigger and stronger than Kevin Sorbo was in 1997, then the U.S. government needs to harness it before the terrorists get to it.

Despite his lengthy recovery process, Sorbo...

Kevin Sorbo Reveals He's Had Several Strokes
Kevin Sorbo
Even Hercules has problems faced by mere mortals - only Kevin Sorbo, who played the demi-God on the '90s TV hit Hercules, didn't want his audiences to know it. As he is only now divulging, during filming of his series he suffered a series of strokes that he kept secret at the time. Flashback to the summer of 1997, when Hercules was going strong. Sorbo, then 38, was working out fiendishly so he could perform his own stunts and fighting on-set. But then began feeling pain, aching, tingling and cold sensations in his left arm and hand. "At the time, I...

Mr. January: Kevin Sorbo
Have you ever wondered what it would be like if Fabio weren’t totally gay? The answer is "Kevin Sorbo". This all-American hunk made a name for himself as the studly, oft-shirtless Hercules on the mid-1990’s TV series Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. 6'4" Kevin has since played the tall handsome dude in Kull the Conqueror, Walking Tall 2, and the sci-fi TV series Andromeda. You might have seen him in the 2008 horror film Never Cry Werewolf or the sci-fi flick Something Beneath. He just wrapped the new fantasy movie Tales of an Ancient Empire and the comedy series Wolf Canyon, and he makes an appearance as Mr. Phoenix in the exploitationsploitation flick Bitch Slap, out this month in theaters. Kevin is so sweet and devastatingly handsome that he’s quite possibly the sexiest Scary Stud of the Month we’ve ever had. He exudes sex appeal and charm, and it...
