Christine (1983) Revisited – Horror Movie Review
Image
The Christine episode of Revisited was Written by Vannah Taylor, Narrated by Niki Minter, Edited by Juan Jimenez, Produced by Tyler Nichols and John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.

The horror genre is littered with haunted objects. Anything under the sun could be the subject of a good popcorn thriller, whether it is cursed video tapes in chilling films like The Ring, possessed furniture in low budget comedies like Killer Sofa, or wind up toys that decide the fates of the characters in The Monkey. One of these killer objects is so enigmatic, she has her own name: Christine.

John Carpenter’s Christine (1983), adapted from Stephen King’s novel of the same name, has endured as an unusual yet effective blend of supernatural horror and adolescent drama. In a rare move, the film adaptation went into production before the book was even released—a testament to King’s...

Vacancy (2007) – Wtf Happened to This Horror Movie?
Image
The episode of Wtf Happened to This Horror Movie? covering The Silence of the Lambs was Written by Mike Holtz, Narrated by Travis Hopson, Edited by Juan Jimenez, Produced by Andrew Hatfield and John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.

There are many rules in the genre of horror. Never build anything on top of an ancient Indian burial ground. Don’t say “I’ll be right back”. Because you won’t. Don’t decide the best time to transfer Michael Myers to a new location is on Halloween night. That one’s simple common sense but here we are. Another should be that finding any physical media when in a horror movie is a very bad thing. From the VHS tape in The Ring to Ethan Hawke’s box of family fun in Sinister, all the way down to the Necronomicon. In today’s horror movie, the rule...

Dead & Buried (1981) Revisited – Horror Movie Review
Image
The episode of Revisited covering Dead & Buried was Written and Narrated by Andrew Hatfield, Edited by Juan Jimenez, Produced by Tyler Nichols and John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.

The slow burn is a somewhat lost and misunderstood art. I say somewhat lost because A24 sure tries their damnedest to give us that once or even a few times a year. Slow burn movies, when done right, are a thing of beauty. They take their time to get you where They want you to go but don’t have to skimp on things like gore, sex, violence, or shock. The Italians mastered it, particularly with their Giallo genre and some of the greatest slow burn horror comes from the early 70s to the mid 80s. When it was able to be translated to American audiences, it didn’t always stick the landing. Dan O’Bannon would give us...

Hellboy (2004) Revisited – Horror Movie Review
Image
The episode of Revisited covering the 2004 version of Hellboy was Written by Emilie Black, Narrated by Niki Minter, Edited by Juan Jimenez, Produced by Tyler Nichols and John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.

Comic book adaptations are everywhere these days, but in the early 2000s, they were a bit more of a rarity. There were some, but not a ton. 2004 saw a group of comic book adaptations come out including Immortal and Renegade and movies like Constantine, Aeon Flux, and Sin City were announced for 2005. One movie that came out in 2004 and made an impression, positioning the director, Guillermo del Toro, for much bigger things was Hellboy (watch it Here). This was his follow-up to the fantastic Blade II and, thus, not his first foray into comic book movies.

Now, let’s get this clear from the start, Mr. Del Toro is a monster cinema God to me,...
