The as-yet-untitled film will be directed by H. Vinoth, whose last three films “Nerkonda Paarvai” (2019), “Valimai” (2022), and “Thunivu” (2023) all starred Ajith Kumar. It will be produced by Venkat K. Narayana for Kvn Productions, with Jagadish Palanisamy and Lohith N.K. as co-producers. Tamil Super star Vijay, who launched his political party Tamizhaga Vetrik Kazhagam (Tvk) on February 2, 2024, has openly stated that he is aiming for the 2026 assembly elections and has no interest in the upcoming general elections.

A press statement from Vijay‘s office said that Tvk would be holding a meeting of its office bearers on Monday, February 19, at the party headquarters in Panaiyur at 9 a.m.

The party district office bearers and state office bearers will participate in the meeting in which decisions regarding 2024 general elections will be announced.

Popular Tamil actor and former leader of the opposition in the Tamil Nadu assembly, Vijayakanth, passed away on Thursday at a private hospital in Chennai. The 71-year-old had founded Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (Dmdk).

Officials at Miot Hospital confirmed his death. The actor, known by fans as the “Captain” for his portrayal of military characters, was admitted for the treatment of pneumonia and was on ventilator support. He tested positive for Covid-19.

“Captain Vijayakanth was on ventilator support following his admission for pneumonia. Despite the best efforts of the medical staff, he passed away in the morning on Dec 28,” the hospital stated.

Vijayakanth founded Dmdk in 2005, challenging the supremacy of former CMs J. Jayalalithaa and M. Karunanidhi. Chennai, Jan 31: Dmk leader M. Karunanidhi Thursday said he had proof to back his claim that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa once wrote to then chief minister M.G. Ramachandran against Kamal Haasan.

"I have all the evidence and when the time comes, (I will) prove the charges in court," Karunanidhi told the media.

Now, here’s another big star-spangled occasion that’ll bring the most ace personalities of Indian film industries coming together for the felicitation of Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi.

With accordance to Cm gifting 116 acres of land for the housing facilities of film technicians and members of Fefsi, a grand show will be hosted by next month. Amitabh Bachchan will fly down all the way to Chennai for gracing the occasion. The greatest highlight of the show will be Kamal Haasan’s stage play centering on honor of Chief Minister Karunanidhi.

Of course, even a lioness would do it if our honorable chief minister M. Karunanidhi insists so. Well, it’s about his upcoming film ‘Pen Singam’ – a film based on the Kalainyar’s literary composition of ‘Surulimalai’.

The film is directed by Bali Srirangam and is produced by Arumuganeri S P Murugesan for Nandhini Creations.

‘The climax portion is said to be a substantive one as the revolutionary dialogues pertaining to women’s rights will score the best amongst audiences’ says director Bali Srirangam. The film has Udhay Kiran, Meera Jasmine, Karthika and Vivek in lead roles while music director Ilayaraja has scored music for the lyrical lines of Vairamuthu and Vaali.

Chennai, Dec 15 (Ians) The Tamil Nadu government Tuesday set up a welfare board for workers of the film world, including workers of the small screen, to extend welfare measures to them.

The welfare board will be headed by the information minister and its members will include movie producers, actors, directors and representatives of workers.

The setting up of the welfare board follows Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi’s announcement in this regard at a function here Oct 9.
