‘Alive’ Review

Zombies seem to be endlessly popular. Just when you think the world is getting bored of the horror sub-genre, something pops along to prove otherwise. Whether it’s Shaun of the Dead, World War Z, The Walking Dead or the most recent hit series The Last of Us, there is always something new and popular. So it’s no surprise that low-budget horror filmmakers will often give the zombie movie a go.

In this one, the unimaginatively titled Alive, Helen, her younger brother Barney, and her boyfriend Kevin (this has to be a British film with those names doesn’t it?!) are trying to find a safe haven during the zombie apocalypse. This safe haven is an island in which they have the directions for on a Gps unit of some sort.

Alive trailer: January release draws comparisons to 28 Days Later, Cabin Fever

Gravitas Ventures will be giving writer/director David Marantz’s zombie movie Alive a digital release on January 31st, and to start building the hype for it they have dropped a trailer for the film online. You can check it out in the embed above, and take a look at the poster for Alive at the bottom of this article.

Said to be “in the tradition of 28 Days Later and Cabin Fever“, Alive has the following synopsis: Helen navigates a ravaged world with her boyfriend Kevin and her little brother Barney. Desperate to find help after Barney’s infection slowly turns him into a zombie, they come upon a house where lives Dan, a man harboring a heavy secret.

Ellen Hillman, Kian Pritchard, Neil Sheffield, Stuart Matthews, Angus Kennedy, Gillian Broderick, Andrew May-Gohrey, Daniel May-Gohrey, Simone McIntyre, Helen Coathup, Nick Ewans, Carl Upshell, Johnny Leigh Wright, and Paul Hughes star.

Cocoa shortage could make chocolates extinct by 2020

London, December 11: Chocolates could run out by 2020 as the cocoa supplies are diminishing across the world.

Industry expert Angus Kennedy said that the chocolate bars may get replaced by slabs of palm oil and vegetable fats packed with raisins and nougat by 2020 as there is a worldwide shortage of cocoa, the Mirror reported.

As the cocoa crops are being replaced by more profitable rubber plantations, the future of chocolate bars looks bleak. (Ani)...

London, Oct 7: Experts have warned that the world will officially run out of cocoa beans on Oct er 2, 2020, owing to the ever-expanding global demand.

Confectionery giants have claimed that there are just not enough cocoa plantations across the globe to feed the demand, the Daily Star reported.

Angus Kennedy, chocolate taster and expert, said that there will be a chocolate shortage soon and there isn't a solution to the problem.

Kennedy said that experts have figured that 2.3 globes is needed to accommodate man's needs for chocolate in terms of forestry and space.

Basically, we need another Earth if we carry on at this rate, he asserted.

Kennedy insisted that the problem is that much of the space.

A chocolate taster has been forced to quit as he fears he may have a heart attack. Angus Kennedy has been warned by doctors that his cholesterol level is 'dangerously high'. He has gained 12.7kg (2st) through eating 900g (2lb) of sweets a day since getting the job in 2010, reports Metro. The real-life Willy Wonka said of his occupation: "Eating chocolate for a living really was the dream job.
