- Several Babylon 5 cast members confirmed he was a chain smoker, and would only stop smoking when cameras were rolling. They said this was his only bad habit, and was otherwise a dream to work with, and was almost always in a jovial mood on-set, and treated everyone with great kindness and respect, getting along quite well with almost everyone. In fact, he and Peter Jurasik (who played his on-screen rival, Londo Mollari) got along so famously, and had such incredible chemistry on camera, their scenes were often the easiest to shoot, rarely needing more than one or two takes to complete, and the two veteran actors' performances together were often hailed as some of the best of the series.
- In December 2006, one of his fans, Amy Guskin, organized a group purchase with ten other fans of an unused G'Kar prosthetic mask (from the series "Babylon 5") and donated it to the Museum of the Moving Image in Queens, New York. The mask, which in a unique touch is displayed over a life mask of Andreas rescued from the production's makeup department, was added to the museum's collection in 2008. - On the DVD extras for the Babylon 5 series, the cast and crew discussed how Mr. Katsulas was wonderful to work with. However, they also stated with much humor that if you had something to discuss with him, you needed to do it before his makeup was applied, as it was not uncommon to find him in character as G'Kar once he was in costume.
- His nickname on the set of Babylon 5 was "Andy Kay".

- From 1971-1986, Katsulas toured with Peter Brook's international theatre troupe that began by touring West Africa, later taking residence at the Théâtre Des Bouffes Du Nord in Paris.
