Warwick Davis has credited his late co-star Val Kilmer as "the reason" he made it through the production of Ron Howard's 1998 fantasy-adventure film Willow. Davis starred as the movie's titular character, Willow Ufgood, while Kilmer played the charmingly offbeat mercenary and swordsman Madmartigan — but it turns out that his skills didn't stop at those he demonstrated in combat; he was also a spirited "leader" who spurred on his colleagues. Davis told Entertainment Weekly at the opening of Universal Epic Universe in Orlando:

"He's really the reason I got through the making of the film Willow because if ever I was tired, exhausted, fed up, cold, he'd say, 'Come on, keep going!' And he'd be the kind of leader of the army, keeping us going. He was a beautiful man."

Davis joins a chorus of Hollywood stars who have paid tribute and shared fond memories of Kilmer in the wake of his death.

Lionsgate has picked up the adult comedy Rager to be directed by Jon Kasdan, who also wrote the screenplay with Dan Klein.

The script is under wraps, but the Imagine Entertainment project is produced by Brian Grazer, Jeb Brody and Allan Mandelbaum, with Justin Wilkes to executive produce.

Kasdan co-wrote Solo: A Star Wars Story alongside his father, Lawrence Kasdan, and is the writer and showrunner for Willow on Disney+. He also wrote and directed The First Time and In the Land of Women. Before that, Kasdan worked as a writer for the Freaks and Geeks TV series and acted in Dawson’s Creek and Dreamcatcher.

For those unfamiliar with the film, it’s a 1988 fantasy movie that was directed by Ron Howard. Stone discussed the proposed Wizards of Waverly Place spinoff in an episode of the Wizards of Waverly Pod. "Now, I don't know how true this is, but I was told that it was pitched to Selena to do a Harper-Alex spinoff, and she said no," Stone said. "And [it was] because she had a lot of other things going on." The actor added that Disney apparently approached Gomez "right after" The Wizards of Waverly Place wrapped up in 2012, and suggested that Harper and Alex moving into an apartment together in the show was intended to lay the groundwork for the unrealized project.

In mid May 2023, the news broke that a number of shows and specials would be leaving both Disney+ and Hulu, including Willow and The Mysterious Benedict Society. While originally left off this initial list, on May 27, Marvel fans (via The Direct) discovered that Runaways had been removed from both streaming services as well. The move makes Runaways the first adapted Marvel series to be removed from the platforms after it began as a Hulu Original series.
