Blu-ray Clips & Trailer from The Projected Man
Directed by Ian Curteis, The Projected Man is an exploration of what happens when grand scientific efforts go awry. The Projected Man Blu-ray hits shelves tomorrow from Scream Factory, and we have a look at two high-def clips and a trailer from the 1966 sci-fi horror film.

The Projected Man Blu-ray: "A million volts of death in each of his hands!

Dr. Paul Steiner and Dr. Christopher Mitchell have created a projection device that can transmit any object within a few miles of their new device. The device works well on inanimate objects, but using it on a living device causes death. When Steiner is accidentally projected, he becomes a disfigured monster who has the ability to kill by electrification. This first-time-on-home-video release features a new 2K scan of the film's interpositive.

The City of the Dead
This horror almost-classic has Christopher Lee and great atmosphere. Keep a sharp lookout for All Them Witches: they're not easy to spot... if you're as unobservant as Venetia Stevenson's sexy grad student. Were she studying sharks, this girl would wrap herself in fresh meat and jump into the middle of a mess of 'em. Phantasm (1979) Review
Reviewed By: Chris Wright, Morehorror.com

Directed By: Don Coscarelli

Written By: Don Coscarelli

Starring: A. Michael Baldwin (Mike), Bill Thornbury (Jody), Reggie Bannister (Reggie), Angus Scrimm (The Tall Man), Kathy Lester (Lady in Lavender), Terrie Kalbus (Fortuneteller’s Granddaughter), Kenneth V. Jones (Caretaker), Susan Harper (Girlfriend), Lynn Eastman-Rossi (Sally), David Arntzen (Toby), Ralph Richmond (Bartender), Bill Cone (Tommy), Laura Mann (Double Lavender), Mary Ellen Shaw (Fortuneteller), Myrtle Scotton (Maid)

Boy!!! A quick way to send children behind the sofa is put this often overlooked Phantasm from Don Coscarelli on your television set. I’d be scared to go to a funeral home if I was up at a young age watching this at night! This movie is must see for fans who like low budget movies. “Halloween” may have gotten the most glory but I think “Phantasm” is a worthy top 5 of the 1970s in terms of low budget.

Gay Of The Dead 26: Big Bear Horror Film Fest Recap, Part 2
Part 2 of the Big Bear Horror Film Festival recap. Read Part 1 here.

Saturday

After being up way too late the night before watching Golden Girls and Sex And The City reruns in my hotel room (P.S., I’m totally gay), it was time to get back to the Big Bear Horror Film Festival for a really great film, Die-ner (Get It?).

Yes, the “Get It?” is part of the film title, which I’m now publicly begging the filmmakers to change. Why? Because this film is so much smarter than the title. Die-ner (Get It?) is a well directed, well written and well acted serial-killer-plus-zombie flick that makes great use of its limited resources. I don’t want to give too much away, but I definitely recommend Patrick Horvath’s awesome motion picture.

As we walk out of the theater for a quick break, J.T. Seaton* and Michael Simon* join our gay horror cabal.
