Lola Petticrew, an Irish actor whose career has only recently gotten started, has had a recent run of movie and television performances that is setting up the actor for an impressive and celebrated filmography that fans will want to keep an eye on. Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Petticrew began their professional career with the 2017 short film, Sparrow. Mainstream work came the next year, in 2018, when Petticrew appeared in small roles in Come Home and Next of Kin. New year, new Hulu! As the streamer welcomes in dozens of new and classic titles this January, including its new whodunit series “Death and Other Details,” it will first have to say goodbye to the old.

A few titles have already been removed from the library so far this month, including the hit samurai thriller “13 Assassins,” but over the next few weeks of January, dozens more titles will be leaving the platform, including the beloved baseball coming-of-age comedy “The Sandlot,” several Christmas classics, and the 1996 box office buster “Twister.”

"A minute late, the deal is off!" Brainstorm Media has revealed an official US trailer for an indie thriller titled Nightride, arriving in the US starting in early March. The film is a "realtime one shot" thriller from BAFTA-nomninated director Stephen Fingleton and starring Moe Dunford. A small-time dealer tries to pull one last deal with cash borrowed from a dangerous loan shark. When the handover goes wrong and the deal is off, he races against the clock to find his missing product and secure a new buyer before the loan shark finds him. In addition to Moe Dunford as the driver, the small cast includes Joana Ribeiro, Gerard Jordan, Ciaran Flynn, John Travers, and Stephen Rea. This first premiered at last year's Toronto Film Festival as well, but there wasn't much buzz then. It looks quite good. While “Derry Girls” continues to be the last word in young, raucous female rebellion on the Emerald Isle, “A Bump Along the Way” has a little something to add. Sin the same Northern Irish city as the hit Netflix sitcom, but shedding the ’90s nostalgia for the Snapchat age, Shelly Love’s appealing, unassuming debut feature is a bright reminder that while Derry girls may grow up, they don’t entirely grow out of their antics. Tracing the up-and-down relationship between insecure “15-going-on-50” highschooler Allegra (Lola Petticrew) and her single mother Pam (Bronagh Gallagher), a persistent party girl stunned to find herself pregnant in her mid-forties, Love’s film skirts televisual territory in its cozy, visually flat comedy of clashing sensibilities. Yet the more sharply empathetic insights of Tess McGowan’s screenplay do poke through the cheer, gently handling subjects ranging from patriarchal neglect to adolescent bullying.
