‘The Four Seasons’ Season 2: Real Reason Why Netflix Changed Its Plan For Steve Carell’s Hit Show
Image
When The Four Seasons debuted on Netflix in May 2025 as a limited series, fans were captivated by its heartfelt, comedic exploration of lifelong friendship and midlife change. Starring Tina Fey, Steve Carell, Colman Domingo, and an ensemble cast, it quickly became a hit, accumulating 39 million hours in the first half of 2025 on Netflix, according to its latest engagement report.

Despite being envisioned as a limited series, the Netflix show has been renewed for a second season. The unexpected renewal wasn’t just born of fan enthusiasm, but reflects a direct tie to the show’s emotional core.

Why Netflix Renewed Steve Carell’s Hit Show For a Second Season Steve Carell in the show | Credits: Universal Television

Originally pitched as a self-contained, eight-episode limited series, The Four Seasons was always meant to offer a complete arc until reality intervened. Ending with the aftermath of Steve Carell’s Nick’s death,...

Reno 911! Cast: Where The Actors Are Now
Image
"Reno 911!" was a satirical take on "Cops," the popular reality docuseries following real cops in the line of duty, making arrests and chasing "bad guys." Airing originally on Comedy Central from 2003 to 2009, "Reno 911!" took the bumbling cop trope to its logical conclusion, portraying the officers of the fictional Reno Sheriff's Department as incompetent stooges. The show existed within the peak of crude, offensive comedy that dominated the 2000s; it featured politically incorrect skits that dealt with race, gender, sex work, and mental illness. Though much of the depiction of mental illness did not age well, a majority of the comedy is strangely still funny. The comedy of "Reno" still elicits chuckles by today's standards due to society's evolved perception of police. After about 15 years of police brutality and misconduct cases, it feels nice to laugh at ineffective or downright problematic police work in a low-stakes way via the cast's antics.

Image
Colman Domingo had a bit of a full circle moment in his acting career Tuesday, celebrating his second Emmy nomination on the set of the series for which he earned his first.

The actor was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series at the 77th Emmy Awards for his role as Danny in Netflix’s The Four Seasons. He was previously nominated (and won) for his guest role in Season 2 of HBO’s Euphoria.

Speaking with Deadline before starting his work day on the set of the third season, Domingo said: “Maybe it’s a good luck charm, being here with my cast from Euphoria.“

The actor remained tight-lipped about Season 3 details, but he did say “we’re creating some epic story, and I’m having a great time.”

All the snubs and surprises at the 2025 Emmy nominations
Image
'Tis the day of the Emmys and all through the house, surprises are stirring and snubs are inspiring grouse. While fans of Hacks, Severance, and The White Lotus had plenty to cheer about, Squid Game, The Handmaid's Tale and The Voice are among the high-profile shows that went overlooked by voters. On the other hand, Uzo Aduba and Colman Domingo pulled off surprise victories that the odds didn't see coming.

We rounded up this morning's biggest snubs and surprises from the 2025 Emmy nominations.

Snub: Selena Gomez and Steve Martin, Only Murders in the Building (Best Comedy Actress/Best Comedy Actor)

Looks like Martin Short will be representing the podcasting sleuths solo at this year's Emmys. Both of his Only Murders in the Building costars fell short in ultra-close battles for their respective categories. It would have been Gomez's second consecutive nomination for the series; she also missed out on...

Why Rob McElhenney and the ‘It’s Always Sunny’ gang didn’t want Danny DeVito to join the record-setting sitcom (exclusive book excerpt)
Image
It's safe to say it wasn't always sunny behind the scenes of a certain beloved sitcom.

In her new book, It’s (Almost) Always Sunny in Philadelphia: How Three Friends Spent $200 to Create the Longest-Running Live-Action Sitcom in History and Help Build a Network, Gold Derby contributor Kim Potts traces the strange but true history of the show as it prepares to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

The brainchild of Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day, and Glenn Howerton (collectively known as Rcg), It’s Always Sunny, which premiered on FX on Aug. 4, 2005, introduced "The Gang," a gaggle of self-centered miscreants running a South Philly dive bar. Potts recounts the low-budget origins of the show, how Rcg joined together to craft the pilot and assemble the team, and, in the exclusive excerpt below, how its most famous cast member, Danny DeVito, wasn't quite welcomed with open arms when he joined in the second season.

‘Long Live The State’: An Examination Of The MTV Sketch Group’s Enduring Legacy In Comedy – Comedy Means Business Podcast
Image
In the arts, it’s always fascinating to look at the phenomenon of the “scene” — a cluster of creative talents emerging in one place, at one particular time, before shooting off to success on their own separate trajectories.

In 2000s New York alone, you saw multiple examples between music and film. On the music side, you had the convergence of indie artists like The Strokes, Interpol, and The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, as illustrated in the 2017 book and sequent 2022 documentary Meet Me in the Bathroom. At the same time, on the film side, you saw the rise of artists like Noah Baumbach and Darren Aronofsky who remain some of today’s most prominent. In the world of comedy, there have been many scenes, but one of the most interesting would have to be the group of writer-performers emerging from New York University in the late 1980s who came to be known as The State.

“The Four Seasons, Not The Smart Relationship Portrait It Tries To Be” – A Subhash K Jha Review
Image
Some of Netflix’s recent content has precipitated a prolonged season of discontent. The Four Seasons doesn’t diminish the din of mediocrity that threatens to drown the ones that make a difference.

This one most assuredly doesn’t amount to much except a mound of flat jokes melted to the ground by their own vacuousness, about relationships with some solid acting but no plotting-heft to back up the actors. In the absence of a clear gameplan The Four Seasons moves ahead ostensibly on its own volition.

The relationship of the friends among a stack of smug humour feels like a stand-up joke which only the comedian on stage is into. The audience laughs out of politeness. Or maybe complacency.

When we first meet the six lifelong friends now in their 50s (hence the mid-life crisis) we can see the pastiche of camaraderie coming apart at the seams, when Nick...

Tina Fey Addresses if Her Beloved Co-Star, 62, Will Return in ‘The Four Seasons’ Season 2
Image
The Four Seasons made an immediate impression when it premiered on Netflix this May. Co-created by Tina Fey, the series rebooted the 1981 rom-com movie of the same name, taking some creative liberties with the original story. One of the most significant departures was the death of Nick (played by Steve Carell) in the penultimate episode. Nick is a pivotal character whose divorce from his wife, Anne, serves as the catalyst that fractures the group dynamic among the six longtime friends. That plot turn was originally designed to serve as a self-contained story, as the series was first conceived as a limited run. But with the show’s popularity prompting a renewal, fans have begun to wonder if, perhaps, Carell’s Nick will return for Season 2, and now Fey has addressed those concerns.

Carell is an amazing performer whose charm can easily elevate a show, and the case was no different with The Four Seasons.

‘The Four Seasons’ Breakout Marco Calvani on Going Very Gay and Very Italian for the Netflix Series
Image
When I sat down for lunch in Bryant Park, Manhattan, with “The Four Seasons” star Marco Calvani, I asked him whether anyone had recognized him on the street during the press tour for the Netflix series.

“I am learning to enjoy this time until it lasts. Those billboards on Santa Monica Boulevard, in three months, there will be another face. Sunset Boulevard, we took over, everywhere, my big, giant face. I didn’t know any of this before, so I can’t say I was afraid, but I didn’t know what to expect. Yesterday, I was around New York, and 10 people in one hour on the streets [stopped me]. I’m actually more shocked by the fact that people actually watched it, many different people of different ages and looks. It’s another opportunity to be nice to people,” he said of the viral comedy series from Tina Fey, Lang Fisher,...

How ‘Reno 911!’ Taught Kerri Kenney-Silver to Keep Up with Changing Times | ‘What No One Tells You’
Image
When you’re able to launch into a successful career in comedy straight out of college, landing a cherished cult sketch series on MTV and continuing on in hit shows like “Reno 911!,” it’s easy to become jaded into thinking you have all the answers. However, in reflecting on these experiences during the latest episode of “What No One Tells You,” Kerri Kenney-Silver admitted that many of her accomplishments have come from keeping up with changing trends.

“When we did the pilot for ‘Reno 911!’, it was the year 2000,” she said. “Which sounds like a sci-fi movie now, but, things were different. Things were different in comedy, things were different in the world.”

She added, “We just did our most recent ‘Reno’ movie two years ago, so it’s a 25 year span of time. While the characters have remained the same, the subject matter has changed, and also the pace of comedy is changing.

Tina Fey Talks Steve Carell’s Potential Return in The Four Seasons Season 2
Image
Emmy winner Tina Fey has addressed the possibility of Steve Carell’s return in the upcoming second season of The Four Seasons. In addition to playing one of the Netflix show’s lead characters, Fey also took on multiple roles behind-the-scenes, including serving as its co-creator, co-writer, and co-showrunner.

During the penultimate episode of The Four Seasons Season 1, Carell’s character Nick surprisingly died in a car accident while he was on a New Year’s Eve ski vacation with his girlfriend and her friends, whom he had trouble connecting with due to their age gap. In a recent interview with Deadline, when asked if Fey has any plans to bring back Carell in potential flashback sequences, she admitted that she doesn’t really know at the moment. “I couldn’t possibly say. We have our format. I mean, of the many mistakes I’ve made in my career, killing...

Tina Fey Reveals ‘The Four Seasons’ Format For Season 2, Addresses If Steve Carell Could Return
Image
With Netflix comedy series The Four Seasons, co-creator and star Tina Fey skewers the intricate dynamics of romantic partnership, taking us on a series of vacations with four couples in a longtime friend group. Based on Alan Alda’s 1981 film in which he starred with Carol Burnett, Fey and co-creators Tracey Wigfield and Lang Fisher’s reimagining tracks the fallout among the friends when Steve Carell’s character Nick leaves his wife Anne (Kerri Kenney) and finds love with the much younger Ginny (Erika Henningson). Fey’s character Kate and her husband Jack (Will Forte) absorb the seismic impact, along with Colman Domingo’s Danny and husband Claude (Marco Calvani). With Season 2 on the way, Fey discusses the hilarious and sometimes heartbreaking reality explored by the show, if Steve Carell could appear in a flashback, and how she sees comedy evolving in the industry.

‘The Four Seasons’ Star Marco Calvani Signs With UTA
Image
Exclusive: UTA has signed playwright, director, and actor Marco Calvani for representation in all areas.

Calvani recently made his U.S. acting debut playing Claude in the Netflix dramedy The Four Seasons. From creators Tina Fey, Lang Fisher and Tracy Wigfield, the show follows a group of six friends heading on a vacation together when Nick (Steve Carell) drops the bomb that he wants to leave his wife, Anne (Kerri Kenney-Silver). From there, the three couples — one split up — navigate the new dynamic of splitting time between Nick and Anne while the other two pairs deal with their own struggles that come with being together for a long time. Season 2 of the series begins production later this year.

Tina Fey on ‘The Four Seasons’: ‘It was a challenge to be restrained about where we put jokes’
Image
“Just one more time,” says Tina Fey. “It was time for me to go back into something just one more time, before they put me in the ground.”

With a string of successes from 30 Rock, Mean Girls, Saturday Night Live to Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, turns out it was a 40-year-old movie that inspired the award-winning triple threat to take another creative swing.

“I’ve always loved the movie since I was 11 years old,” Fey tells Gold Derby of the 1981 feature The Four Seasons. As luck would have it, the film was made for Universal Studios, where she happens to have an overall deal. More crucially, she also secured the blessing of Alan Alda, who wrote and directed the original, and has a cameo in Fey’s limited series adaptation for Netflix. “I think he's delighted that this movie he made 40 years ago is still speaking to people in these two different ways,...

Why MTV's The State Ended And Created A Rift Between The Alternative Sketch Comedy Group
Image
Back in the 1990s, sketch comedy was mostly dominated by "Saturday Night Live." After a rough patch in the 1980s, the series rose to prominence again thanks to the talents of "Wayne's World" stars Mike Myers and Dana Carvey, Chris Farley, Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell, Cheri Oteri, Molly Shannon, and more. But during this time, there were also a series of worthy, alternative sketch comedy competitors that offered a nice change of pace from the mainstream network laughs of "SNL."

From the delightfully Canadian comedy of "Kids in the Hall," to the diverse hilarity of "In Living Color," the short-lived but brilliant "The Dana Carvey Show," to the madness of "Upright Citizens Brigade," there was a sketch comedy show for everyone. But perhaps the series that would go on to have the biggest impact in pop culture's future was MTV's "The State," named after the comedy troupe of the same name.

‘The Four Seasons’ Standout Kerri Kenney-Silver Talks Learning to Do Everything Yourself | ‘What No One Tells You’
Image
Building your professional toolkit is not an overnight task. For actress/writer/comedienne Kerri Kenney-Silver, even though she continues to adapt with more dramatic work like “The Four Seasons,” she still holds true to what she learned when pursuing sketch comedy in college: Know how to do it all.

Speaking to IndieWire’s Future of Filmmaking for the latest episode of “What No One Tells You,” Kenney-Silver said of her early years in comedy, “You are doing everything. You are the prop master. You are doing your own makeup. You’re slapping on wigs. You’ve got Ziplocs full of mustaches.”

The sketch group Kenney-Silver joined at New York University would go on to become the beloved comedy troupe The State, which also featured David Wain, Joe Lo Truglio, Thomas Lennon, Michael Ian Black, Michael Showalter, and Ken Marino. When they were just starting out in 1992, every aspect of their performances were self-curated.

Kerri Kenney-Silver on ‘The Four Seasons,’ grief, growth — and jumping in headfirst
Image
After years of making audiences laugh with her sharp comedic timing, Kerri Kenney-Silver wasn’t looking for reinvention — but it found her anyway. In The Four Seasons, the ensemble drama inspired by the 1981 Alan Alda film, Kenney-Silver steps into the unexpected role of Anne, a soft-spoken woman navigating change in midlife. Best known for her offbeat characters on shows like Reno 911!, the actor found herself charting new emotional territory — and, in the process, experiencing a profound shift both on screen and off.

“It's any actor's dream to get to play, to have a full experience, so to speak,” Kenney-Silver says, reflecting on Anne’s evolution over the show’s debut season. “You meet her in one place in her life where she thinks her bed is made … she's going to just sort of finish out her life for better or for worse, but mostly for better in her eyes.

Jane Rosenthal Champions Female and Nonbinary Filmmakers When the “Very Act of Us Speaking Up Feels Risky” at Chanel Tribeca Festival Luncheon
Image
When actress Mira Sorvino thinks about what and who helped her launch her career, she credits Tribeca Festival co-founder Jane Rosenthal for giving her that break.

“Jane Rosenthal actually gave me my first job in the industry. It started off being a volunteer position — I was an intern at Tribeca Productions, reading scripts. Then it turned into a paid position as a reader after they ended up liking my coverage. I did that for two years, and during that time I actually read the script Amongst Friends that ended up being the first feature that I ever starred in. We went to Sundance and that launched my career,” the actress recalled. “Tribeca helped me start my career, and it’s always given a hand up to young artists and people who had the gumption to just go for it.”

So supporting the 10th anniversary of the Through Her Lens — a...

“It’s these little tiny moments, these little arguments, that I think feel real to people”: The Four Seasons Showrunner Lang Fisher and Actress Kerri Kenney-Silver Talk the Show’s Naturalism
Image
Based on the 1981 film by Alan Alda and starring an ensemble cast led by Steve Carrell, Tina Fey, Will Forte, Colman Domingo, Marco Calvani, and Kerri Kenney-Silver, the new series The Four Seasons was a hit when it debuted on Netflix in May 2025. Now, the show has emerged as a legitimate Emmy contender, hailed for its excellent cast and often hilarious yet always poignant writing.

At the 2025 Atx TV Festival, The Four Seasons co-creator and showrunner Lang Fisher (Never Have I Ever) and actress Kerri Kenney-Silver (Reno 911!) had a conversation about the show, its unexpected success in light of its second season renewal, and why they think a series like this is so refreshing in the modern television landscape.

HBO's New Film From Succession Creator Set to Give Steve Carell His Second Streaming Hit After The Four Seasons
Image
Steve Carell is arguably famous for his comedic roles and for portraying Michael Scott for seven seasons on the U.S. version of The Office. However, the actor has further expanded his career with different roles and proven his acting skills in other genres, including drama.

His latest release, Mountainhead, is a drama film by Succession creator Jesse Armstrong. The film, which follows four friends reuniting at a getaway retreat during an international crisis, is the second release from Carell after The Four Seasons. Following the film's release on Max on May 31, Carell seems to have a new streaming hit, as Mountainhead debuted in second place in the global charts, per FlixPatrol.

Shortly after its release on the platform, the movie entered the charts in different territories around the world and reached the No. 2 spot in most of them. In its second day,Mountainhead reached the No. 1 spot in 22 countries,...

Kerri Kenney-Silver Is More Like Her ‘Four Seasons’ Character Than She Would Like to Admit
Image
To some, Kerri Kenney-Silver might seem like she has nothing left to prove. She’s a founding member of the sketch group The State, prolific in comedy projects of all kinds (including the long-running Reno 911!), and still busy midway through her 50s. But getting cast as Anne in The Four Seasons, then receiving multiple scripts, and finally being called to set to film still didn’t make her feel entirely secure about joining the production.

At a Four Seasons panel on the first day of the Atx TV Festival, Kenney-Silver admitted that when she first arrived at her trailer, she didn’t unpack. Because she assumed she’d get fired right away, she tried to spare her future self the pain of having to gather up her personal items, like photos of her son, and depart in shame. Instead, Kenney-Silver has become the show’s breakout star — perhaps because, as she told the panel audience,...

‘The Four Seasons’ Favorite Marco Calvani on Belting Shania Twain, Lessons From Tina Fey and Portraying a Healthy Gay Open Marriage
Image
During the Cannes Film Festival, a melting pot of worldly accents can be heard gossiping at beach clubs, waiting on movie queues and shouting at wild afterparties — but one rang most excited, the gleeful Italian cadence of Marco Calvani.

The longtime European playwright unexpectedly landed a role in Tina Fey’s Netflix summer hit “The Four Seasons,” and took a victory lap in the South of France where he was on the ground packaging and selling his next feature directorial effort.

Calvani — who plays husband to Colman Domingo and occasional sixth wheel in a friend group that includes Tina Fey, Steve Carell, Will Forte and Kerri Kenney — shines as the deeply uncynical, occasionally over-the-top Claude. He’s a breath of fresh air, wild gesticulation and even a cringe-worthy Shania Twain performance for the record books in Fey’s adaptation of the 1981 Alan Alda film by the same name.

Netflix's 'Four Seasons' Gets Gigantic Season 2 Update From Tina Fey
Image
The characters in Netflix's The Four Seasons are preparing themselves for another year of drama-filled vacations. But unlike with Season 1, which was based on the 1981 movie of the same name, Tina Fey and the show's writing staff have a blank page for Season 2. The series, which has been a big hit for Netflix since it debuted at the start of May, starred Fey, Steve Carell, Colman Domingo, Erika Henningsen, Will Forte, Marco Calvani, and Kerri Kenney-Silver, as a group of friends who go on a different vacation together each spring, summer, fall, and winter. Season 1's penultimate episode included a shocking twist that separated the show from the movie, and the writing staff has ample room to dive further into that in Season 2 without a second film to pull from.

Tina Fey recently sat down with The Hollywood Reporter to discuss the first season of The Four Seasons and...

What’s the Secret to Comedic Timing? The Creators and Artisans of ‘The Four Seasons’ Pull Back the Curtain
Image
There’s something very aspirational these days about being able to take a vacation during spring, summer, fall, and winter. But the creative team behind “The Four Seasons” miniseries had some goals of their own in mind when adapting the 1981 Alan Alda film of the same title. Co-creators, writers, and executive producers Tina Fey, Tracey Wigfield, and Lang Fisher, have all been involved in legendary comedy series from “30 Rock” to “Never Have I Ever,” but “The Four Seasons” demanded more character-driven and even “indie movie” focus to its visual style than your standard sitcom.

Watch the video of Tina Fey and “The Four Seasons” team above.

“ In the shows that Tina and Tracey and I have done before, it’s been really rapid fire and there’s been a lot of tight coverage and I feel like when we first started talking to [cinematographer Tim Orr], we’d like to play things looser,...

Tina Fey Explains That ‘Four Seasons’ Death and Teases “Starting From Scratch” for Season 2
Image
[This story contains spoilers for episodes seven and eight of The Four Seasons]

“It’s been so fun. I don’t know that I’ve ever been a part of something that had this much of an immediate positive reaction,” Tina Fey says of the last few weeks as The Four Seasons, which she co-created and stars in, debuted on Netflix.

The series is inspired by the 1981 rom-com of the same name directed by Alan Alda, and follows three couples as they go on vacations in spring, summer, fall and winter, with marital and friendship troubles along the way. In a surprise twist, Steve Carell’s character Nick — who had divorced his wife Anne (Kerri Kenney-Silver) and was dating the much younger Ginny (Erika Henningsen) — died in a car crash in the second-to-last episode, which Fey addressed at an Emmy FYC event on Monday.

Fey and her co-creators, Tracey Wigfield and Lang Fisher, had the death in mind from the beginning of the show,...

‘The Four Seasons’ star Erika Henningsen on the ‘biggest opportunity’ she’s ever been given and what might happen in Season 2
Image
Warning: This story contains spoilers for The Four Seasons.

When Erika Henningsen found out she had booked a key role on the breakout Netflix comedy series The Four Seasons, it wasn’t through her representatives or the show’s casting director. Instead, cocreator and star Tina Fey reached out directly.

“It was such a Tina touch that she would take the time to call me personally,” Henningsen tells Gold Derby. “And I just started crying immediately, because this is the biggest opportunity I’ve ever been given.”

Henningsen and Fey already had a solid professional relationship. The Emmy Award winner had previously cast Henningsen as the lead of the Broadway adaptation of Mean Girls, and Henningsen also appeared on episodes of Girls 5eva, which Fey executive-produced. However, The Four Seasons was different: Not only did Fey become Henningsen’s onscreen co-star, but the younger actress was also required to share...

This article contains some spoilers for the Netflix series The Four Seasons.

When Kerri Kenney-Silver went to audition for one of the lead roles in The Four Seasons, she figured she had absolutely no shot. It wasn’t because she lacked the experience or acting chops. Demi Moore at an event for Another Happy Day (2011)
Demi Moore and Colman Domingo are set to star in Strange Arrivals, an alien abduction-themed romance inspired by the true story of Betty and Barney Hill and based on the podcast by Toby Ball.

Betty and Barney Hill were “an interracial couple who, in 1961, became the first reported case of an alien abduction, as they journeyed back from their honeymoon in Niagara Falls. Their experience catapulted them to fame and celebrity, but underneath that notoriety simmered the truth of what really happened that night, which would test even the most epic of romances.“

Roger Ross Williams (Stamped from the Beginning) will direct Strange Arrivals for See-Saw Films, based on a screenplay by Jane Anderson (Olive Kitteridge).

In a statement, Williams said, “As a director, to be able to work with actors at the top of their craft, is a dream. Demi and Colman coming together for the first time to...

Tina Fey reimagines Alan Alda's The Four Seasons (but is it good?)
Image
There’s a sequence in Alan Alda’s 1981 movie The Four Seasons in which all of the main characters converge on a classic Connecticut college for a parents' weekend and end up playing a friendly game of soccer.

Alda uses the game to highlight the competitiveness of the two primary players. The set piece is the same in Tina Fey’s new interpretation – now playing on Netflix – but the sport has changed. Now they are all playing ultimate frisbee.

This is just one of the many ways Fey and her co-creators – Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield – have managed to remain faithful to Alda’s original while expanding the scope.

With a writer like Tina Fey in charge, how could Four Seasons go wrong?

For instance, whereas the soccer scene in the original film primarily results in a showdown between the two alpha males in the group – Jack (Alda) and Nick (Len Cariou) – Fey,...

Top 10 Movies and Shows on Netflix: Week of May 5, 2025

This Mother’s Day weekend, Netflix audiences skipped the prix fixe brunch and went straight to the Sunday ragù, making the Vince Vaughn–led Nonnas— a love letter to grief, cooking, and second chances — the most-watched English film of the week with 15.3 million views.

The celebrations extended beyond the heartwarming grandmothers of Staten Island. Mothers also kept the cinematic hits coming, with viewing numbers for The Mother and Bird Box increasing more than 20 percent the week of Mother's Day.

And TV audiences continued cycling through the seasons with Tina Fey, Steve Carell, Colman Domingo, Will Forte, Kerri Kenney-Silver, Marco...

‘The Four Seasons’ debuts at No. 1 on Netflix
Image
The Four Seasons is No. 1.

Netflix’s new comedy series from cocreator Tina Fey topped the streaming platform’s viewing charts between April 28 and May 4, taking down the buzzy final season of thriller series You. That The Four Seasons only premiered on May 1, while You was available in full for the entire week, further buttresses its bona fides as a budding hit for Netflix.

“We are beyond thrilled at how many people have watched and loved The Four Seasons,’” cocreator Lang Fisher said in a statement to Gold Derby. “Thank you to everyone who wrapped themselves up in a blanket, got cozy, and binge-watched the whole thing in one sitting. We love you!”

The Four Seasons has long been expected to factor heavily into the Emmy Awards race, although some pundits have expressed slight concern over its May release date. In recent years, shows that arrived during the final month...
