Chennai, March 11: As a word of caution for superstar Rajinikanth's fans, director K.S. Ravikumar, who penned the story and dialogues of upcoming Tamil period-drama "Kochadaiyaan", says it should only be viewed as an animated film to enjoy the experience.

"Kochadaiyaan" directed by Soundarya, daughter of Rajinikanth, is touted to be India's first motion capture photo-realistic 3D animated film.

"It's very important that audience doesn't walk in expecting to watch a typical Rajinikanth film. Of course, there's Rajini in it, but in an animated form that is larger than life. His fans need to understand this before the walk.

Chennai, Dec 19: Filmmaker K.S. Ravikumar has denied rumours that his next film will feature superstar Rajinikanth.

"I will soon be starting my next project with Kannada actor Kiccha Sudeep. I'm not doing any new project with Rajini sir," Ravikumar told Ians.

"We started a film, but that had to be shelved after he fell ill. Whatever you are hearing are just rumours and should be treated as the same," he added, setting the record straight.

Ravi and Rajini had collaborated on a Tamil film titled "Rana", which had to be dropped. The two have earlier worked together in Tamil blockbusters "Muthu" and "Padayappa".

This week saw two diverse releases, Vikramaditya Motwane's Lootera and the K.S. Ravikumar directed, Policegiri. While Lootera saw a decent 40 percent start at the multiplexes (picked up at high end multiplexes during the latter shows), Policegiri was fair at around 30-35 percent at the single screens. With good reviews and somewhat positive response to the Ranveer Singh, Sonakshi Sinha and Adil Hussain starrer, Lootera, the film is expected to accumulate a healthy weekend...

Sonakshi Sinha is in for some real interesting weekend ahead. After working in five back to back hero-centric films (Dabangg, Rowdy Rathore, Joker, Son of Sardaar, Dabangg 2), four of which crossed the 100 crore mark, she would now be seen in her first ever outing which has both her and hero in equal measures. Even for Ranveer, this is an acid test of sorts since after being seen as a flamboyant personality in Band Baaja Baraat followed by Ladies v/s Ricky Behl, he would be seen in a much sober avatar on screen. What has caught attention so far is the simplicity factor in this Vikramaditya Motwane affair. If the promos are any indication, this one appears to be a classy outing in the offering. This also means that the film would find maximum patronage, at least to begin with, in premium multiplexes at major cities with all India opening in the 50% range.

Mumbai, July 3: Manyata Dutt has confirmed that her husband Sanjay Dutt, who is currently completing his three-and-half-year jail sentence, has cancelled Dubai premiere of "Policegiri". Instead, he suggested to organise paid premiere to raise funds for Uttarakhand flood victims.

Produced by Rahul Aggarwal and directed by K.S. Ravikumar, the film is coming out Friday.

Manyata said she informed her husband in jail about the Dubai premiere through a letter.

"But he didn't want to spend money on premiere and then there was no artist, Sanju is also not here. So, he said instead of a premiere in Dubai, we can have a paid.

Policegiri is an upcoming Bollywood action comedy, which stars Sanjay Dutt, Prakash Raj and Prachi Desai in the leading roles. Directed by K.S. Ravikumar, the film is based on a police officer who decides to end crime and corruption that is affecting his city by tackling the local mafia. Mumbai, June 14: "Dasavathaaram" fame director K.S. Ravikumar's first Hindi movie, Sanjay Dutt starrer "Policegiri", is a remake of Tamil film "Saamy" and he says his next would again be a remake, but of his own film.

"After 'Policegiri', my next film would be a remake of my own film. I am not allowed to reveal much about my next film, but all I can say is it will be a remake of my own film," Ravikumar told Ians.

He is right now in "talks with few A list actors" for the next Bollywood movie.

"I an planning to cast some established actor for this film," said Ravikumar, a well-known Tamil director who has been planning to.

Coming up next month is the action packed Bollywood entertainer Policegiri directed by K.S. Ravikumar and produced by T.P Aggarwal and Rahul Aggarwal. Starring Sanjay Dutt, Prachi Desai, Prakash Raj, Rajpal Yadav and Om Puri, the movie is set to hit theaters on 5th July, 2013. The movie is an action drama which is set against a police versus underworld backdrop in the small town of Nagapuram situated on the Maharashtra-Andhra Pradesh border.

Mumbai, May 27: Actress Prachi Desai, who will soon be seen in Sanjay Dutt-starrer action film "Policegiri", says although her co-star won't be there for promotions, she is confident about the film's good business.

Currently, Sanjay is in jail to serve his remaining jail term in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts case. Prachi believes his fans will definitely watch the film.
