Review: Alex Proyas’s ‘Dark City’ on Arrow Video Limited Edition 4K Uhd Blu-ray
Image
The urban hell hole in which Alex Proyas’s Dark City takes place is a passé science-fiction dystopia. As crafted by production designer Patrick Tatopoulos, the setting draws heavily from the sci-fi of the early 20th century. This is an analog world of clockwork gears, bulky gadgets, and wires that reveals a heavy debt to Fritz Lang that only deepens when taken in tandem with the noir costuming.

The film’s atmosphere suggests a stasis reinforced by the manner in which a group of pale beings called the Strangers can freeze and reverse time in order to perform experiments on a city’s denizens. Able to implant and rewrite memories at will, the Strangers give their subjects new identities every day, rebooting them in a world of endless night to see how humans respond to the stimuli of their pasts.

One resident of this grotesque zoo, though, proves resistant to these manipulations.

American Idol Review: Top 20 Girls Revealed!
The end of American Idol's 12th Hollywood Week is upon us, as the girls battle it out during solo rounds. At the end of the day, 20 will be left standing to join this season's top male contestants.

Let's find out who will be moving on to Las Vegas, shall we?

Each female singer will have the option of choosing a song from the Idol song list or singing an original number for her solo audition. This is a new twist for this stage of the competition, one which doesn't seem to have been offered to the guys last week.

Angela Miller chooses option two and decides to sing an original song for the judges. She plays piano with Idol musicians backing her and it gives me chills it's so good. Angela just set the bar so incredibly high it's going to be hard for the other girls to compete with her.

Prince Harry
Prince Harry Moving To The U.S.
Prince Harry
British royal Prince Harry is moving to America to spend two months on a helicopter training course.

The 27 year old, brother of Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, will arrive in the U.S. next week (beg10Oct11) and will be based in El Centro, California, where he will train to fly combat aircraft in the desert close to the Mexican border in conditions that replicate those in war-torn Afghanistan.

Captain Devon Jones, the U.S. commanding officer at the Naval Air Facility, tells the Associated Press, "He will be Captain Wales when he is here. He will be treated like any other British pilot."

Prince Harry will also spend time at an Air Force station in Gila Bend, Arizona.

Prince Harry Heading to United States for Helicopter Training
Prince Harry
America is about to get another royal visit. This one, however, will have no pomp and will be conducted under considerably different circumstances. Prince Harry arrives in California this week for two months' training for British military helicopter pilots. Capt. Harry Wales, 27, and other Apache crews will train first at the Naval Air Facility El Centro east of San Diego, then go to Gila Bend Air Force Auxiliary Field in southern Arizona. Unlike the visit of his brother Prince William and sister-in-law the Duchess of Cambridge, this trip is purely for military purposes. Photos: Princess Diana's Boys: William & Harry...
